We're All MAD here! SPAZZ hands, cupcakes, booze, and running...GSC Feb. 2015 PTR

I actually can book for her, I have to call it in and my boss is supposed to call and give me the run down of what I need to do. So I get to be stressed and freaked out until it's done. Definitely going to find that TR!!

Cool! :thumbsup2 The TR is linked in my signature!

Oh and if she's just doing the Princess Half and not the Glass Slipper Challenge, it won't sell out as quickly!

I'm so slow about updating! It's been a crazy few weeks, October is always really busy for petsitting. I'll have a little quieter few weeks (I HOPE) and then it will pick up and not stop all the way through the holidays. I guess I should update now, while I can!

I've officially started training! :woohoo: I'm in week two now, all is going well. It's actually been pretty slow going since I have been running 4 miles, three times a week and this calls for slightly less the first couple weeks! I'm excited to mark off the runs though, I am funny like that. :p I am going to follow Galloway pretty much completely this time and see how it goes. Last year I made my own training up and I think I tried to put too many long runs in and overtrained. I believe that's why I was injured, so even though I feel like this training looks super easy/light, I think it will be the right amount for me. :thumbsup2

I did have a race scheduled for last Saturday that was more than the training called for, but it ended up that I only ran 3.1 anyway. :rolleyes2

I was so excited for this 10K, but it didn't work out how I had planned. I had a client text me about .25 miles into the start with an emergency and I had to run hard to the 5K split/finish and stop. I was pretty upset, but luckily I already had a 10K time submitted to Disney and everyone has to have a bad run/DNF someday, right? This was mine. Live and learn! If I hadn't checked my text when it came in, I would have finished but then I would have felt horrible that I missed an emergency...stuff happens!

We celebrated Savannah's bday last Monday, she had her closest friends over and naturally the theme of the party was Ed Sheeran. I'm sure you are surprised! :p

She has such an amazing group of girlfriends. They have literally grown up together, being homeschooled, and I adore these girls!

She had a blast opening her gifts, her friends give her the most thoughtful gifts that are usually hand made and personal. She loved them all.

It was a great night! Later in the week they headed to the pumpkin patch. I couldn't go because of work, but I heard they had fun.

So that's been my last couple weeks. Slightly less hectic this week but the boys have to get in and get signed up for spring college classes already and we have Halloween festivities going on this week too! Hope you have a good one!

Boo, hiss! I didn't know you didn't finish! That really stinks!

And man, did we luck out with this group of girls. Seriously lucky, lucky, lucky! :lovestruc

I happen to LOVE the Galloway training method so far. All 1.5 weeks of it in- I think I like it because it's only really 3 runs a week & since it's 'official' I don't feel heavy guilt not doing more (Because I feel like I should!). And I honestly don't have time to do more than 3 runs a week. So it's perfecto for me! :thumbsup2

I am still struggling with motivation and yesterday's run I dreaded it ALL day. I had a really bad day at work. Really bad. And I got home & it took all my energy to put my workout clothes on and head out.... it was cold, windy & my spirits were low.

On the run I felt like I struggled. I didn't even make my intervals. I kept having to walk. I even walked a full 3 minutes when the wind was blaring at me face on at one point till I got past it. I got home and looked down and realized even with all that, my average pace for the 3 miles was 11:15. I have not done that fast in over 1.5 years. I have no idea how I managed that especially since I did SO much walking. But clearly my anger at the day had me doing my run intervals FAST! (Which explains why I was having to stop to walk so much.. I was running way too fast!)

And in the end.. I smiled. Because somehow, I did it! Even when I think I'm not... I CAN!

And now I just have to manage to get your stuff mailed to you. One small step at a time. Hahahahahaha!!!! :)

I VIVIDLY remember a run like this last year when it was windy! I swear, no one talks much about wind, but it is BRUTAL if you are running into it! I was crying during that run I was hating life so much! I'm glad you got it done, I never feel bad once I'm finished! :thumbsup2

I haven't mailed your leggins to you either! So we're Tweedles yet again. :dance3:

I just wanted to do my tweedle mandated reporting.....

I did indeed start the training yesterday. And.... it sucked. I will never understand why I can do 6 miles 2 weeks ago and then struggle with EVERY BREATH IN MY BODY to do 2.5 miles? Especially when my variables are the same.....

My body is dumb. That's what I'm blaming it on!

But I did it. Next up. 3 miles this weekend. (only I'm doing 4 because. you know.. I am SUPPOSED to be doing 10 miles in TWO WEEKS!!!)

Good luck on your 10K. You will do awesome!

I think my body is dumb right along with yours...10 miles already! Heck so not in my training plan anytime soon...scratch that I have the Tri Wizard Challenge Scheduled for December. What a stupid month to do a 5K, 10K and 15K...it better not snow and mess up my plans for get friggin cold with wind that is all I am saying!

Ok, well let me do MY mandatory update......I've run 0 miles this week, maintaining my personal best!! :lmao: I've actually worked a 40 hour work week this week --- no fancy holidays like Columbus Day to interfere with my time! I've written at least one update to my own ptr (it may have been 2 --- I can't remember). Let's see, I've joined a photopass share for February (for the one day we'll be at EPCOT) for $22 oh, and our vehicles were ransacked last night in our driveway.........yep. That's about it!! :lovestruc

Don't you just love a 40 hour work week...nothing like getting in the way of other important stuff.

Is Karen cracking the whip on you girls???? What is it with the MANDATORY REPORTS!?

AWESOME JOB...sometimes running seems to be the best medicine there is...sadly though it is not cheap, so maybe we should sick with the drugs! :rotfl2: Seriously, you did awesome!

3 run days is so doable...until stupid fall/winter, daylight savings time...all that hits comes along. UGH!

Wow, has it really been since before Halloween that I've updated?? Oops. :confused3

Not tons going on with trip planning at this point but tons going on with the holidays!

I'm sure most of you concur with that. It's week 8 of training and it's going REALLY well! I went back and read my blog (which was like a journal for me) from last year and it made me really excited. I'm training with way less pain than I was last year at this time. :cool1:

I think there are a couple reasons for that. First off, I spent all summer long building my running strength by never pushing my mileage too high. I felt more ready than ever to go up in mileage by the time training started. Also, I have run intervals on my long runs. This was a big mental block for me for a LONG time. I just wanted to RUN the whole thing. I know a lot of people go through this.

I have this fear that if I start running intervals, I won't be ABLE to run straight when I want to. I have seen other people mention that they cannot run for more than a few minutes "anymore" because they were so used to intervals now. My solution to that is to run my short runs without intervals. I can run 4 miles straight with no issue and that makes me feel good, but I can also be smart for my long runs and do my intervals and benefit from it! I've been doing 5/1, which works well and the difference in how my knees/feet feel is astounding. I think the break from the constant same running motion really makes a difference. I ran 8 miles on Saturday and although I felt a little swelled and stiff, there was no pain! (did I mention I did it in a poncho b/c it was freezing cold, foggy, and drizzling? Yep, I'm a bada$$)

IMG_20141206_093937.jpg

more like a dork. ;)

This is a big deal to me since my goal for the PHM is to run it without pain. The pain really put a damper on my FUN and enjoyment of the race last Februrary.

Oh my gosh, those of you that aren't runners are probably asleep now.

I don't think I can possibly post all the pics I've taken since I last updated, but I'll do a bit of a picture dump here and see how many I can fit...

as for the trip, we have FP+ coming up on December 21st! :yay: Other than that, I think everything is in order for the trip! My Tweedle even got her airfare! (hey Nicole, you didn't tell me what time your flights were. Are we arriving around the same time Thursday???)

now I have to go look mine up, I forgot when I arrived. I think 10:30am or something.

I'll leave you with pics of my preciousness...our medals to be! There's some discrepancy on whether they will be gold or silver, I think silver, but I like them, they are pretty and a little different than last year! Excited to have those three in the middle!!

Hey, just popping in to tell you I started a PTR... link in my siggy! :woohoo:

ETA: I *might* have mentioned that you're to blame for my Disney addiction and accused you of being a member of the Mouse Mafia in my intro. Maybe. I can't remember now...

I have not been on the dis in a few weeks, totally slacking.

Enjoyed your pictures.

I love the tweedle headbands. so cute!!!

glad your training is going well :thumbsup2

Thanks! I haven't been on much either, it's crazyholidaytime! Also, the DIS app for androids is broke and they have no intention of fixing it, so less time for me if I can't pop on with my phone. Hope all is well with you!! :goodvibes

Wait, they have no intention of fixing it?!?! That's frustrating... and makes me reconsider switching when I'm tired of my old iPhone.

I finally just deleted the dis app for that same reason.:headache:

Goodness, I am behind on reading the DISBOARDS...

First off, you look somewhat sketchy in one of those running pictures. Like I might be scared that you were going to rob me if I met you on a running trail.... #sketchytweedle. (see hash taggin' without instagram...cuz that's how I roll)

Oh, I hope the medals are silver vs. gold..... and I think we need to also start working on our neck muscles to hold ALL THREE OF THOSE BABIES on the cupcake crawl!!!

I am so happy your training is going better this year. Mine is too (compared to Wine and Dine) and for me I think it's the moral support I found... I can not believe we are on week TEN of our training.

Now if I could just get someone to do all the work piling up on my desk, I'd be a happier, more carefree Dum.

FIFTY NINE DAYS! Woot! :yay:

Yep, I was #ninjaTweedle! Looks like I will be again for the 9.5. Ugh, talk about support...I'm going to have to text you and make you force me to get out there and do it I think!

Me too!!!! I think they are going to be silver since that's what they were displaying at the Rock-n-Roll half. I'm excited about it, I love the silver! Last year we would giggle and say "GLASS SLIPPER!" or CHALLENGE each time we heard a glass slipper challenge person coming in the parks...oh yea, you could hear them a mile away CLANGING CLANG CLANG CLANG...as those medals hit each other! :scared: Perfect. We'll be dressed like tweedles and clanking loudly. Like we weren't already going to be drawing enough attention with our antics??? :rolleyes2

Yep, it really helps to have a group that is supporting one another! When I see someone else do a run or struggle to do one, it give me the motivation to do it as well. :)

Oh yes, I will be saying this starting Christmas Eve! I am SO slammed Wednesday through Sunday, I don't know how I will spend a moment with my family! I'm always busy on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this is the busiest I have ever been. Yay money! :thumbsup2

FIFTY NINE DAYS! Woot! :yay:

Haha! Finally caught my brain up with my days! GO 59!!! :cool1:

I'm finally all caught up, Karen. I'm glad to hear that your training is going so well! It looks like you have a fun trip in the works! How did your FP+ day go?
