My DH and I finally decided to go in May with our 4 yr old and 8 month old (at time of trip).

I'm having an extremely hard time deciding on where to stay. In the past, we've always stayed at WL. I'd like to stay there again - but in a deluxe room. Any other codes out there other than the AX codes? I tried booking the deluxe room, but I'm not able to with those codes.

Any other tips?

Thanks for all the wonderful info!

Congratulations on deciding to go!

As for discounts, the AX* codes are it for May for now. AP rates will likely come out later.

As for a resort, if you decide against WL, then I would recommend a monorail resort, GF, Polynesian, or Contemporary. The GF & Polynesian are my personal favorites. Also, keep in mind that the rooms at these three resorts are larger than the standard rooms at WL. Not larger than the deluxe rooms though.

I was offered a Disney Club and AAA discount on a deluxe room at WL. Do you have either of these? Check the price also when the AP rates come out.

Any resort near MK is going to be fun. WL is just so great for kids.
You probably would enjoy the Poly or CR, from what I've heard.

Can't really tell you much about GF. We just don't have any desire to stay there.

The deluxe room at WL is priced nicely for what you get, especially if you get it at a discount.

Did you check out the deluxe rooms aka junior suites at the CR?

Thanks! What type of discount does AAA offer (10%)?

I was also looking at the Poly. I would like a MK view. Any recommendations?

If you decide to go with the Polynesian, which is awesome by the way, book a lagoon view room and request a view of the Magic Kingdom. You would probably get placed in the Tahiti building which is also very near the Transportation & Ticket Center, which means you would also have convenient access to the Epcot monorail. Check out Steve's ("Tikiman") website at http://tikiman2001.homestead.com . It's loaded with great information on the Polynesian.

I was offered a rate of $368 per night during regular season when the normal rate is $415, not bad. Have you thought about 2 connecting rooms-this would be similar to a deluxe.

The AAA discount or any other discount may or may not be available for when you need it but you can always call CRO and ask where it is available. I asked about CR and she said it wasn't available at that time but OKW was at a discount.

If you can't get a discount near MK you could try an Epcot resort. You'll just be a monorail ride away.

The rack rate isn't that bad for a deluxe, though, if you decide to do WL.

You could also try renting points from a DVC member to stay at VWL.
