We're All MAD here! SPAZZ hands, cupcakes, booze, and running...GSC Feb. 2015 PTR

Hint taken. ADRS. We need to sort it out. If you want to do dining plan we can do that soon. I have to get Lindy off the ressie & can put our dining on at the same time.....

I also need to um... I dunno.. START RUNNING AGAIN. Moto has been super low. Well, low is over-estimating it. How about.. non-existent. I have registered for 3 races for the fall and hopefully that will get my rear in gear!

That is one nice perk of the job! :thumbsup2 What a beautiful barn/pool/landscape.

Nice selfie. But isn't the point of the selfie to be 'real'? I need to find a way to edit double chins and zits out of mine. :)

I feel so disconnected lately. We've both been so busy. We need to intensify our tweedleness here soon! :)

Yeah, I draw my realness line at my zitface. :p

I forgot you had to take Lindy off! Yes, we'll get on that. Notice I haven't really been getting anything done or making any decisions either! I don't know where my Disney-planning-spirit has gone! :scared:

Intensify our Tweendleness. Got it! :dance3:

I see the girls are off to camp...more time for you to RUN, right? :rolleyes1

On the trip(s) front, thanks to Ann, I was able to call Marriott World Center in Orlando and get a MUCH cheaper rate reserved for the Playlist Live trip. I know I haven't given a ton of info about this trip but that's mostly because there's not much to give (AND it's not a Disney trip, really) In any case, it's February 5th-9th, 2015 and it's a Youtube convention. We are going to do a whirlwind day at MK, but other than that, it's not really Disney related.

YAY!!! Glad I could help!!! :cool1:

I'm excited to train for the GSC. I am just making sure I have a good strong base before adding in the back-to-back runs and the mileage. I definitely don't want to run injured again!

Yeah, NO RUNNING INJURED. I still am in awe you did that. Well, that and continuing on until what time that night? You are like the energizer bunny!

Sounds like you have a wise plan... good base and then build mileage. I am sure you are going to do awesome!!!

We don't really have a list yet of ADR's...which is bizarre for me, I usually have it all worked out months before I can make them. Better get on that! :thumbsup2

It is coming up! I don't know what day you are planning to arrive but ADR day for us is on 8/23  which is right before we leave for the DL half.

TweedleDum and I have still not sorted out our ADR's. We have one month from today to figure them out. :teacher:

:scratchin given when you posted this I am gonna assume we arrive the same day.

Training has been good this week, even being busy for work, I found a way to fit in 4 runs. :thumbsup2

I like 4 days a week much better than 3. I think after the dl half I am going to go back to my "normal" routine.

I did speedwork and ran my fastest 2 miles in over a year. 10:05 and 10:20. My lungs were on fire but I feel like throwing in some speedwork is helping my endurance on longer runs.

That is awesome! Are you following the galloway plan (run a specific number of 800 meters with (I think it is) a 3 minute recovery? I hit the point of 10 sets and I just found running around a track way to sad. So I changed the way I was doing it. Still - adding in that recovery does not such nice things to my pace... but man do I need it.

Then I did a little Glass Slipper practice by running the following day as well, with Dallas, my son. We took it pretty slow and it was one of those really enjoyable runs.

Those are the best runs!

Speaking of Dallas, he's been driving a bunch, trying to get ready to get his license. He's turning 19 next week and just hasn't gotten it yet. Neither of my boys have, I blame living in the country on this. They just haven't really had anywhere to go and no interest? :confused3 It worked well for us because I was told our insurance would go up HUNDREDS of dollars for two teenage boys, so at least we were spared that for a while.

None of my kids have been anxious to get their licenses. In fact, my youngest son still does not have his. He is almost 19 too.

I got in a 4 mile run yesterday morning, and a really cute selfie too, if I do say so myself. It only took three tries for this shot, that's nearly a record for me, I usually have to take about 20 to get a decent selfie. :lmao: See Tweedle, it's all about persistence. and photoshop. Don't forget that. I have a big zit in real life, but you'll never see it b/c I edited it out. And sunspots. and uneven skin.

So the key to good selfies is editing? Cause you always look great in your selfies!!!

AND, to finish off my crazy week, one of my favorite clients headed out of town and told me to enjoy their pool! Every summer they go out of town and I get PAID to watch their pets and lounge by this beauty...

20140721_140431.jpg

That is an awesome perk!!!

wow, that pool looks amazing. Great perk :thumbsup2

I just have energy at Disney, I would NEVER be able to pull that off at home. I'm in bed by 9pm every night and that's without running a half marathon and touring the parks!

Sounds like you have a wise plan... good base and then build mileage. I am sure you are going to do awesome!!!

We'll be taking the 10K really slow and stopping for pics, so I think it will be fine. I'm excited to run without injury this time! (knock on wood)

Yep! I have the 23rd on the calendar for ADR's! :thumbsup2

I have to be careful with 4 days a week, I tend to get injured if I push myself too much. It doesn't look like they actually have you run 4 times a week THAT OFTEN on the Galloway training plan for GSC, just every other week but not until you are something like 8 weeks in? :confused3

I'm going to follow Galloway's mileage/days trianing, but I don't run intervals usually. I will probably run intervals on the short run day before my long mileage because we are going to run intervals for the 10K.

Editing and taking a MILLION of them until you get it just right!

That is an awesome perk!!!

Definitely an awesome perk! :thumbsup2

wow, that pool looks amazing. Great perk :thumbsup2

It's great! We have been swimming at this client's house every summer for years, we really look forward to it. This summer it was only 2 days, but beggars can't be choosers! ;)

Whoohooo! I have a relevant update!!!!!!! :cool1:

I booked my airfare today with Southwest for the GSC!!!!!
southwest.jpg

It's a double-WOOT though b/c I booked it for FREE!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 I had enough points for a free flight, there and back, which is a good thing b/c money is in short supply right now. I will be arriving on Thursday, Feb. 19th at 10:30am and leaving Monday the 23rd at 3something (which means noon for DME). I'm so excited! This is just a big thing off my list that I don't have to worry about.

I also nabbed rainbow run leggings for both of our Tweedle Costumes! I've been waiting for these to come back in stock, they came in a couple months ago and sold out before I could even get them, so this time as soon as I got the email that they were back in stock I jumped!

As for actual running, I haven't run since last Wednesday! :scared: I ran and walked dogs last Wednesday and started to get some really painful tendonitis foot pain in my left foot. I could barely walk. I have been really careful all weekend and tried not to overuse it (which is hard when I was slammed with petsitting) but it's a lot better and hopefully I'll be able to run tomorrow morning with my furry client that I have scheduled.

We hit Six Flags last week one more time and had a great time. I tried really hard to relax at the waterpark lazy river...but it's just not enough like Disney. It LOOKED ok, but if you look closely at this picture, you'll see WEEDS growing up through the ratty lounge chairs. It was pretty rough looking.

I also tortured myself by going up in the massive ferris wheel again. It was even scarier this time since Savannah wasn't with me and I couldn't focus on HER terror. :lmao:

It was a fun day!

This is Savannah's collage she put on instagram, thought I would share it.

AND, Friday was Dallas' 19th Birthday! :goodvibes We didn't do anything fancy, but there was a batman cake involved (he loved that!) :lmao: and pizza. He's so amazing, I could gush over this guy for ages. :lovestruc

Dallas19085.jpg

and a wee-picture of him, just b/c I'm nostalgic and miss my little kids. I adore them now too, but it goes SO fast!

whoo hoo on getting the flights booked! It's true that you seem to relax more when you have that portion done ---- at least I do! I'm very happy for you. Love those socks!! Can't wait until you show a pic of the costume all put together. Yeah, um, has 6 Flags heard of a lawnmower? I don't think I would sit on those chairs. Ick! But the girls looked like they had a good time. And you don't look too awfully scared on the ferris wheel. Good job! No kidding on the kids growing up fast....sheesh! Victoria is a permitted driver now! OMG!!! She was just born!!!

YAY for airfare booked :thumbsup2

Cute leggingsprincess:

I like Savannahs Collage. Love grumpy cat stand.

Happy BDay to Dallas :cheer2:

I relax SO much more once I have the flights because then no matter what it seems like you can't cancel the trip, ya know?!?! I was so excited to get my flight with points too, I wouldn't have been able to afford the flight with cash right now and this is one less money stressor to worry about! :thumbsup2

Oh I was terrified on the ferris wheel. I guess I'm more afraid of heights than I thought! :scared:

Thanks! Savannah is a bit obsessed with Grumpy Cat.

Ah, there's your flight times. No need to send them via FB now! :)

I am going to try to book around the same arrival time/departure time! It will make Tweedle planning much easier that way!

Yay for getting flights! I still have too many to stalk I mean book... it has my head spinning. :confused3 Using points is excellent! If I were flying alone I think I might have enough... but I am pretty sure that I won't be able to fly on sw for the phm. Looks like we are going to try and do a red eye (and likely arrive right around the same time you do on the 19th) and I do not believe that SW does red eyes. We may even be on the same DME given we are headed to the same place, yes? :scratchin I can't remember for sure. You are at AKL?

Happy 19th (I know it was days ago) to your ds. Time does go by ever so fast. Seems like my older ones were just wee ones not long ago. They didn't stay small long enough and now are off and doing their own things (except my almost 19 year old.. he is still here... probably forever )

Large ferris wheels are not my thing... at... all. So you are VERY brave for going up in one!!!

How cool if we were on the same DME!! :thumbsup2 Yes, we're staying at AKL! WOOT!

It's crazy how fast they grow, I remember hearing people say it, but EXPERIENCING it is different. I find myself randomly tearing up and missing my little ones sometimes, or missing that period of our lives. It's great to have them older as well, but sometimes I just miss it!

Yay got flights! Need to work in this when I get back tomorrow! Debra...Cammy...Amy...and I need to talk things out! I am not liking SW schedule for return flight...

At some point I will have to get airfare. However since it is the last in my trips I have others to get first. Add in my travel buddy has her own long list of trips that are tapping the old bank account... it could be a while. Course, should something end up being too good to pass up we will definitely jump on it. I know she will want to arrive the morning of 2/19... so that I know for sure. once I do know the time I will be sure to post it. :goodvibes

And on the kids... yes, it is one thing to hear other say it goes by fast but an entirely different thing to experience it. It is almost like you have to mourn the loss of those little people. Every now and again I see a glimpse of them in my adult children and it really pulls at my heart. :cloud9:

Can't wait until you are home and in full-PHM planning mode Tammie!!! :thumbsup2 It's been awesome seeing all your pics though and living vicariously through you!

Oh man, that nearly made me cry! YES. I've said that before that I feel like those little bitty kids are GONE. I love who they are now, but I miss them sometimes and then I see a little glimpse and it nearly kills me! No one tells you how hard parenting is from this vantage point. I was laughing with Savannah the other day because she was saying she didn't want Elsa (the kitten) to EVER grow bigger...she was HER BABY...and I told her I felt the same way about her. ;)
