Thanks to some wonderful advice on this board, I contacted Madonna31 and she has worked her Disney Magic and booked us a 10-day trip to WDW!!
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am :Pinkbounc
Since this will be our first trip, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Any things that we "must do" or "be sure not to miss"??
We will be there from May 1st-11th...what's the weather usually like? So many questions.... :rotfl:

Congratulations!!!!

For me... the rope drop and opening ceremony at Magic Kingdom was... well magic!!!!

The weather shop be hot and sunny for the most part. Have fun!!! :thumbsup2

You are going at a perfect time of the year - wonderful (not too hot) weather, moderate crowds and the gardens will be absolutely gorgeous. Don't forget to make your ADR's (I think you can do that right now)! What resort are you staying at? :cheer2:

Congratulations!!

We have fallen in love with everything Disney and we hope that you do too.
Have the best time!! :thumbsup2

I think the weather will be gorgeous at that time. :thumbsup2

Are you on the dining plan? Will you be wanting to do some reservations at the restaurants? (gee...again...all my trip planning comes down to the food level... :teeth: )

You should see if you can do Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle if your little girl likes the Princesses. That's always a hard one to get but I think she'd love it.

Yes and Yes :teeth:

We are staying at POR and Christine has already taken care of some of our reservations. She has booked us for a dinner with the princesses and you are absolutely right...my daughter is going to love it! Even if she doesn't...I will :rotfl:

I'm hoping the weather will be warm, but not unbearably hot. I have heard that the humidity shouldn't be too high around that time of year so I think I should be okay. FH and DD love the heat, but I melt!!!

Any other recommendations? Restaurants?? We are total newbies so we're open to pretty much everything.

:) Oooooooh...you'll love POR. We stayed there a while ago when it was still called Dixie Landings. When we were there, you could buy some fish pellets and feed the fish in the river. They bop to the surface to eat the pellets...and to compete with the darn sea gulls. If they still have that, that's cheap Disney entertainment for your little one. LOL Heck, I enjoyed it!!

Since you're on the dining plan, you should try Le Cellier at Epcot. The steakhouse in Canada! We love it. Every steak I have these days...I sigh and think of Le Cellier. LOL

Ohhhh...I really enjoyed our character breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at the Crystal Palace (Magic Kingdom). Book an early breakfast, before the park opens...and when you're finished, the park will be open and you won't have missed a thing! It's a great way of getting photos of the castle before it's surrounded by hoards of people. And while your waiting to be called in, there's another Kodak moment with the castle (not the usual angle) that many don't take advantage of...You'll see ... :cool1:

I would suggest that you hop over to Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney World Information Guide It's a fantastic resource. Once you go through that website, you'll be an expert!!!

Ooooooooooh...and if I'm not mistaken, you're there during the 14th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. There's gonna be a topiary featuring pirates including a Peter Pan topiary with Captain Hook and a ship! Ok....you HAVE to take photos for us. :teeth:
