One of the advantages to owning at DVC is that it forces you to take a vacation. We had 32 points set to expire on August 1 (which we couldn't bank) so we've booked a little quickie vacation in July. 5 nights in a 1BR at BWV with just us and DD (DS will be working this summer as a camp counsellor). Booked flights on NWA out of DTW (cheaper than either AirTran or Spirit for the dates we were needing) and we're using DME rather than renting a car (we're trying to do this one on the cheap :) ). We're still debating whether or not to add DDP to the reservation, but knowing how large the portions are at a lot of the restaurants we're not sure it would be worth the cost. (I don't like to feel bloated meal after meal after meal.)

We've been to WDW in late August before, but never in the heat of July. I think we'll be looking at a lot of early mornings, afternoons in the pool, and back to the parks at night.

EE here we come! :woohoo:

Good news Mike. I can't even imagine what the heat in July will be like - I can hardly stand the heat right now. We are also making shorter days with trips to the pool in the afternoon.

We used ME and found it really quick and painless.

We were going to do the dining plan but in the end decided that to much food in the heat would be to much, on the flip side it does give you a nice cool place to relax in for over an hour.

Have a good trip.

Mike - when in july are you going?

We're driving and will be there 12th-21st.

See you at the Sizzlefest!

;)

We'll be there 9th-14th, but we arrive early on the 9th and leave late on the 14th. We're still trying to decide whether or not to go for the DDP.

Where are you guys staying? Maybe we could plan for a mini-Cdn-DIS meet at the pool bar one afternoon. :drinking1

Hey Mike.

We are splitting our stay, but 12th and 13th we'll be at Pop.

PM me and let me know what your plans are for the 13th.

I don't mind the heat these days...it helps me slow down and ENJOY! S

That's great that you're getting another quick trip in. I think if you go knowing that it's gonna be hot and busy, you'll be fine because you don't expect anything different. And the parks are open really late, so you'll be able to get in some great time without sweltering ALL the time ;)

The only thing that I found last Aug when we flew and had to rely solely on WDW transportation, the wait times for busses at the end of an evening was absolutely ridiculous some nights. We waited an hour and a half one night for a bus back to POP ... didn't get us back there until after midnight so couldn't even get a cup of tea. :rolleyes2 Just make sure that if you're leaving the park at night, stop at the bathrooms first. :lmao:

Have a great time, Mike and family!
