Were castmembers held hostage during POTC movie premiere at DL???

Not me, but my two 'putor geek DS's share a little info with dad every now and then ;-)

Not trying to apologize (Disney seems rude) but what are we really talking about:

1) The free food wasn't very good and was in limited supply,

2) CM weren't allowed to watch the movie

3) In order to prevent people from videotaping the movie and/or audience windows were blacked out.

4) CM were kept away from the party. Go to a catering hall and the kitchen employees stay in the kitchen and the people who are going to clean up don't come out until after the guests leave.

Maybe it could have been handled a lot better but the real issue is that the CM were not invited to be part of the party. I think at least some of the complainers are CM who thought they'd be part of the party (see celebrities, eat and drink with them).

Except they knew exactly who the inivited guests were

yeah, and the CM's working that day were also known.

If I worked their as a part timer ,earning a few extra dollars, I would have knocked someone the hell out and took the job loss. Granted I don't condone this action to someone else but it would have been what I would have done. Everyone puts their pants on one leg at a time like those who were formally invited.

To me it has little to do that they werent invited to the party but were treated as indentured servants!!!!! If they dont want them to see the film, fine. But there is no reason to herd them into a darkened arena and hold them hostage till the party is over when they are then expected to be grateful for the treatment they received and go out and perfom in a flawless manner to people who obviuosly(in disneys opinion)are much better than they are!!!!
They could have been allowed to go somewhere where there would have been proper lighting, allowed to receive(even at their own cost)proper food and been treated as valuable employee's rather than a bunch of peasants!!! This was a classless act by a class company!!!!!
But of course the "apologists"think this is a fine way to treated your employee's(and are also at a loss as to why moral is bad).

Bob, where has anyone said the employees were treated fairly. I see everyone stating that they were treated horribly, and I think they could probably swing a unlawful imprisonment lawsuit.

My post which started the trouble was merely pointing out a logical reason "why", because I feel that it is wrong that it was done to clear out the riff-raff that everyone else seems to think.

I don't think I'm an "aplogist". I agree Disney was rude. Calling them hostages is a little extreme (poetic license). They were being paid and some of the them punched out and went home.

I still suspect some of the complaints were from CM who thought they were going to be included in the party.

I've never been to Disneyland but I wonder why they couldn't find a place for the CM that could have been illuminated (far enough from the movie).
