We made it! Thanks Bev and others for the help and info. Orlando is up and running.

Universal, parks are great - no waiting.
My first EVER coaster ride -- I'm a MUMMY addict. You can ride anything, no lines.
Weather is good -- just enough clouds to keep it cool.
Staying at Windsor palms. Love it. PM me if you want info on my owner -- I have a 3bd, 2b, condo. Owner very nice.

Those coming from the west on I-10, it took us 1 1/2 hours to get around Pensacola. The traffic was horrible and there was no one directing traffic. Hundreds of cars sitting thru dinky little stop lights, very annoying, but I guess they are busy with other things. Lots of debris everywhere.

Just taking a coffee break, we're heading back to the parks.....
Going to WDW tomorrow, hope the lines are the same as Universal.

Wish i was there!!!!! Have a great time!!!! Have you driven down i-drive ? Much damage to that area?Just 1 more week and my wife and i will be there!We are calling it the no kids allowed tour Just a husband and wife get away1st one in 7 yrs!

Good for you! Can't believe the kids would let you go to The World without them. You will notice the damage if you're looking for it. Signs torn up, trees uprooted, siding off houses. Lots of roofing going on. But, if you didn't know about the hurricane you might think it was construction. Everything is up and running. Plenty of food/gas etc.

Thanks for the info on Pensacola. We are going to WDW in December from Baton Rouge and were wondering what was happening in Pensacola. I'm assuming that was due to the I-10 bridge collapse. Hope you have lots of fun at Universal. I'm jealous. We loved it almost as much as WDW.

Plan about an hour and a half to get around Pen. It will probably be better by Dec. There were several debris dump sites on the detour and that slowed down everything. But it was like spending an hour in stop and go traffic.
We are coming back down in Nov and I'm hoping they will have refined the route.
In fact, DH has the maps out to see if we can get back a little easier.

Give DH a map and a calculator and he's entertained for hours!!!!
