I just booked my honeymoon for March 08.. MK view in the Poly .. Platinum Package. It will be both of our first times at Disney World.. The Platinum package includes a pre-trip itinerary planner from Disney, when will they be getting in contact with me? Is there a number to call if I don't hear anything? I want to be sure we get all the reservations that we want before we get there.
Thanks for any help!! :)

OK;
make sure you take full advantage of your package. One of my favorite; not secret things to do is a dinner at the california Grill @ the top of the Contemp (make sure you book for optimium fireworks viewing), also take advantage of all your plan offers, book recreation, rent boats from the marina. You should also look into (depending on the type of food you like), Artist point @ Wilderness Lodge, as well make sure you mention that it's your honeymoon to the CM who checks you in. Where will you be staying when you come?

Yea, I pretty much have a list of everything we want to book. It's just a matter of getting the list to the planner. heheh
We're staying at the Polynesian when we go down, Magic Kingdom view.

I'm not sure but I think Platinum package and MK view at the Poly may very well be Concierge level...is that correct?

If it is, the concierge staff at the Poly will most likely contact you about 90 days out for any special requests you might have.

You can check out this thread for more concierge info:

If there is something you want to do that is extremely popular (i.e. Cinderellas Table dining) you might want to book that as much as 180 days out.

If that level isn't concierge, I'm not sure who your pre-planning contact would be...maybe you can call Disney back with your confirmation number and get more information.

Wow, what a wonderful choice! I don't think you automatically get concierge level room when you book the Platinum package. They're different things.
That being said, it may well be the resort concierge who helps you.
I'd like to think that you just give them a list of where you want to eat, and they make it happen - I don't know if you need to worry about "not being able to get a table".

If I were doing the Platinum Plan, I'd eat at Victoria and Albert's at least twice. But that's me. I love it there. Wow. Maybe I'd eat there evey night.

Do you know what the per night charge is for the Platinum Plan? I can't find that info anywhere.

Nope, concierge level doesn't automatically come with the package. It was a toss up between concierge level or platinum package and we chose the package.
I figure thats the idea of the pre-planning too, just say this is what I want to do, tell me when to do it hahah

How is Victoria and Albert's? DF and I are only 22 and we don't really have that sophisticated of food taste.. I was looking online and some of the food options seem a little iffy to me and as much as I'd like to eat there, I don't want to waste it if I'm not going to like any of the food options they have..

I'm not sure what the platinum charge per night factors out to be.. I didn't really do the math.. and don't really want to know what I'm paying per night to be honest hahah But it's our honeymoon so we might as well do it up since we'll never spend like that again..

The Victoria and Albert's menu changes daily, so what you see online won't necessarily be what you would get when you're there. You don't have to have a sophistocated palate to enjoy it, but if you're not someone who has fun trying new things food-wise then it might not be for you...
It is lovely, and very romantic, though.

I have always wanted to try the Platinum type plans, there are so many cool things to do. I think I'd never seen my fiance, though. He'd be playing golf the whole time.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon! My fiancé and I will be getting married on March 8 and will be at the World from the 9th through the 17th. We will be staying at the Grand Floridian in a Theme Park View room on the Platinum package. When will you guys be there? Anyway, have fun planning! I know I am.

hahah that's funny.. I just replied to your topic.. We're getting married on the 8th as well! and are heading down the 9th to the 14th.. any idea on how the pre-arrival itinerary planner works?

I have no idea... I'm a pretty big planner myself and so I hope to have a lot of it planned without their help. Although, I will take any help that they will give me of course.

I am really curious how this works out. It would be a great second honeymoon idea. How did it all get set up?

We did the platinum package in July, and our platinum planner got in contact with us a little bit before the 180 days out. We e-mailed back and forth for about two months before we left, making sure that we got all of the ADR's and tours that we wanted. One of the perks is that every restaurant, including Victoria and Albert's, is only considered one meal. So for three meals a day, we could eat at all the signature restaurants (Except breakfast because it isn't offered there.. heh). It was a TON of food, and we really only ended up doing a TS breakfast and a signature, but it was so relaxing. I loved Victoria and Albert's, I even ate things that I never in a million years thought I would like but somehow it was all amazing. All of the tours are included as well, so we did the Segway tour at Epcot, the tour at the AK, and the KTTK at MK. We also went on the wishes and illuminations cruises, took advantage of the fantasmic seating, and got pampered at the Grand Floridian's My travel buddy went fishing twice and went horseback riding at Fort Wilderness. My last day I left after everyone else, and I went to Wolfgang Puck's Express at DTD just because it's my favorite counter service ever. The manager saw the "MYW Plantinum" on my KTTW and pretty much told me I could have whatever I wanted, and asked me a thousand questions about the plan. I LOVED it, and while I won't be doing it again anytime soon, it was definitely worth the money. Have a great honeymoon! :)

Did anyone ever tell you what to do if your itinerary planner doesn't get in touch with you?? We're going the first week in February and booked the platinum package (our honeymoon too, although we got married in September - trying to avoid hurricane season and escape the Missouri snow). We're past the 180 days out and booked two weeks ago, but no one has gotten in touch with us...

We can't wait - we went with platinum because we wanted to do the all-inclusive thing (although I wish I had known about gratuities no longer being included, that's annoying but not a deal breaker) and love horseback riding, parasailing (we can do that in February, right?) and eating like pigs. And everything else!
