We had the greatest time. We were a family of four with a 3 YO and 6 YO and we just had the best time ever! We stood in NO LINES for more than 20 minutes (those were Pirates and Crush) , we rode Soarin twice, we got in a great room at POP Century (which we ADORED and are TOTALLY staying there again), we did two cinderella meals and one stitch meal......and we had little or no temper tantrums, and the heat was bearable.

We went to the parks three days (non hoppers) Epciot, MK, AK and feel we did and saw plenty (we are TGM'ers and WOW!) and probably won't go back for a couple years (taller kids!)

A couple warnings in my mind right now:

Animal Kingdom is about 10 degrees hotter. Apparently all those rainforest plants actually REFLECT the sun back on you!

The Soarin stampede was craptastic. I took a little bit of time in it because hubby and DD ran ahead, and I had a stroller (which I DO NOT recommend having in a crowd like that!), and I saw one example of a truly rude couple.....A family with some young ones was trying to get over to the side of the fast walking crowd (guess it was too much for them) and they held up this couple a little bit. The woman (late 20s, old enough to act a little more mature) made an exasperated sound, and her hubby said really rudely "GAWD! MOVE!". I coulnd't help commenting on that little display of ghetto-ness.

Ummm, lets see..... Thats about it. I think pirates is overran a bit b/c of the movie, an it's not really all that. I did catch the end of a jack sparrow show, which I loved!

Maybe I'll do a trip report, but probably not... :) :confused3 No time!
But I would be happy to anser any Q's about TGM, heat, children, POP, etc

Glad you had a great time! We leave Friday for a 3 day weekend (yikes) with our two little ones, so I'm glad to hear the heat was bearable and the crowds not too horrific! Not sure if we'll be able to pull off the no-temper-tantrums thing, but we expect the occassional one of those anyway, even from the kids! ;)

Glad you had a great time. This is my first year using TGM and I'm excited. Pirates is my favorite ride. I don't think I ever had to really stand in any line all the times I've rode it. I'm afraid that might change this year. Although with TGM, I probably shouldn't worry too much. :thumbsup2

I was about to ask what TGM was and noticed an ad above for....Tour Guide Mike.....so now I dont need to know. :thumbsup2

...we are staying at Pop for one nite...at which section did you stay??? (pix please... )

Did you go early to the parks each day? I am traveling with older adults and they would like to go to the parks at 4 after hanging at the pool all day?

Just how hot is it? I will be there in 31 days. I'm very nervouse about the heat as I don't do well in the heat and humidity. I think I hav eover active sweat glands - sorry tobe gross...

Anyway, any idea, or guess as to the hottest and coolest temps? I assume the night was better then the morning?

we stayed in 50s- very close to everything. I would not recommend 80s or 90s section- ever. too far!

i think it was mid 90s. i think epcot is the park with the most "cool" attractions, where as AK is the hottest park overall

I did go early. I just don't know about that late night stuff. Maybe if you go in off season??? I would recommend joining Tour Guide Mike and asking opinions over there on that kind of timing.

I am so glad to hear you liked POP. My hubby and I are going for the first time together. Neither of us has been in about 20 yrs. We are staying at POP (preferred room, whatever that means) and are there for 7 days. We can't wait. I am alittle upset at the moment, I threw out my back yesterday. Something I have never done and hope it will be up to the trip. Luckily, we have a month to go. Please send me you get well vibes, I know they will help. :goodvibes

We stayed in the 90's last year at POP and I have to say that it's not that far from everything. In fact, by cutting through the parking lot to the bus stop it's actually closer than other "better" sections. The walk to the main pool/food court is like 5 minutes. I know most people consider it to be the worst section in terms of distance, but I wonder how many of those people have actually stayed there. Just my 2 cents. :)

Glad you had a good time! We just got back, last night, from a five day stay at POP also! Unfortunately, I WILL NEVER GO IN THE SUMMER AGAIN!!!

Our experience was a total opposite of yours! lol I thought it was so stinking hot and crowded...never again! All I did was sweat...well, yesterday wasn't that bad. Lots of people everywhere we went. We did arrive at the parks a little before they opened and used Fast Passes, so the majority of the rides weren't long waits, but, the nights we hopped to another park...forget it! Either all the Fast Passes were gone or the waits were very long. For instance, yesterday we went to EPCOT. When we left (around 1ish) the wait for Soarin was 115 minutes!

At some point Monday, the line for Space Mountain was across almost to Astro Orbitors. Again, this was either late morning, early afternoon.

We're used to early November...great weather and not bad crowds. That is when I'll be going from now on.

I also wasn't thrilled with POP. We were also in the '50s building. It wasn't too far from the main building/bus stops. The food court was always a mess. The drink stations always had spilled soda on the counters. The floor was always sticky. I understand that it's crowded, but we've stayed at All Stars, and it wasn't like that...could be now, I don't know, it's been a while since we've stayed there.

Good luck to everyone going over the summer!

I agree with you about Pop. We will not be staying there again. We went in
April & it was just too noisy. I have a 13 yr old & 17 yr old & I was also sick
& tried to sleep during the day-forget it!!! Next time we will be trying POFQ.
