Went to my AAA agent; she says you can use your Disney Reward $$ for Disney trip

If you book on-site supposedly AAA can apply your reward dollars on any part of the Disney costs like room and tickets. I never new they could do this for you.

Has anyone actually done this for their trip booking through AAA? I just want to make sure I can rely on her info before I get my rewards card.

When I booked my trip for this May, AAA said I could not apply reward $$ to my trip. THis is way I used a regular travel agent not AAA

I'm sure it all depends on the agent. Since your agent has already told you she can, then she can.

I have used rewards to pay for bookings that I made on my own through Disney.

I have also used Disney VISA rewards for partial payment on last year's Disney cruise. I had booked it through an independent TA, and she had no problem with applying the rewards as payment. She also took our Disney gift card as a partial payment as well.

In the travel biz there are many ways to book a trip. Just like you can book a Disney trip with Travelocity or Expedia an agent has different sources too.

Disney Travel told me AAA is authorized that way, as long as, AAA goes direct through Disney for the trip. I went to try a disneyworld.com trip and was able to talk with a Disney cast member agent via their chat system and she verified this information.

To njflounder: I can't speak for how each AAA locations work, but I can't see how one location would have different rules from another. I would book a room through the AAA website and try that way and see if you can apply the reward dollars that way. There has to be something listed in the payment section for it. You can always print out the info and bring it to your local AAA office. I would even go as far as trying a different AAA office near you. You can at least call them and see if you can do it somewhere's else close by. I know it won't help you for your current trip, but I think it's good info to have handy for future reference.

I went into my local AAA office in Marlboro, NJ and they told me outright that if I want the AAA rate I can't use the Disney Reward Dollars. IF they booked the trip thru Disney, then no discount would of applied but I would be able to use Reward dollars. I ended up using a great travel agent authorized by Walt Disney who made my ADR's for me and is as pleasant as can be.

I went through AAA for my Dec. 07 trip and was allowed to use my Disney Reward Dollars to help pay for it.

My AAA agent was on the phone direct with Disney and booked the trip over the phone with them. My rewards card number (not my credit card) was told over the phone and the Disney rep verified the balance on the card and it was in total agreement with my amount. It was then applied to the deposit of the Disney trip without issue.

This was all done as if it's quite a common practice to do it. My AAA didn't even blink an eye doing it for me, nor did the Disney agent ever hestitate to do it for a moment.

I received my discount without a problem on my Disney package, too. I knew what the amount should be and I didn't have any issue about getting my discount.

Each AAA travel agent office has a supervisor. I sure would escalate this to that level if you are unable to apply Disney reward dollars without conditions. Maybe, that AAA office is not really aware you can do this or does not want to do it; because, it is a little more work for the AAA agent to do it.

I was even told by my AAA I have time until October when final payment is due for my trip to add even more rewards dollars if I have them by then to use.
