We're Celebrating our Marriage with a trip to Disney World! Itinerary final touches

:scared1: The Electrical Parade!! That was one of my top things on my list to see, and I can't believe I forgot it! Well we will probably be standing there at about 7:30 in a good spot to see both the parade and the fireworks.

Thanks so much for mentioning the parade and looking up the times for me. On the DW site, I could not find where they posted show times, so thank you! :goodvibes

I am glad I reminded you. Sounds like a good plan

No problem. I love researching disney things :goodvibes

yeah, I don't normally use their website a lot because always so inaccurate

I use allears :thumbsup2

Oh ok! I was using allears to check out menus. Never thought to look for times and stuff there. Good to know! Thanks again. :)

We are booked! We are booked! We are booked!!!!

As you can tell, I am really excited!!!!! :dance3::banana::cool1::cheer2:

We will be staying at the Pop Century Resort from April 16th-23rd.

I upgraded us to a King Sized bed instead of the doubles. Dillon really wanted to stay in a more "resort" looking hotel, but I just couldn't add on the extra money, so I hope the bed helps a bit.

Our flights are kind of ridiculous for layovers, with 2 each way, but it saved a lot of money, so I am not going to complain.

Now I have to work on booking ADR's and figure out which days to do which parks! Woohoo!!!! :cheer2:

Getting married in just over a week, and leaving for WDW in just over 2 months. So much to look forward to!

Hootie Hoo!! DH and I love Pop and usually stay in a king size room too. It's a crash pad really so who cares what the room looks like? :goodvibes Really though, it's a great resort and the food court is pretty good too.

I am actually pretty excited about the Pop. Dillon isn't so much. He wanted more of the "resort" feel. That would have been nice, but you need more money for that.

The disneyworld.com site worries me a bit, even though I have email confirmations of everything.

When I first log in for the day, it tells me I have 67 days left, and it's said that same number for 3 days now. It also says I have only 2 reservations and not 7. When I click on the reservations it shows me my full list of 7, but then says I have no rooms or packages booked with them, and the "67 days" no longer shows up. Is this site that glitch-y for anyone else?

Their site is very glitchy

If you had reservations emailed to you, just print them out and take them with you. You will get something mailed to when a tad closer, as far as your room and tickets

As far as your ADRs, I just put them all in my cell phone..confirmation number, name of restaurant and what day

It will be fine :goodvibes

Great PTR! We're going to be in the area around the same time, and working with similar timeframes.

It's exciting, huh?? :)

Yeah like Kelly said, the WDW web site is VERY glitchy!! I had to put my conf # in multiple times as well as ADR's #'s. It'll be ok :goodvibes just keep all your #'s written down somewhere you can access them on your trip and all will be fine.

HELLO!!!

I'm SOOOO Excited to see you are going on a Disneymoon!!!

I'm sure you will be happy with Pop Century as most people seem to love it! For us there was no way I could book a Value as the thing that I think saved the trip for hubby and I in 2009 was being able to use the hot tub at night! Unfortunatly there are not any hot tubs at the values. :confused3

Just a word of caution on EMH at WDW. Most of the guidebooks will tell you to avoid those parks as they can get extremely crowded! They say if you feel the need to go to a park for EMH then you should have Park Hoppers so you can hop to another park later in the day hen it gets crowded.

A Site I have been looking at that gives suggestions of what park to do which day is easywdw.com

I like most of your food choices! There are two I wouldn't book but its all personal preference.
#1 is Sci-fi Drive-In... I hear its great for the experience but that the food is not so good... We went to 50's Prime Time on our DHS day and enjoyed it
#2 is Rainforest Cafe and that is simply because it is a chain and can be visited elsewhere! I've heard Boma is good at Animal Kingdom Lodge... if you go there than you could explore that resort which everyone appears to love!

Hey Paula! Glad you're here!

Thank you for the tips! I had heard about the EMH thing, and I don't think we are at any parks during an EMH. I made sure of that! :goodvibes For our last day, we might go into MK for the evening as it's open until 1:00am. We will take our chances that day I think and do another park earlier in the day. I took someones advice and got us park hoppers just in case one park might be too busy for us one day.

As for the food. I might take a look at the menus for the ones you suggested and think about switching if the food is not so great. Is the food at Boma better than Rainforest Cafe? I only ask because we don't have those here in Canada. And you can go to Boma after park closing, right?

I have added a few things to my itinerary, thanks to some very helpful DISers! :goodvibes

Day 1 - Monday April 16th:
Up and out the door by 6:30am
Depart Calgary @ 9:50 am.
Arrive in Orlando @ 9:45pm
Take Magical Express to Pop Century
Check In - I paid an extra $129 for a preferred room. Does that mean I get to pick a king sized bed or does it mean we get a view? I was confused by that. View isn't as big a deal as the bed. Doubles are small! And do I pick at check in, or was there something I was supposed to fill out during booking?
Sleep

Day 2 - Tuesday April 17th:
Magic Kingdom (9:00am-10:00pm)
Hope to make Rope Drop - About 8:00am?
Lunch @ Liberty Tree Tavern @ 12:20pm
Find spot for parade and fireworks around 7:30pm (Is the Partners Statue the best spot like at DL?)
Main Street Electrical Parade @ 9:00pm
Wishes @ 10:00pm
*Look for Stitch in Tomorrowland

Day 3- Wednesday April 18th:

Epcot (9:00am-9:00pm)
Character Breakfast @ Ohana's @ 10:00am
Dinner @ Biergarten @ 6:10pm
Illuminations - 10:00pm (Best spot?)
*Look for Stitch at front gates

Day 4- Thursday April 19th:
Hollywood Studios (9:00am-9:00pm)
Dinner @ Sci-Fi Dine In @ 5:45pm (May change to 50's Prime Time)

Day 5- Friday April 20th:
Free Day
Character Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's @ 10:50am
Browse Boardwalk Resort
Browse Downtown Disney
Dinner @ Earl of Sandwich

Day 6-Saturday April 21st:
Animal Kingdom (9:00am-6:00pm)
Character Breakfast @ Tusker House @ 10:05am
Dinner @ Rainforest Cafe @ 6:30pm (May change to Boma-what do you think? We don't have RC's in Canada, or at least not Alberta, so never tried them, but would also love to see the AK Lodge)

Day 7- Sunday April 22nd:

Last Chance Day
No Reservations for this day as we don't know where we are going to be
Most likely go to Magic Kingdom in the evening as it's open until 1:00am

Day 8- Monday April 23rd:
Home Day
Flight @ 8:30am
Magical Express to arrive around 5:45am. UGH!!!! Really not looking forward to this, since we are planning on taking advantage of the late Magic Hours the night before. Well, at least we can sleep on the plane in between stops, right?
Arrive in Calgary @ 5:49pm

I've heard the EMH for evening is not as bad as it is for morning! If you were the ones paying for the park tickets I would recommend not having the Park Hoppers and just adding that option when you need it but since I assume your dad paid for the package as a whole it is best just to leave them as is!

I've actually not eaten at either Boma or Rainforest Cafe. I've just read wonderful reviews of Boma and not so good ones for Rainforest! Boma is open after AK closes as it is at a resort. In fact you could probably go to any resort restaurant for dinner that day! Some ideas would be Cape May Cafe Clam Bake Buffet at Beach Club (a good bang for your buck on the dining plan!), Kona or 'Ohana at Poly, The Wave at Contemporary, 1900 Park Fare or GF Cafe at Grand Floridian.

I think you must be at the very end of Spring Break as it looks like most restaurants still have availability! Including Yak & Yeti inside the park for 5:45pm! That would be cool cause then you would be in the park after closing!

I didn't add up your dining points but if you have an extra TS you could do a Signature Restaurant or even a show! I recommend the Hoop de Doo Review!

Sorry if I gave you too many options! :goodvibes

No, all those are great options. So many things to choose from! How is Yak & Yeti? Have you tried it? And I counted the number of dining points to the number of nights we are staying at the hotel, is that right? 7 nights= 7 TS meals, 7 CS meals, and 7 snacks?

We probably won't use the park hoppers as hoppers too much. It was a just in case a park is too busy and for our last day where we will probably do two parks. My Dad did pay for most of it, except for the flight, but I picked out the package.

I haven't been to Yak & yeti either! It gets pretty good reviews on the Dining Review section though! Have you been over there? I love reading Dining TR's!
We actually had a reservation there but were not hungry AT ALL when the time came around so we skipped it!

We had the Deluxe Dining plan so our dinners were mostly Signature restaurants. When we go in October it will mostly be signatures again with a few others thrown in!

No I haven't been to the dining review section, I am going to have to go check it out.

The deluxe dining plan sounds so awesome. I wanted to get that, but it was just too much. We are used to having 3 meals a day, so not sure about 2 and a snack. We have a few buffets booked, so we will probably take advantage of that.

Andrea, if I don't get the chance to talk to you again before your wedding next week know that my thoughts are with you. Have an amazing wedding!! :bride:

The cost of the Deluxe Dining Plan does add up! Did you book your package using the Room Discount? Or no special Offers?

There was a 20% off the dining plan with the room that we booked, so we did get a deal on that.

I am reading a food trip report now and it is making me hungry. And they are posting pictures of coke, and it's making me want one so bad! haha.

Thanks so much Michele! We will have a great time. I hope you do as well and I hope the weather holds out for you. Have an amazing anniversary trip.

Oh... I never saw a % off Dining Plan deal... was that for Canadians or the regular WDW site?

Yes, the Food reports can make you hungry! but its a good way to get a feel for a restaurant besides just looking at the menus...
