We're Frugal Not Cheap! May Photopass Share-FULL

OK, 4 of us have said we do not mind if our group remains at 5 even if that means forking over $4 more. (The 5th has not replied yet).

So, the cost of this photoshare group is now $24.

The 2 of you (do I need to name names here?) who have not paid yet can include the $4 with your payment that you promised would be here before April 1st.

I know that the mail can be slow & that not all of you are on the boards everyday, but if I do not receive payments from the remaining 2 by the first of the month, I will open the share up to a new member. If it happens that we go over 5, I will include a refund with your copy of the Photopass cd.

I hope everyone is fine with this. Let me know if there are any questions.

Alright, so not sure how this happened but I have somehow managed to get myself signed up in 2 photopass shares. I think I posted on a few that I wasn't sure if they were opened or closed and then suddenly this lady started emailing me all the information and I just assumed it was Melani...I apparently stopped reading at the "M" (the other woman's name begins with as well). So I have this entire list of instructions I'm staring at that I guess are totally wrong... Did we ever get/send out instructions on how this was going to work etc.?? I am just totally spacing on this b/c I'm confusing my 2 shares. It's why I haven't paid yet either...I thought I had longer and was getting ready to pay the other lady! I don't know whether to laugh or cry! :confused3

Well Jamie dear it's up to you. I can certainly see how things can get mixed-up on the boards.

As long as I pre-order the cd before the 1st photo is taken, which right now is May 16th, your 1st day of vacation, everything will go smooth.

However, if you need to back out, I'd like to know in enough time to find a new member, collect their money & pre-order assuming their date it no earlier than yours.

I know asking for the money 45 days in advace seems far out, but I didn't want to cu it close in case anything came up, like t-ball, Easter, rental home reno & potty training all at once aren't enough; I still haven't got our trip shirts & now my 10 yo might need his 4th set of tubes?! (I thought they out grew that).

This may help untangle things, below is your post on the initial group thread, as well as one I found you had posted on near the same time:

Now which one of you said they had a subscription to UG & TM?
My dates are May23-30, I'll send you my tour plan and....
kidding, although I have made about 20 different plans! I just can't decide on the evening park. We're doing all the am EMH we love those.I can't decide on SWW, is it worth it?

Melani,
Just to reassure you...I did get my check in the mail today!! :woohoo:

Was wondering if anyone has ever done the free customized maps on disney's website??

we did 2 yrs ago.

They are nice keepsakes, they look a little like old / antique maps.
But they're not very customized. I mean it's not like you can plot your route on them & even if you pick the rides you plan on going on you may change when you get there.
They're rather large 12x12?, I'll look tomorrow & measure them.
And I can't remember if they are one park on front & another park on back.
I'd definitely order them since they're free.

The maps are 14" x 20". & they have one page for the World, one page MK (front) + Epcot (back) & one page HS(front) + AK(back)
I've seen them on the net before. I think WildCard or WildCad had pictures of them, but I couldn't find it again.
They have a real old world look, they might look good framed on the wall if it wasn't for the creases from being folded to mail.
But their FREE!

Just an FYI
I've changed my ressie a bit. We are now ck-in at BWV on May 25-29 & SS May29-31.
This shouldn't affect the share any, just thought I'd let you know.

Jamie, I got your check today.

So now everyone's paid up.

If the 1st photo is taken on May 16th that gives you until June 15th to claim them, but we don't want to wait that long. You probably will have from May 23-26 to do your edits with no other photos uploaded yet (lucky you)

Once you add your card# to the account to claim your photos, you have 30 days to purchase . Starting from May 23 that would be June 20.

If the pre-ordered cd is only good for 60 days that would mean I can place the order on April 23. I must have made a mistake when I caculated it down before, I thought it was April12. I'm sorry, I hope this hasn't caused anyone too much trouble.

OK wait a minute, now I'm having a ditzy moment. We don't want to wait until June 20 to place our order. If everyone thinks thay can get their edits done in 4 days, we can order the cd by June 12, so I can pay for it on April 16.

I will share the account info with everyone once I place the order & send a copy of the per-order in case anyone wants to do a $75 resort photo shoot.

I wonder if I can use the shutterfly email address to sign on frugaldisneyprincesses@sfly.com

Does everyone want to come up with an easy password? You can pm me your suggestions. Or I can make one up.

This is just suggested dates. Please give me your input.

:surfweb: member name : trip date >>> upload date:coffee:
1) buckeye76 / Jamie : May 16-23 >>>>> May 23-27
2) PrincessParty / Amy : May 22-25 >>>> May 28-31
3) vargas17 / Krissy : May 22-29 >>>>>> June 1-4
4) Melani / Melani : May 25-31 >>>>>>>> June 5-8
5) Disneytwinz / Eileen : May 25-Jn1st >>> June 9-12

I don't mean to bombard you with info, but let me know what you think of the dates because it affects when I can pre order the cd.

Perhaps we don't want to do staggered uploads since the ones w/overlapping dates will have their phots jumbled together anyway?

Melani, I think the dates sound good. I will get my number to you as soon as we get home. This way I don't hold anything up.

Hey...I wonder if I were to crumple the maps and ink them if they would be nice in a frame...Old world charm?:rotfl: I'm going to try this, thanks for the motivation!

FYI
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2139100
Apparently Photopass is now charging shipping for the cd as of Feb 24. It's $7. I'm not going to ask for any monre money. We can afford the $7.
And the estimated share cost was actually $23.31, so since everyone sent $24 - I'm only out-of-pocket $4.24. Maybe I can catch the cds on sale & make-up the diff.:rotfl:

I just went to order me a new set of maps. I thought I might try to mount them & hang them in my sons' room.

I did not know they also had a "Character" style map.
Instead of the old world look it's white w/ a character.

If you did the print at home version just to see what they looked like, would they also mail you the big one?

Just checking in. The funeral went as well as could be expected on Sat and the out of town family left last night. I think I am just overtired from getting my sister moved into her new place. It is supposed to snow here tomorrow! :confused3 We leave Thursday to go to DC for Spring Break. Hope to get back into the Disney Spirit when we return.(Yes, I hate to admit, I haven't thought much about our Disney trip this past week.) Melani, thanks again for all you do to keep this going.

What an exhausting week (emotionanlly & physically). Hope you have fun & in DC.

Info about Resort Photo Sessions
I saw this on another thread.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2141637

This is the information that I gave the people in a share I am hosting, hope it answers your questions...

NOTE: THIS INFORMATION AND PRICE CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME!!

Disney Resorts Private Photo Shoot - You can arrange for private 30 minute photo sessions with a Disney's PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge (Please note that Saratoga Springs is no longer offered. It's expected to be moved to the Contemporary Resort but no time line has been offered at this time). The sessions includes around 40 photos (limited only by time) taken around the picturesque resorts and their beaches. Please note that as of September 1, 2008, Portrait sessions at the resorts are a separate entity from the Disney's PhotoPass system in the theme parks. While both Parks and Portraits use the same system for their photos, they are separate products. As such, the pricing structure has changed dramatically. There is no longer a discount specifically for guests who pre-order Disney's PhotoPass. Guests who pre-order the PhotoCD or purchase it within the theme parks can reserve a Portraits session for $74.95 with proof of purchase (either email or receipt). You will be given a seperate CD and your pictures will not be combined with the PhotoPass CD that I will receive. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE OPTION TO COMBINE THEM! Also note that Disney's PhotoPass enhancements will not be available for Portrait session photos or any photos from the theme parks combined with it. Additionally, guests will no longer have the option of receiving their Portrait session photos on a Disney's PhotoPass card. You can only book 30 days in advance. Available times are seasonal, starting daily at 8am until 7 pm or sunset, whichever comes first.

Call 407-824-1700 to make reservations up to 30 days in advance or for additional information.

I am not sure if they flag the account after the first person does this. Some people say you can do it as many times as you want. Others disagree. If you are planning to do this, please give me advance notice so that I can make sure you have the proper paperwork.

THE COST OF $75.00 MUST BE PAID ON THE DAY OF YOUR PHOTO-SHOOT, PRIOR TO ANY PICTURES will be taken. You will also receive a package of photo's (printed by Disney) at that time. They were not familiar with the package size, but think school picture package.
