If you all dont mind I am going to C/P my FB updates so you can all follow along on my looooooong journey and the excitement we experienced LOL
Please note this all happened in one day. The trip itself was 15 hours. We left at 4:30 AM, fire at 9:30 PM

"hey gang please pray were coming into Utah and our washer fluid system froze up no choice but to go from here"

We were in a brutal snow storm at the time and had to stop every few miles and have me spray down the windshield with windex then go on.... over and over again. It was finally fixed about 6 hours into the trip. The idiots had used straight water in the washer fluid reservoir which promptly froze solid.

there were a few more but apparently didnt get posted. Something about miles and miles of miles and miles through Wyoming. And I would have done the same thing my ancestors did when they came through 150 years ago... just kept going.

Then this one:
"Made it to Colorado. New house 80 miles to go"

Then this is where the fun really starts:

"met all the neighbours the fire chief 3 firetrucks 2 policemen .Yay we're famous. oy vey going to bed now"

"well after such a tumultous day yesterday I am loving the quiet of today! so far so good"

"Ok really long story short. i am borrowing someones internet. Turned on gas fireplace to have a camp out. Apparently there was a birds nest in the vent. It went up in BIG fire. Neighbour ran to door pounding on it with fire extenguisher in hand. Since he didnt know how bad it was he had already called 911. All neighbours came out to see what happened, Ladder truck was here, another truck policeman, fire chief."

All were safe and sound and no damage to the house.

So all in all it has been a very exciting few days.

the homeowners association president came by night before last and brought a box of cookies for a welcome. They are really nice so far!

Ok back to the boxes. Talk to you all later!

Yikes. Glad no one was hurt.

I guess that's why we get home inspections or have the fireplace / chimney cleaned before using such things. ;)

The window washer fluid has happened to us also. And you have no idea that it's going to happen until you really need window washer fluid. My H is always telling me to tell the guys at the oil change place not to fill it with washer fluid.

The fire is very funny. We had neighbors who had the stupid idea of burning rainroad ties in their fireplace. Flames and sparks were flying out of the chimney. Made quite a commotion in the neighborhood.

What an adventure! You will laugh about this some day!:rotfl:

Have a very Merry Christmas in your new home!:goodvibes

TC:cool1:

Binny you're the best! First day in the new place and you roast a bird for the whole neighborhood.;) Glad you're safe & sound.:)

Well I would have too if I was buying the house but this is a rental. I assumed that it would have been taken care of before we moved in.

LOL yeah I joked with the neighbours that we hadnt had dinner yet and were hungry so we thought we would have roasted bird for dinner. :rotfl2:

The washer fluid thing was really scary. TG I had grabbed a box of cleaners before we left (they wouldnt move that stuff) and we had a bottle of windex in it. That really saved the day being out in the middle of nowhere.

BUT we did find out that our rental company has a great handy man, he came right outt he next day and cleaned it out as well as fixed a few other things that were broken.
