We're Celebrating our Marriage with a trip to Disney World! Itinerary final touches

So I had a talk with my Dad today, and it sounds like we can book our trip either tomorrow or Friday!!!

I think for budget reasons we are going to go with the Pop Century Hotel, but still do the Magic Your Way plus Dining plan.

I will update again once we are officially booked. Eeeek! I am so excited!

Oh I am so excited for you. This is so exciting!!

We are booked! We are booked! We are booked!!!!

As you can tell, I am really excited!!!!! :dance3::banana::cool1::cheer2:

We will be staying at the Pop Century Resort from April 16th-23rd.

I upgraded us to a King Sized bed instead of the doubles. Dillon really wanted to stay in a more "resort" looking hotel, but I just couldn't add on the extra money, so I hope the bed helps a bit.

Our flights are kind of ridiculous for layovers, with 2 each way, but it saved a lot of money, so I am not going to complain.

Now I have to work on booking ADR's and figure out which days to do which parks! Woohoo!!!! :cheer2:

Getting married in just over a week, and leaving for WDW in just over 2 months. So much to look forward to!

WOO HOO

Pop Century is great and their food court is awesome!!!

wow...2 layovers each way.....well you got to do, what you got to do...at least you are saving some money doing it that way at least

:dance3:

Oh I am so excited for you Andrea!! This is great!! :bride:

Yeah our travel days are going to be pretty long. Here is our schedule:

April 16th
Depart from Calgary @ 9:50 am
Land in Winnipeg @ 12:42 pm
Depart from Winnipeg @ 1:50 pm
Land in Minneapolis @ 3:14 pm
Depart from Minneapolis @ 5:35 pm
Arrive in Orlando @ 9:45 pm

April 23rd
Depart from Orlando @ 8:30 am (too early, but it was the best price)
Land in Atlanta @ 10:13 am
Depart from Atlanta @ 12:25 pm
Arrive in Toronto @ 2:32 pm
Depart from Toronto @ 3:40 pm
Arrive in Calgary @ 5:49 pm

So a lot of different stops...the plus side is, I have never been to any of those cities before. Except for Calgary of course. Just too bad we aren't at each one long enough to see anything but the airport.

Hi, Andrea!

Just read through your PTR - I saw you were doing a honeymoon one, which is what I'm also writing about. :)
So happy you got to book your hotel today! Pop Century is awesome. You're gonna have a blast!
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Best wishes and can't wait to read more!!! :wizard:

So we have booked the Magical Express to take us to and from the airport. Does anyone know about how long it takes to get from the Airport to Pop Century? We are arriving pretty late in the evening, and just want to know what time we can expect to be getting to bed, since the next morning is probably going to be pretty early.

Hi Danielle! Thanks for stopping by!

I will have to jump over to your PTR and check it out. :goodvibes

I was going to ask if you had ever visited any of those places.:rotfl: That makes them like little mini-vacations.

Magical Express should not be too bad that last at night

I would guess about 45 mins, hr tops

Since you are arriving that late at night, I would recommend grabbing your own luggage and not letting Magical Express get it for you.

When you arrive earlier in the day, then there is no issue with them getting your luggage for you. That is my favorite part about magical express, having your luggage magically appear in your hotel room a couples hrs after you arrive.

:wizard:

So, I have busy making reservations the last few hours. I was worried that with it getting closer, that some of the places I wanted to eat at would be unavailable, but we lucked out.

I am not going to plan out our quick service too much and just play it by ear for those. With not a whole bunch of time, I don't want to be running everywhere for certain places all the time.

And here is our itinerary and I will add more as I figure out times, etc:

Day 1 - Monday April 16th:
Up and out the door by 6:30am
Depart Calgary @ 9:50 am.
Arrive in Orlando @ 9:45pm
Take Magical Express to Pop Century

Day 2 - Tuesday April 17th:
Magic Kingdom (9:00am-10:00pm)
Hope to make Rope Drop - How early?

Wishes @ TBA - Does anyone know what time this is normally at and where the best spot is and how early we have to be there?
*Look for Stitch in Tomorrowland

Day 3- Wednesday April 18th:
Epcot (9:00am-9:00pm)
Character Breakfast @ Ohana's @ 10:00am
Dinner @ Biergarten @ 6:10pm
Illuminations - Time and best spot???
*Look for Stitch at front gates

Day 4- Thursday April 19th:

Hollywood Studios (9:00am-9:00pm)
Dinner @ Sci-Fi Dine In @ 5:45pm

Day 5- Friday April 20th:
Free Day
Character Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's @ 10:50am

Browse Downtown Disney
Dinner @ Earl of Sandwich

Day 6-Saturday April 21st:
Animal Kingdom (9:00am-6:00pm)

Day 7- Sunday April 22nd:

Last Chance Day
No Reservations for this day as we don't know where we are going to be
Most likely go to Magic Kingdom in the evening as it's open until 1:00am
Might be an all-nighter as our flight leaves at 8:30 the next morning.

Day 8- Monday April 23rd:

Home Day :(
Flight @ 8:30am
When I booked the Magical Express, I posted our exact flight times. How long before the flight do they pick you up?
Arrive in Calgary @ 5:49am

Thanks Kelly! I will make note of that. Get our own bags. :goodvibes

:cool1: YAY, congrats on booking your trip/honeymoon!!!! :cool1:

Magical express pics you up about 3 hrs prior to your take off time

You will get a tag on your door with your magical express pick up time on it

If MK opens at 9am, then I would guess be at the bus stop by like 8:10?

I never do rope drop as I don't do mornings, so not sure

Let me see if I can find time of wishes for you for that night on your itinerary

Okay, I looked and for entire month of April, Wishes at MK will be at 10pm

Since you have never been to WDW, then I would recommend positiioning yourself somewhere near the castle so you can see Tinkerbelle fly. People start staking their places at least an hr before hand, so don't wait til last min.

Also, every night at 9pm during month of April, is Main Street Electrical Parade. So that area going be swamped.

If you want to see the parade, I would line up about 8pm. One of you can hold your spot, while other goes and gets snacks and drinks. I find that helps past the time while u waiting for parade and then fireworks to start :goodvibes

I am really not sure where to tell you to stand for Illuminations in Epcot. Just wherever you stand, try to not have a tree in front of you. You want to be able to see the large globe in water.

:scared1: The Electrical Parade!! That was one of my top things on my list to see, and I can't believe I forgot it! Well we will probably be standing there at about 7:30 in a good spot to see both the parade and the fireworks.

Thanks so much for mentioning the parade and looking up the times for me. On the DW site, I could not find where they posted show times, so thank you! :goodvibes
