I happen to like them. I wish that our photographer was a bit more creative and did some pics like this.

Dd's photographer did a couple of them at dd's wedding. And I really like them, I think they add a little flair to the album.
Here's one:

And here's another one:

I wish. We got married 10 years ago and all we have are boring set up posed shots. I wish we could have afforded a true photojournalist.

I love the shots Keli posted.

If I could change anything about my wedding it would be the photography.

The 3rd one looks like they are in the desert looking for the mother ship that happens to look like an "L" in a circle. I don't mean that to be nasty, whatever type of photo people like is fine with me.

Actually, now that I look at it again, looks more like a beach type area.

Yes, and they are honestly some of our favorite shots. We were married 7 years ago (tomorrow!) and hired a true photojournalist to capture our day. Here are a few of my favorites shot like that:

(btw - we hired 2 photographers who both carried real cameras (a color and black and white each), not digital so excuse the scan.)

She also got lots of more traditional ones, too. It was a good mix. I do think sometimes anyone with a DSLR camera who can shoot a pic sideways declares themselves to be an artistic photographer but for some, they can work both styles in to create a stunning snapshot of the day.

First one- check out the guy in the back though? that kind of ruined the photo for me.

And nope we were married back in 1990.

My brother had a couple in his album- they were married in Miami and the photos were amazing!

Kelli that first photo is beautiful!

None of mine were shot like that, and they weren't the traditional 'posed' type, either.

We did have a lot of 'off-center' shots like these, that I love:

But to be completely honest, I had to scan through all of them on my computer because I couldn't remember!

none from my presonal wedding but I ahve taken many of them, usually to incorporate something in the background and only on things that I would use in their photo album and not expect a big print of. I design each page myself with no help so angled pics are not a probelm of how/where to place.

I like the photos - but I admit I tilted my head to look at all of them!

Yes. Wedding in '03, many of our pix were like that.

No, but I must be in the minority here in liking those photos. In all honesty, we wanted to hire someone to do photojournalistic shots like that, but we really couldn't afford it. Yes, they're a bit odd for a frame, but that's not what they're intended for. You get the regular posed shots to frame, these sorts of photos turn your album into a work of art.

Yes yes yes. Exactly.

We have none in a frame (we finally got the CDs and rights to the pix so that'll be coming soon, b/c if people think photopass prints are expensive, you haven't met our wedding photog!) but once we do, they won't be the off kilter shots.

But they look awesome in our album. And our album was made by the photog's wife (she runs the place and does the albums), and was able to make diamond shapes for the funky pictures, so we're upright but the photo isn't straight up and down, etc.

The parents, however, HATED their parent albums. :( Which cost more money than I care to say, but were part of our overall package. I should have thought of that when choosing the pictures for them, but I was pregnant by the time we were making our albums, so I can blame it on pregnancy brain.

I think the composition of photo number one is excellent and I really like it - the castle helps too. :) I don't like the second two because they're not framed as well. You have to take a really good picture for this effect to work. So tho I don't have any wedding photos, I'd be happy to have really whatever the photog came up with - as long as it's darn good. I'm pretty particular about my photos, but not against any particular special effect.
