We're Dreaming of a WL Christmas! DEC 2010 INTERACTIVE PTR NEW: 12/9 BYE-BYE!

SO I am reading the article you posted, and I knew this!!!

• Sid, the bully from the first movie who wears a skull T-shirt, appears as a garbage man in the new film wearing the same skull T-shirt.

I knew that was him!!!! I cannot wait to tell Tim that I was right! haha.

Love all the new purchases! Those necklaces are super cute, what a great idea! :thumbsup2

I saw the article, Lynn reposted it on her fb. Interesting! I had a feeling that was Sid but I didn't know they snuck so much of their other movies into TS3! I have to pay more attention next time! :rotfl:

Excellent purchases! I especially love the sunglasses! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! I am very happy with all of them!

Wow! You totally scored on your shopping!!! I'm so jealous.

Amanda

HAHA! Thank you! I am going to try to do a little bit more this weekend. It is so hard b/c you don't know if it will be cold or hot?! UGH! But it is still fun!!

Sorry I'm soooo late to the PTR. I will go back and catch up later!

OH! That is fine! I am so happy that you are here. I am going to need your expert advice!!

Hi Katie!!! I absolutely love your new signature! Its great! I love how you put the dates overtop of the pictures in the pink glitter font! I have to figure out how to put pictures in my signature & add some from our last trip! :goodvibes

Loved the update with all the shopping stuff! Isn't it neat how you can buy something & a few months later find something that perfectly matches it on sale??? I love sales!!! :) I've noticed that Disney has recently had alot of promotions for free shipping & discounts on orders. I haven't been ordering since we were going on our trip, but I'm planning to make a few orders for the kids for Christmas! I'll probably wait until the end of summer or early fall, but if they keep having summer sales, I just might have to order early! lol

The bathing suits were adorable. I let my son pick out his own swim trunks this year (even though he's only 2 years old!) and he picked orange. Its his favorite color, I swear it is, because he always picks things that are orange.

LOVED Toy Story 3!!! I saw it yesterday & it was just great. Even though I am a mom, I usually have trouble sitting through entire movies. I just get restless & feel like the movie is never going to end. Well, I didn't have that problem this time! I loved the storyline & it was sooo interesting to see what would happen next. I don't know what my favorite part was because I just loved the entire movie!!! I almost cried at the end, but I didn't because I was just smiling this HUGE smile! It was so sweet to see!

Thanks for posting those links on your report. I was trying to remember where I saw the carriages for Pick a Pearl. I didn't have a chance to do it this trip (you should've seen the amount of people around the counter!) but I'm going to buy one for next trip. I also started reading the link for the "hidden facts" and I love it! I heard somewhere else that some of the characters from Toy Story were in other Pixar films. I'm interested to finish reading it & share it with my son.

I recently purchased that Hidden Mickey book as well! I took it on the plane & read some of it, but I didn't find as many on this trip as I usually do! I did see some new ones that I never found before, you'll have to wait & see them in my trip report! ;)

To answer your question about what is my favorite purchase for our Disney trips...that's a tough one! But I would probably say clothes & special treats for my son's park/plane bag! I love buying him little surprises, usually they are all Disney related!

HELLO!!!! I am glad that you like my siggy!! It was very easy to make. Just download pics to photobucket...re-size them to small and add glitter text! That is it!!

I am so happy with our purchases as well! My 2 year old son always picks blue and green! I guess they have their favorites even at this young of an age!

OH! I can't wait to read about your HM finds!! My daughter is really excited to look for them. It will be a perfect vacation to do so because it will be a slower pace vacation "stop and smell the roses" type thing.

Disney has been running lots of sales lately!! I am going to do that post next--I am starting to buy for Christmas! I will only have a week to prepare when I return from WDW, so I want to get a jump start!

I hope you are able to pick a pearl on your next trip!! The necklaces were so inexpensive and worth it! My DD is really, really looking forward to it.

We LOVED TS3 so much! Seriously, one of my favorite movies ever. I know what you mean---we were all glued to the screen the entire time! I am glad you liked it too!

I like to make little bags (well, backpacks) for my kids before we leave too!! I am getting so excited just thinking about it! They have great $1 Disney stuff at Michaels craft store! I usually get them a few things there and color books/colors, dvds, etc. I will also post about that soon! I already started collecting for December! I can't wait to see what you got your son this trip!

Cute luggage tags, bathing suits, and sunglasses! We have those carriage necklaces, too! Can't wait to get the pearls to put in them!

Love the article! Chelsea and Connor were arguing about whether or not the garbage man was Sid, so Connor felt vindicated to read that it was him.

Thank you!!! I can't wait to Pick-A-Pearl! My daughter talks about it at least 5 times a week! ha

I am so happy you enjoyed the article!! I thought it was SO interesting!! I am also happy I could help Connor out! Sorry Chelsea!! hahaha

PS: That picture of Chelsea on FB was PRICELESS!!! OH teenagers!

So much to comment on. For one congrats on the impending move. I would love to build a house, but definitely can see the downside, good that your dh has made some good contacts.:goodvibes
Noah would love to go to an imagination mover filming. He has been singing the main song all week. So wonderful that you were able to take Abby and Aiden.
ADR's look great. Fingers crossed on the CP package at LC for you.
TS3, we weren't able to go yet (wedding this weekend), but thursday is the day. I am as excited as the kids! Not sure about 3D though, think we will stick to the 2D.
Love the new things. The carriage necklace makes me want to get one and do the pick-a-pearl for Chloe. We are trying to plan a trip for october, just waiting on a good pin.
Finally, fav thing to purchase is definitely clothes. I always end up having too much.
Oh, one more thing I would use the swimsuits now. Not all the time, but atleast a few. Everytime I save something for a special occasion, I get sad when they only wore it a time or two because they grew out of it too quickly.

HELLO!! Thanks for all the wonderful comments! We are excited about the move, but I really dislike moving all of our stuff! It will be a headache for sure!

OH TS3 was SO good!!! All ages just loved it! I saw grandparents, toddlers, teens, parents..everyone was laughing so hard! I can't wait to see what you think!

I just decided to buy the necklaces because they were only $3.50!! They are very good quality and my daughter is so excited. I hope that you get the chance to do it if you go on a trip soon!! Crossing my fingers for a PIN for you!! I know there are some good ones going around right now!

I agree, I am going to pack the swimsuits. I think, though, I am just going to have them wear the suits in the pool and not the beach. I don't want them to get dirty! (haha I can't stop the OCD!)

Clothes are so fun for me too!! I just love finding cute Disney stuff---especially at the Disney Store!! I have some exciting news to post soon about FREE Customs I got!!!!

Great purchases!! I loved those Cinderella carriages when I saw them on Becky's FB-- that's so sweet that you and the girls on the trip will have matching necklaces! They're gorgeous!
I couldn't pinpoint my favorite item to shop for! If it's Disney-related, it makes me happy :goodvibes From a new VB hipster to travel sized soap :rotfl:, I get a kick out of it!

YES! Becky is the one that told me about Rinky's post! I am so happy she did, my daughter is so excited!!

HAHAH you are cracking me up!!! I love to buy my VB as well! Seriously, isn't it fun to go to the travel sized soaps and shampoos and just buy it all?

This our first time going ever. I am very excited!!!! My dd doesn't know yet, I am planning on telling her in August.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a wonderful trip for you and your daughter!! I am so happy for you---can't wait to hear all about it. Are you writing a PTR or TR?

Wow, you've been busy shopping :)

Great finds! I got my friend the Hidden Mickey book as part of her wedding present as they were going to WDW for their honeymoon! She loved it.

My most favorite WDW purchase is a black portfolio that I use at work when I go to meetings. It has an embossed Mickey cleaverly placed on the front and in the inside there are black and white 'darwings', almost cartoons, of Mickey. I love it cause it's just a bit of Disney that I can have with me but not be obnoxious about it!

I have been busy!! It seems like there is always something else to buy! We are really enjoying the HM book right now! I can not believe how many there are!!! It will take forever to see them all---I can see why people make a hobby out of it.

I am always on the lookout for subtle Disney things like your portfolio. It does not SCREAM Mickey, but still allows you to get your Disney fix! hehe I would love to see a picture!

Woo-Hoo! Disney shopping! The swimsuits are adorable. :thumbsup2

I need to buy the Hidden Mickey book for our next trip. My 15 year old loves to look for them...the book would be perfect for him!

Steven Curtis Chapman at the Candlelight Processional would be amazing! I love him. Saw him at Women of Faith last June and he is really an incredible person.

Thank you!! I just love the swimsuits! Can't wait to use them!

I am so excited about the HM book. I can not believe that there are SOOO many!! you should get the book. It is small and thin...easy to bring to the parks. My DD loves the fact that you get different points for each one. Makes it a fun game!!

I love Steven Curtis Chapman too!! I can not believe you got to see him live---so great!!! I think he will be an amazing narrator!

Wow - love your Disney purchases! I think the sunglasses and swim suits are just so precious. I would wear them to the beach and then pack them up for the Disney trip, that way you will get the ultimate use out of them. I recall swimming in November when we went, so you will probably get lucky and get to swim in December, too. Unless we have one of those freaky winters like we had last year!

I like to purchase Disney themed clothes and put them away for my future Disney trips - especially when I find them on clearance. I found some at Walmart for DS and they were only a dollar. A bit big now, but by next year, they should fit fine. :thumbsup2

I also like to buy snacks (preferably Disney themed, like fruit snacks and such for my little one) and also have a few Disney themed items to give him throughout the trip so he doesn't feel the need to have all of the expensive souvenirs they have throughout the parks.

Thank you!! I decided to bring them to the beach. I just want them to swim in the pool with them and not the ocean. That way, they will stay nice and bright for the trip!! I am so happy you got to swim in November. Makes me excited that we may be able to!

I love buying cheap Disney clothes for our trips! They are the best finds..I get so excited! ha.

My kids LOVE their Disney fruit snacks. Have you seen the Disney Classics fruit snacks with Dumbo and Peter Pan? So cute!! OH what a good idea to bring treats for them so that they don't go crazy in the parks!

Hey! You bought some really cute stuf. The luggage tag are adorable.

OOh, I am going to have to read that article. Thank you for posting that.

I love Steven Curtis Chapman. Cinderella was the song that I danced to with my father at my wedding reception. It is a great song.

Thank you! I have to say, the luggage tag is my favorite purchase!

Oooohhh what a GREAT wedding song!!! How sweet, I am sure it made your Dad cry!

Loved all your purchases!! The Minnie bathing suit is just too cute!

That's great that you get SCC for the CP! You got lucky! That should be very special.

My favorite Disney purchase ever would be the carriage necklaces b/c it was such a special moment during our trip. However, I love to buy/make cute outfits for my DD and make matching bows for everything. I also had great fun searching for our McClaren stroller (which is awesome btw). The big items are fun, but I even get excited over finding Disney hand wipes! Oh, and looking for Christmas items for our trip was fun too. I found Santa hats for us at the Dollar Tree to wear to MVMCP!! That made me very excited!

I am very excited about SCC!!! Now to get Le Cellier for the CP package and my life will be complete! ha.

Thank you SO much for letting us know about those necklaces!! I am sure the Ebay seller owes you BIG by now! I really want a McClaren! We are renting from Orlando Strollers for this trip, but I want one for our use at home. I am glad you like it! They seem really easy to push!

Christmas Disney shopping seems to be even more fun than normal Disney shopping!! What hand wipes did you find? Are they green with Winnie the Pooh on them?

Your DD is always dressed so cute! I love buying fun stuff like that too...stay tuned--I have big news! I am getting FREE customs from a friend!! LOTS of them too! More later!

SO I am reading the article you posted, and I knew this!!!

• Sid, the bully from the first movie who wears a skull T-shirt, appears as a garbage man in the new film wearing the same skull T-shirt.

I knew that was him!!!! I cannot wait to tell Tim that I was right! haha.

I know!!!! I am so happy you liked it. When I saw him, I was like "wait, he looks familiar" hahha. Glad I could help you prove Tim wrong ;)

:rotfl:

Thank you!!! We are so excited to use the necklaces!

I loved the article!! I know--I kind of felt like a bad DISer for not seeing ANY of those clues!! Oh well, just an excuse to go see it again, right?

We'll be there the same week!! We are booked at WL!! You'll LOVE being on the monorail at CR!! We stay at the Poly a lot and it is sooo nice to have that access!! :goodvibes

Hey, I am in, we're actually going Dec 1st-4th. Staying at the Boardwalk Grand Villa, having a Grand Gathering ourselves. It will be fun reading what you have and maybe giving me idea's to do as well. I can't wait popcorn::

I just caught up with everything. I love your trip binder. How very creative! I don't do a binder, but I have a notebook and a folder! I buy the Vera Bradley mini notebook with pocket for my trip journal and I write down all of our ADR's, park hours, etc on the front few pages. I also keep receipts in an envelope in my Hipster.

All of your ADR's look great! I really hope you get the CP package at LeCellier. We ate there last June and it was fantastic.

Madison wore that same Jessie shirt to TS3 last week and we saw another little girl wearing it too! That movie was excellent and I really want to see it again.

Great shopping purchases! It actually reminded me that I needed to buy the pearl cage! (I saw it on Becky's PTR). My birthstone is a pearl (bday is tomorrow!) so I really want to pick my own in Sept. I can't believe how inexpensive the cage and chain is! The luggage tags are soo cute. I would have bought them if I didn't already have a bunch of tags.

My cousin got married on Saturday night and for the father/daughter dance, they danced to "Cinderella" by SCC!

Here are the pics. I bought it 3yrs ago at the store at POP.

Thank you!! I love the way my binder is turning out---and it is really helpful so far too! I love the VB notebooks! What a great idea to get the one with the pocket that you can bring to the parks! I will have to use that idea :goodvibes

We are praying for LC, but, I will still be happy with Chefs if it doesn't work out  Happy early birthday!!! I would love if my birthstone was the pearl! You most def. need to get the necklace then!

Lynn (here on the DIS) danced to that song with her father as well! I just love it!! Really excited to see him at the CP!

Thanks SO much for the pics :goodvibes What a pretty notebook!! I just love it. I will have to be on the lookout for it in the parks!

I have bought those Disney snacks, actually! I'm such a sucker for anything Classic Disney. And I remember thinking that I hoped these were still around for when we go back next year.

I have the same one! I think I only took 1 page out. And it was for trip planning lol I know it's stupid, but I feel like I wanna keep it as a souvenir. But I know I should use it before the paper becomes yellowish hehe

I know what you mean!! I try to even save the boxes and bags that they come in :lmao:

Hang in there! Hopefully You will be able to get Le Cellier ADR later on. :goodvibes I am 99.9% sure our larger size party will have to be split but when it is the seven of us, we are hoping we can stay together. Not sure how it will work, it may also depend on the place.

QOD1--We have not seen TS3 yet, but we hope the one little local theatre will play it before we go. It normally takes a few months, so it may be August before it shows. DD still has not seen the first two, I know bad DISer :scared1:

Cute luggage tags! I am considering buy a cage before we go for mine and Lilian's pick-a-pearl too but I may just wait and see what they have. I need to get another swimsuit or two for DD, she is growing out of the ones we have for this summer so I am afraid that by September, the ones I put back may not fit. Plus we will need them for May...:rolleyes1

QOD2--Hmm...favorite thing to buy for our trips would probably be outfits or sewing materials for the items I am making for the trip. :goodvibes

nice update!!!!

I agree with the cages! I did Pick a Pearl at TL in March. I wanted a necklace since I already had a ring from July 2008--around $50 with CM discount, with picking pearl, pearl, and setting.

My necklace this past March was $200! The most expensive thing: the setting which was well over $170. I don't wear it every day but every once in a while! I ended up getting some money from when my grandma passed away a year ago so I used the money to buy that because I always loved her jewelry box when I was little so it's a great thing for me to keep in the end!

Thanks for providing the links, I'm going to check out the tags and the cage!

We always take the Hidden Mickey book with us and then we always end up leaving it at the resort or forget we have it with us haha.

I am so happy you enjoyed the article!! I thought it was SO interesting!! I am also happy I could help Connor out! Sorry Chelsea!! hahaha

They seriously argued back and forth about it half the ride home from the movies. Connor definitely feels vindicated. :rotfl:

PS: That picture of Chelsea on FB was PRICELESS!!! OH teenagers!

I cracked up when I looked over and saw her doing that. I was trying to take a picture without being caught. ;)

Gotta love teenagers. :lmao:

Question of the Day:

quest.jpg

“ What are your favorite items to purchase for your WDW trips? Clothes, supplies, traveling accessories, food, books?”

This trip my favorite items to purchase have been the gifts I plan to leave as Tinkerbell presents each morning for the kids. On our last 2 trips I think pins from ebay for DS to trade were my favorite thing to purchase.

Looks like you are off to a great start with your purchases.

That is a great idea!! I did that on our first trip, and I think I am going to do it again this trip. I might get Disney stocking since we will be there in Dec and have"Mickey" put stuff in them every night! My DD is just getting into trading pins. She loves it! I will have to look on Ebay. Any tips?

I am hoping to get LC!!! Becky said that she and her group of 7 always sat together, so I hope that you can too!!

OMG you MUST see Toy story 1 and 2!! Go rent them and then go see 3  I know you will love it!

The Disney Store is having a big sale on the suits right now. The cute reversable ones are cheap! About the cage necklace--look at the post below this one from TinkerbellLuvr7:scared1:

I agree--outfits and materials are a favorite of mine too :goodvibes

OH wow, well, I think that it was well worth it to have such a nice memory of your grandmother :goodvibes Your welcome!! The tags are the cutest things!! You can put either your address or phone numbers on the back.

HAHA you are the 4th person to comment about leaving the HM book behind! I better make sure to pack it in my park bag

I forgot to mention something about the Hidden Mickey book. We bought it for our DD last June and she just loves it! Our DD's are around the same age, so your little girl is going to love it too. We didn't use the point system though. Whenever we were standing in line, we'd pull out the book to see which HM's could be found on that particular ride. You guys are going to love it!

That is what we are hoping to do too :goodvibes My DD is 7, how old is yours?? She liked the idea of points now but, honestly (like you said) we will just look for them for fun when we get there!

I wanted to ask you---have you ever brought a VB backpack to the park instead of the hipster? Thoughts? My hipster rubbed on my shoulder last year and I was thinking a backpack may be better:confused3 It could fit more too...

The stocking is a cute idea. Mickey could leave it on the first night with a note for them to put it out every night.

As for tips about pins, buy more than you think you will need b/c trading is addictive. I bought a bulk lot on ebay that made the pins less than $2 each (including shipping). And I don’t mind if there are duplicates b/c that way the kids can pick the ones they want to keep and still have traders. Oldest DS is the only one who has pin traded in the past but this year we are going to let the 2 younger ones try, I don’t know how confusing this is going to get b/c our rule is you only put pins you want to trade on your lanyard, any pins you want to keep go in my park bag – I read stories of kids accidentally trading pins they wanted to keep and I didn’t want to have that happen. I think it’s neat how DS will pick a theme each trip and then try to find as many pins as he can to go along with that theme.
