My mom was here last week and we were talking about DL since we were going to be there in a couple of days. Then all of a sudden she says she has a proposition for me and she wants to take my boys to WDW. So I start calculating. Then she says that the only catch is DH and I have to go also:cool1: All we have to pay for is our food, she is paying for rooms, flights and tickets.:cool1: :worship: :scared1: But I didn't accept right away and I was really questioning her if this is what she wanted to do. I finally said ok and we had to talk to DH. Then I remembered............I am totally afraid to fly:scared: :scared: I mean really really scared just thinking about it I start to get a panic attack. So we will see how that works out.

So my sister had already looked up some prices but I was going to start looking also. I know this is the DL board but if there is any info or tips that you can give me I would really appreciate it.

WDW here we come!!

Talk to your doctor about a mild sedative for the flight. Usually just helps you sleep through it and before you know it, the flight is over and you'll be in WDW. :thumbsup2

wow the trip sounds awsome. I can't help with the flying part as i have never flew before( iam in April).

Hydroguy has a thread about WDW for DL Vets.

If you're flexibile on your dates, check to see if they're offering a free dining plan option (they usually offer that in the September/October timeframe). It's a tremendous deal. Our family of four goes for two weeks (parks, value resort, and food) for about $2500 with that.

It's best to stay on-site at WDW.

Their transportation is good, but a rental car is a good option as well.

The dining plan is a great option (even if it's not free), but it requires quite a bit of planning to maximize the value. There are some fantastic restaurants, and you can eat like a king for less with the dining plan.

I don't recommend paying extra for the park hopper. Spend full days at each park. Plan more days at MK and Epcot and less at Animal Kingdom.

Bring two pairs of comfortable shoes and alternate each day. Buy some moleskin to put on your blisters. You will do a LOT of walking. Way more than at DL.

Utilize Fast Passes (virtually identical to DL).

We are staying at the Contemporary and I was planning on getting the dining plan. I have 2 teenage boys and I know we will benefit from it. We are going to be there for 9 nights and will have 7 full days there.

I will check out Hydro Guys thread. I didn't realize how much there was to plan.

I think I will talk to my dr when the time gets closer. I really need something to calm my nerves while flying.

hi there, first, i hear u about flying :scared1: ...My first flight was to disneyworld in 04 (first flight for me and my kids-i was 35 :goodvibes )...I have since flown to DL twice and am flying back again in may...i still HATE flying, but to get where i want to go, i have to do it...our last trip, i lost close to 10 pounds...my doctor ran all kinds of tests to determine why i was losing it, and we chalked it up to stress....(for me 10 pounds is a lot, i am 5 ft 4 and went down to 104 pounds)...anyways, what an opportunity....i say if you can get past the flying fear, go for it...i am so glad i keep booking these trips, disney is our "happy" place...i think about "flying" everyday now that i booked our flights...WDW is an experience for sure and is a long flight...that is why we are doing DL 3 times in a row(plus my kids seem to prefer DL)...another way to look at it, i didnt want to give my kids my fear of flying  Good luck in your decision...
