Seriously one of the best feelings in Disney world. For me walking into WL even beats the park. Pretty sure I literally let out a gigantic sigh when we arrived last month


Sounds the same to me! I live 20 miles outside of DC in a completely different state yet I've called myself a Washingtonian my whole life


Love the addition of these statues. We're challenging Casey in December to find them all. However many she finds that how much $ she gets to buy something with. Figure that will keep her entertained and let us see the statues at the same time

nd of course Chris got his learner's permit! Unlike Ricky who never wanted to drive my 4Runner Chris has been doing so and I think only needs about 8000 hours of practice before he's ready to take his test And the day before Halloween we went to see Ricky at school.

How in the world is he driving and going to homecoming already????? Our kids growing really just needs to stop

We were NOT in that crowd as we stayed right up by the flagpole. I'll tell you 3 things right off the bat:
1. today was not nearly as crowded as I thought it would be
2. rides were walk ons just about all day
3. yes the majority of the people were on lines for merchandise!

So glad you all had a fantastic day. I'm still shocked at how "low" the crowds were. Also shocked on the merch lines. What is wrong with people?

I got a Bloody Mary which was DELISH

We just got back from Savannah and I put in some serious bloody mary time at brunch before we left. Of course was thinking about my BM sister

I got the Burnt Ends Nachos and I think I ate nonstop for about 15 minutes without coming up for air they were so good:

Oh these are always so good. We've done them a few times and between the cheese and burnt ends I can see why you didn't come up for air.

On the 22nd we had Chris's 16th birthday plus it was his Homecoming weekend so that was fun and busy:

And the day before Halloween we went to see Ricky at school. Technically it was Parents Weekend but we just took him to eat and buy sneakers at his request lol:

Taking care of your kids needs and wants is always first priority.

We were NOT in that crowd as we stayed right up by the flagpole. I'll tell you 3 things right off the bat:

3. yes the majority of the people were on lines for merchandise!

I was surprised to hear the ride lines were so good, but since the lines were for merchandise that does make sense.

We did spend a good amount of time finding the 50th statues and besides the Mickey and Minnie dedicated to CM's, there's this guy too!

I'm looking forward to doing this too.

I am still glad I stuck to EPCOT that morning. Was super nice! I came back to the bungalow and Pat and Marv were telling me about fights and lines and the virtual queues crashing and they were absolutely livid. I'm glad you saw low ride wait times and could get a few in with less mayhem!!

Congrats to Chris! Is Ricky driving too? My three have shown no interest so far but hopefully will take the plunge soon. So nice to go and see your boy! We are going to see Jamie on Saturday and take him out for lunch. He has managed to run through all $700 of spending money he had, mainly because he discovered a vintage record store in Guelph! So we will get him a few things he can't get on the meal plan and a little $$ to last the rest of the semester.

We just kind of.....waited there until park opening at 8am, taking it all in. I was intermittently feeling awe that I was standing there for the 50th and feeling anxious to get going! Finally when the park opened after a regular, lack-luster, nothing special castle stage show we proceeded in and decided to head to Big Thunder. I ran into a co-worker as a bunch of us were there today and ended up riding Splash with her first-and it was her first ever time ON Splash! That was neat. Then it was walk on BTMRR, HM, IASW and then after a work meet up for a castle photo we did Monster's Inc. with Jenny and Joe. There are a few changes post-COVID and it's as cute as ever!

Sounds like an awesome MK morning! I would be staying away from those merch line stoo.

I cannot believe anyone didn't realize it was the 50th after all the promoting they did but if they were clueless they probably enjoyed the rides lol! Just not buying popcorn!

She loved it. She enjoys drops but nobody in her family would ever ride and she didn't want to ride alone. I was glad I got to go with her

airly quiet halloween here but all good. My wee grandson went trick or treating or "round the doors" as we call it and he loved it!

We were too; I was waiting for something big. And all it was was the big merch debacle! Still happy to have been there though.

t was crazy to hear that, that was the case but it also makes sense. The people there were people who had come many many times.

Yes and people I think who resell online. I felt bad for folks who just wanted to buy 1 thing and really bad for the people who wanted a drink or a regular 'ol thing of popcorn and had to wait an hour at a cart!

I didn't hear them booing since we were so far back but I wouldn't be surprised if they did!

he morning one moved fast and we chatted with people around us to kill the time. Everyone was just so excited to be there!

Yes! Jenny and I were on the Starbucks line awhile and saw how fast the tumblers were going but at that point nobody has lost their sh** yet

It was such a thrill to just be there though, wasn't it?!

OMG yes! Happy that years from now I can say we were there!

still can't believe they literally did nothing but a stage show the morning of 10/1! I was so excited to get out of school and take to social media to see all the amazingness I had surely missed during the day.....what a letdown! Awesome for ride times though

Ugh it was definitely a let down; there were people on the train station and Goofy was there and we thought they would do a speech or something but nope Just a regular day in the MK!

We were going to try that in December with my parents, but couldn't get a time that worked on either day we were looking. Man, those nachos have me regretting that now though!!! Maybe I better keep looking

Yes keep trying! I'll tell you Dec. dining has been tough. I'm glad you got what you wanted though and I do think times will open.

It was really good! I thought I'd have it in Dec. and then realized they won't have it but hopefully they have another good seasonal drink!

How is Ricky enjoying his sophomore year of college? Is it mostly back to normal now?

He's having a really good year thank you! Lots of social activities now and he's made a few more really good friends. Next semester he really gets into his major classes so he's looking forward to that.

Yes! Fifty between all 4 parks. I think we found 41 or 42? most are right out in the open but some are a bit hard to find!

I heard Epcot was nice that day. Luckily we didn't try for any merchandise and got what we wanted before that day and after; and yes the shopping VQ;s filled up before park opening and people were PISSED! I had randomly joined the one for Big Top Souvenirs so got in later that day but the stupid thing was they kept the sign up about joining after it was full so people got excited and then let down. Worked well for the rides though!

Hey hey everyone! Coming off the first weekend of Nov. got me in a holiday mood It also has me looking forward not only to our short little December Disney trip but my "work conference" down there starting next week!

I'll be at GDT the 11-16th for a huge vendor show/conference and while these trips are always JAM PACKED and tiring I still am really looking forward to it! First of all, ALL the big vendors we work with will be there - Disney and Uni of course as well as all major cruise lines, the biggest/best all inclusive resorts, our insurance vendors, domestic hotels, special activity vendors we book and more. And if you're confused as to what my job is feel free to find me on FB if we aren't that kind of friend already! Ariane Costa DeVizio. Because if I tell you what I do- well, that's very naughty here

Besides the Epcot dinner I do get a little other park time the 16th and will be in MK an possibly AK with my work wife. We're also doing Toledo dinner one night that our duties end early
