I had read a some less than positive comments about the Trick or Treat party last week, so I was really nervous about going this past Thursday. We loved it! We were in line at 6:15 and they let us through the gate and then past the ropes at 6:30. We walked straight to the back of the park. We stopped on the way to see Peter Pan and Wendy (we were the first there), and then went right to Toy Story Mania. We were on in 5 minutes and then went back again with little wait. We went on Screamin, and then played some boardwalk games and hit the treat stations on the boardwalk. There were not too many people at all, it was very manageable. We then made our way towards the front of the park and there were very long lines for candy by Bug's Land, so we went on Soarin and then made our way over to Tower of Terror. We watched the parade and really enjoyed seeing all of the great costumes. We got tons of candy through Animation Studios (don't miss that!) and then our bags were filled with huge hand fulls by the exit of the park.

Our plan was to hit rides first and move on to another treat station if there was a long line for one. The party was sold out, but we felt that it was not as crowded as we expected. Our kids (4 and 6) had a great time! We left the party close to 9:30 because we were all tired and felt that we got more than our money's worth!! I hope everyone else that goes has just of good of time as we did!

-Those that are looking for chocolate, the Ghirardelli station was by Soarin and the Reese, Snickers, Kit Kats...were in Animation Studios. :)

Thank you so much for the positive post. I have been reading all the bad reports and have been so bummed about our ToT party on Oct. 31st, which will be our first time ever. What type of candy did they pass out??? Can you use the fast pass system during the ToT party? Did you see any other uncommon characters while there? Thanks for the post and any questions you have time to answer.....:thumbsup2

We got lots of Tootsie rolls, Dots, Sweet tarts and hard candy, but I noticed that there were M&Ms and Butterfingers in most of the bins too, you just had to ask and they would reach for them. There were tons of characters out, but the lines were long if you did not go to them first thing. The Evil Queen was by Animation Studios she alternated with Snow White. Green army men switched out with Woody and Jesse by TSM. The villian from Meet the Robinsons and Frollo were by Bug's Land.

Fast pass was not available that I saw, but you did not need it. Get there early and if you start at the back of the park and go to TSM first, you should not have to wait at all. Just have a plan and be flexible. Enjoy yourself!!

Yay! We had a great time too! We went on the 8th. I think when we go next year we will follow your plan of hitting some rides and characters first. We hit the candy first and then the rides. I would of liked to ride more :goodvibes but still felt it was worth the $

also went on thursday 10/15 .. felt the crowds were just fine. Treat lines looked long, but really did move fast. I was not comfortable requesting specific treats, and so ended up with mostly "cheap" candy such as tootsie rolls, smarties, now and laters, taffy, etc. All stations had apples, and some had rasins too. I felt that as a costumed adult, I was being treated as a bother in the treat lines -- adults with children and children alone were receiving handfuls of candy, while the treat givers would look at me, then only drop one piece of candy in my bag -- I'm in costume!!! It's not like I'm just standing there in my street clothes and even if I was -- this is a very expensive ticket, all guests should be treated the same. ::shrugs:: Oh well.

We showed up at party opening time, got right in.. and headed straight for rides. We got on TSM with a five minute wait.. .wait was up to 15 by the time we got off, so we passed on a second try. We walked around a bit, looked at the characters and decorations, then rode Screamin' 3x in a row with a 2-5 minute wait. It was great!! .. We then made our rounds for candy. We left early as I was having knee problems, however being able to be in a park with such a small number of people was great and we had a good time.

Thank you for the great review as well! We're headed there this Thursday and I know we'll have a great time, since we have nothing to compare. But glad to hear your kids had so much fun. You "plan of attack" sounds perfect :)
