Canada serving sizes are ridiculous. 3 dollars for a public grocery store sized snack.
South africa had yummy super yummy spicey chicken.

I went into the moroco table service restrant to get a cup of water They guy *it was a young guy working there* was like what size water do you want. then when my dad went up a few later same person gave him a small LOL.

The portion sizes are not meant to be huge. But at the Canada kiosk, if they do try to pass off a half cup of the soup, I encourage people to ask them to give you a full portion of it. That's the only pet peeve I've had at the festival. Last year I had to ask them to give me the full soup portion.

The gumbo in Louisana was yummy. Also ate at the Greek booth, it is always good. Plan to go back quite a few times. :)

We'll be there this coming Wed. Wahooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I was also there on Saturday. It was a great time!!!!:goodvibes

I'm jealous of all of you who went or get to go soon. I want yummy food too!

I went to the Festival yesterday. This year I started off in South America...I loved the beef empanadas ( decent portion size) and a beef and corn casserole from , I think, Argentina.

Next time I will go Oriental. I plan on having sushi and the chinese potstickers ( you get three - it's a good deal).

don't miss some of the cooking demonstrations and wine tastings....( we were too late to get into the Moet champagne tasting...darn :sad2: ). But we did get to have a delicious cherry/vanilla glazed chicken....yum yum. These are held in Epcot in the building that houses(housed - looks like a refurb is going on) the "body"/"all about me" exhibits.

The entertainer was Sheena Easton. Both of the past years I went she was also playing...how weird. This time she was very hoarse....maybe sick...but still did a nice set...."For Your Eyes Only" "morning Train" where two I recognized

I was at Epcot on Thursday the 25th. Was not prepared to experience food and wine but some of the booth were open. I guess it must have been a soft opening or something. I walked by the "spectacular" (i am joking here) PEARVILLE display in the america section. I swear it looks like a dark ride. we are so lame.............they should take the quote off the mcikey shirts and put it over this area. does this display make me look cheesy. Its funny. I know there are people who will probably like it but no other country does this. we are lame.

I wish I'd read this before friday - I got about a thimble full of soup - I just assumed that was the full portion. I waited in line for 20 minutes and paid my $3.25, I would have liked a bit more soup with my soup! :rotfl:

Some of the best things about the food & wine festival are the cooking demos & wine tastings. Most of these are, now, in the festival welcome center in the Human Body Pavillion (to the left of Mission Mars). You do have to get in line ahead of time as the free ones fill up fast. It is worth it, as you see a world class chef who talks while while he/she cooks & then you get a nice sized sample of what was demonstated. You can share line duty, one person waiting in the spot, while others you're with can wander about.
We waited in line for about 45 minutes for chef Tim Kuck to demo the vanilla cherry chicken. Yum!
I didn't get to the Samuel Adams beer tasting in America, yet. I'm not a beer drinker, but I enjoyed this free experience last year. You get to try an assortment of Sam Adam's beer while they talk about each one. Again, this is a free bee, so plan ahead.
I was only in the park for 3 or so hours, as I had to work last weekend, but I hope to get back in there again this week & weekend. :yay:

I'm really quiet and shy, I don't think I'll be assertive enough to ask for more of that delicious soup. We'll be there next Wednesday (10/8) through the 13th. 5 nights at POR and 1 night at Animal Kingdom Villas (studio). We love eating around the world. Love the quesadillas at Mexico. We're also doing an event at Japan (Saki, Sushi and Sashimi) mmmmm as well as the Party for the Senses. Can't wait!! I love reading the reports from people who have already been there (:
