We're ALL 50 here! And maybe a little MAD too.....a 50th anniversary/celebration/ Party TR *WHO 'DIS? Update 12/20*

I can't believe it was over a month ago!
LOL we down here sometimes forget :rolleyes1
Oh, you can....

Once.
Haha!
Once.
Not sure I recognize them.
I knew they were a bit sketchy when they came in! Imposters!

All right! 05!

:rotfl:
We do our job right!

Sounds like you had a fabulous work trip and that you were shown the love you deserve for doing whatever it is that you do :confused3
Aw thank you, it really was a good time.

What is it with Disney and prix fixe menus? It’s ruling out so many places for me to eat in the future and even though that is likely at least half a year away a girl has gotta know where she’s having dinner several months down the line even when she’s no clue what she’s eating at home tonight. Worst part of being a grown up is waiting on your mum to make dinner and then realising that you’re the mum:rotfl:
That is so true! On the prix fixe AND not wanting to make dinner lol!
We don't care that much about prices, if the food is good. But whenever they do a prix fixe it seems the food quality really goes down and that's what stinks.

ou’ve brightened my Friday morning with your update so thanks for that.
Yay! That makes me happy!
I did see your post in Kari's dining report and I wish the best for your DH
I am so glad you were honored for doing the job you love so much because it isn't as easy at it looks, and you so deserve the appreciation!!!!
Thank you Jackie :love2: I appreciate that you appreciate it!
see I would've been taken care of at this event :) :drinking1
:rotfl:
I love this!!!! Happy 0-5, Walt Disney World!! PS Love Steve's shirt!!
Partying like it's 1976!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Since I work in retail, I am dreading all of next week because I will be working a million hours! But after Thanksgiving, only 15 school days til Christmas!!!! :)
Ugh I do feel for you. At least maybe the days go fast at work since it's so busy??? But again, it means your Disney trip is just around the corner!!

Your work event looks amazing. It is nice that Disney put on a nice event for you and your agency. :)
I have to say as tiring as it was, it was pretty amazing. They did right by us!
I had lucked into an opening for Be Our Guest for our Sept trip. The food wasn't bad, but the crazy busy dining room was a put off. And our waitress forgot our wine. ;)
Well there is NEVER an excuse for forgetting wine! LOL I don't like the ballroom and that's where we ate last month. I like the music box room; library? I forget what it's officially called and I also prefer the rose room (which I actually think is the library) even though it's dark. I think the ballroom feels like a cafeteria.
We saw Enchantment from the main hub with a good view of the projections but the fireworks were behind a tree (it was a crowded night). I think I'd rather see the fireworks than the projections.
I definitely rather see fireworks than projections which is why I loved and miss Wishes!
Welcome home!
:thanks:
Your work trip sounds like a great success. It's great that you came away with the credit you deserve.
It was! Really makes what I do feel so worth it :flower:
That will get you a spanking, lol!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:poop:
Um so much of what we do in Disney could get us a spanking :cool1:
LOL! I hadn't seen this before.
I didn't notice it until I went to put it here lol
It has so snuck up on me too. Though I bought groceries weeks ago and froze everything in a moment of supply chain turkey fear
I was afraid of no Thursday turkey too but we finally went for that last night and scored what we needed :thumbsup2 I do need fresh pies though and am crossing my fingers the local orchard up the road isn't out on Wednesday cuz' we like 'em real fresh!
I have no clue what you do but clearly you are really good at it
:P
Of course like you mozz and meats would have made me happy
I was giddy when I saw all that! SO much better than on past trips
For the record the camera does show you the inverse of what you're doing. But happy 5th birthday Disney :earboy2:
Well I know that now! We were scrambling to try and figure out which way it would show up. We figured we had a 05-05 chance we'd get it right....................

And I would be losing my mind with the Dapper Dans!
We ALL did! We expected Minnie and Mickey since they came last year (and of course showed up the last day) so this was a HUGE surprise!
Awesome! I am not a big BoG fan but I agree that it is pretty.
It was good that we got a dinner inside the park that day so definitely better than nothing. And it wasn't terrible! I just wouldn't eat there again unless it was a similar situation where I really felt I wanted or needed to eat in the park and we did want to be there for the show.
tubs of Quality Street and Cadburys Hero’s, After Eight and Bendicts mints.
Ok now I need to go google ALL these treats because other than Cadbury eggs I have no idea what they are :rotfl2: But if they have sugar in them I'm sure I'd love them!!

We don't care that much about prices, if the food is good. But whenever they do a prix fixe it seems the food quality really goes down and that's what stinks.
It’s a bit of both price and quality for me. Oftentimes we spend much more than the cost of the prix fixe for 3 out of the 4 of us but with one person not really fancying a big dinner on any given night and wanting to either just have apps and dessert or whatever so our overall bill can be higher than the prix fixe especially when you add in wine etc. I do think it becomes a bit like mass produced school dinners when they go down this route and the quality definitely suffers.
I did see your post in Kari's dining report and I wish the best for your DH
Thank you. It’s a bit like catching a sighting of the elusive yeti on EE waiting on him to come out of the bedroom to pick up his meals ( have to leave them on a tray outside the bedroom door so we are more than 2 meters apart at all times) but so far he’s doing ok. He says it comes in waves were he has nausea and bad headache but that the waves are coming less often and lasting for less time which is good. I dread to think how bad this could have been if he hadn’t had all 3 jabs!
Ok now I need to go google ALL these treats because other than Cadbury eggs I have no idea what they are :rotfl2: But if they have sugar in them I'm sure I'd love them!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: oh you poor deprived soul there is clearly a whole world of chocolate you’re missing out on. Don’t even get me started on “Celebrations” and “Matchmakers” which are also Christmas favourites here. My dad would put a Terry’s chocolate orange ( you have them right- I know Joe and Jenny have featured them in a vlog once) and a giant ( break your teeth in an effort to eat) toblerone in our stocking each Christmas. After I got married he sent one of each for my husband too. I do the same for my kids and son-in-law every year. This year they’re wrapped and ready for their suitcases as it’s the Danish Christmas for my daughter and her family this year  I will miss them all so much especially the grandkids so I’m doing lots of Christmas stuff before they go. Covid needs to go do one 🤬🤬🤬so our plans can go ahead 🤞

Now that the 1st was over, and it was so much more enjoyable than we expected it to be, it was smoooooth sailing for the rest of the trip! Hakuna Matata friends. If the crowds and wait times weren't bad in the MK on the 1st, they wouldn't be bad in the other parks on the 2nd or 3rd or 4th!

Except the 30th and 1st were like, the lowest crowd days of the trip.....................

Ok the other days weren't bad and we still did what we wanted to. But as surprised as we were on the 1st, we were equally surprised that the crowds seemed to pick up the next few days. That started with Epcot on the 2nd!

Morning Greetings from Goofy:

625095

We had lucked in to a boarding group for Remy which was the reason for going to Epcot this day. If I'm being honest I wasn't DYING to ride this, but hey, when in France...................The ride broke down almost as soon as we got in line but we enjoyed conversation with a very nice Canadian couple behind us while we waited. After about 40 minutes the ride was up again- no wait, it's down! Oh ok, it's up.

I will say I liked it; I think it's cute, and yes I did pay for an IAS last week so my good friend and co-worker could ride since she hadn't yet. But it's not something I'll pay for again unless we take the kids, can't get a spot in the VQ and they beg me and let's face it, that probably won't happen. Those little rat racers are adorable though!

We then grabbed one of our favorite qs lunches at Sommerfest in Germany-bratwurst and paprika fries:

625359

And later met up with our friend Renee and Chad and their adorable little guys. Of course we took no pics but we grabbed margaritas at Choza de Margarita and then went and sat inside Akershus with their friends! This is now a relaxation spot of sorts sponsored by Florida Blue Healthcare, you can sit and hang out and they come around and serve you little prepackaged snacks like pretzels, cheese and crackers, and with hopes of @buzzrelly showing up they offer Babybel cheese. They also have sodas and water. We brought in our margaritas and then Renee and I went back to Germany to grab a wine flight which was delish and nice to sit in the a/c.

625360

While Remy was cute and seeing our friends was fabulous, if you really want to know what the highlight of the day was it was in Norway when I saw my boyfriend again!

625361

625362

Geir Ness for the win!

And just to remind you of our first date:

625363

Game over! We can go home now.
Well we didn't go home but we did go back to the WL for a break after checking out the Epcot 50th statues and a poutine snack- what's a TR without a picture of poutine?

625364

Before the trip I wasn't aware that the majority of the statues were in the MK; I thought they'd be ore evenly distributed. Makes sense I guess that most are in MK and then they are pretty much evenly distributed between the other 3 parks. Here are 2 in Epcot:

625366

625367

The other 2 are Pua and Hei Hei and then Coco.

More food porn to come in the next update as we try out a new to us QS in Disney Springs!

Except the 30th and 1st were like, the lowest crowd days of the trip...............
Was not expecting that.
If I'm being honest I wasn't DYING to ride this
Oh? Why not?
The ride broke down almost as soon as we got in line
:sad2:
I will say I liked it
There! See?
Those little rat racers are adorable though!
::yes::

Ooohhh… looks so good!

Wait!
Are you saying Akershus isn’t a restaurant anymore????
the highlight of the day was it was in Norway when I saw my boyfriend again!
Game over! We can go home now.
:lmao:
what's a TR without a picture of poutine?
A poutineless TR. And that’s pointless.
Before the trip I wasn't aware that the majority of the statues were in the MK
I didn’t know that either.

Glad the Canadians were repping us well. lol!

They are so cute! I definitely want to ride it once and will probably check it out in March.
While Remy was cute and seeing our friends was fabulous, if you really want to know what the highlight of the day was it was in Norway when I saw my boyfriend again!
Of course it was! Love that perfume....have you tried the Magic Candle Company Norway scent? It's lovely!

I had no idea that was in there! I would have gone for some cheese! :rotfl2:

It wasn't very crowded when we were there Sept 26-30. I guess people were staying away from the 50th event.

We had lucked in to a boarding group for Remy which was the reason for going to Epcot this day.
We rode Remy twice during the AP preview and then once again when we were there in October. It's a cute ride but the wait time in the VQ isn't much of a benefit, especially when the ride breaks down while you are waiting, like it did in October. We'll try for an early VQ whenever we stay at an Epcot resort, but I don't think I'm in any hurry to ride it if I have to wait 45 minutes in the VQ.

Wow thanks for letting us know about this. I didn’t realize it was still open for relaxing. I thought it was closed since most of the relaxation zones were gone!
The food you had looks so good right now, I am starving lol 😆

Oh? Why not?
Well, I knew what it was like since it's in Paris and it wasn't something that really interested me. Plus reports of it causing motion sickness which I can be prone to didn't help. But I'm glad I rode it and as I admitted, it's cute! It is a nice addition and I think the area is done well.
Wait!
Are you saying Akershus isn’t a restaurant anymore????
Yes!
I AM saying it is not currently a restaurant!
No idea if it'll become one again. It should as they need more dining and not sure why it is what it is now.
A poutineless TR. And that’s pointless.
See, I knew Canadians would get it :worship:
They are so cute! I definitely want to ride it once and will probably check it out in March.
It is a cute ride and a cute area! I hope you get to do it.
..have you tried the Magic Candle Company Norway scent? It's lovely!
Um no, I didn't know they had that one but now I will be purchasing it tomorrow lol so thank you!
I had no idea that was in there! I would have gone for some cheese! :rotfl2:
LOL I thought of you as soon as I saw it!

It wasn't very crowded when we were there Sept 26-30. I guess people were staying away from the 50th event.
Yes I think people thought it would be crowded BEFORE and not AFTER and therefore came after. I'm glad we had a couple days prior to the 1st.
We'll try for an early VQ whenever we stay at an Epcot resort, but I don't think I'm in any hurry to ride it if I have to wait 45 minutes in the VQ.
I agree! I only paid for it because my friend had never ridden but won't do that again. It was nice just walking right in though as opposed to the VQ wait.
Wow thanks for letting us know about this. I didn’t realize it was still open for relaxing. I thought it was closed since most of the relaxation zones were gone!
Well technically you are supposed to be a member of that insurance group or something? But there's a code on their website you can download so we had that, plus Renee's friend has that insurance. They didn't ask us anything but her friend showed her pass or card or whatever so IDK how strict they are!

Well, I knew what it was like since it's in Paris and it wasn't something that really interested me. Plus reports of it causing motion sickness which I can be prone to didn't help.
Okay makes sense. Did you have any issues with motion sickness?
Yes!
I AM saying it is not currently a restaurant!
No idea if it'll become one again. It should as they need more dining and not sure why it is what it is now.
No way! Huh! Such a shame. :(

Well I'm rushing out on the school run but just wanted to say my day will be grand now that I know you met the boyfriend and had the poutine. I mean that's it-life ain't getting any better than that! :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:
Remy looks cute btw

Glad you got to see your boyfriend again on this trip!! Sorry he wasn't able to lotion you up this time though...stupid covid taking away everything from us!!

We're excited to try Ratatouille next month! It's on our list of "we'll pay for it if we have to!"

Ok the other days weren't bad and we still did what we wanted to. But as surprised as we were on the 1st, we were equally surprised that the crowds seemed to pick up the next few days. That started with Epcot on the 2nd!
Wow! That is surprising. I would have expected the opposite as well. Hope this trend doesn't carry over into next week

I will say I liked it; I think it's cute, and yes I did pay for an IAS last week so my good friend and co-worker could ride since she hadn't yet.
I can't wait to ride this. I know its nothing special but Ratatouille is my favorite Disney movie so I'm stoked. Pretty sure we are going to pay for the lightening thingy since we don't have any full days planned at Epcot. Just planning on hoping there.

This is now a relaxation spot of sorts sponsored by Florida Blue Healthcare, you can sit and hang out and they come around and serve you little prepackaged snacks like pretzels, cheese and crackers, and with hopes of @buzzrelly showing up they offer Babybel cheese.
:rotfl2: Think Kelly and I are going to be in Epcot for dinner so will have to stop by for all the babybel her heart can handle. We did see this on our one day in Epcot in September and had no clue what it was. Very random

While Remy was cute and seeing our friends was fabulous, if you really want to know what the highlight of the day was it was in Norway when I saw my boyfriend again!

Saw he was there yesterday. Hope he knows you are coming next week so he can wait for his faire maiden
