Yet again, the cast includes:
Karen, 33
Tom, 37
Jacob 6 1/2
After another late night for e-ride, we all slept in & had a late start. Lunch at the Pepper Market and off we head to AK. As soon as we get to the park the oppressive heat really hits us so we head off to Kali to get wet & cool off. The ride seems so short to us since we have been on longer rides at local parks, but we still enjoyed it lots. We exit the ride and hit the FP machines to come back later in the day. Another family hands off some Dinosaur FPs so we head to Dinoland.
DH & DS ride it, not my favorite, and from there we go on Primeval Whirl 2xs--liked it alot, Triceratops Spin and then off to get a spot for the parade. DH says they are offering interpreting for the deaf during the parade & we easily find the spot & meet some great CMs while waiting. DS & I go off to Pizzafari to pick up some meals, we opt for the kid's meal deal thing and are surprised at how much food is included for $5.49 (cheeze pizza, kids drink, bag of chips, a coupon for another drink & coupon for a dessert or popcorn). We will definitely do that again--& the CM at the counter encouraged me to buy the child's meal--she said it would be plenty and she was right.
Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade was really cute, we enjoyed it alot. During the parade some of the performers from FOTLK were standing right next to me & we had a nice conversation. They convinced us to attend the last show of the day at 5:45. After the parade we headed to Kali to use out FP, of course it started to pour as soon as we reached the line & the ride was closed for quite a long time. We waited for about 25 minutes, then decided to see ITTBAB before heading to FOTLK. Both were terrific and we enjoyed seeing the performers we met earlier. DS got to be part of the show with the musical instruments so that was fun too.
On the way out of the park we couldn't find an open popcorn stand, but we did find a cart selling drinks, coffees and desserts & they accepted our coupons from the earlier meal. We got 2 lemonades, a blueberry coffee cake and cheese muffin for free with the coupons-great deal!
The buses were running great and we got back to the resort pretty quickly. We then made the biggest mistake of our trip & decided to check out the Belz outlet mall. The map made it seem pretty close & easy to get to, so off we went. We were fine until we hit International Drive & then we sat in some bumper-to-numper traffic before hitting the correct mall. The outlet itself was pretty good IMO, of course the merchandise would be different all the time, but I got some great deals on clothing (2 piece Minnie winter pjs $11.99, Mickey icon sweatshirt $14.99, Buzz Lightyear bucket hat $5.99, 100 Years of Magic trading cards $5.99). I was surprised that some of the items were things that I saw in World Of Disney in 2001 or even in May when we were at the Poly. The outlet is a great deal, but I wouldn't go back there again as we sat in traffic for over an hour trying to get back to the WDW resort area. I guess Sat night on I-Drive is not a smart idea!!! Now I know better!
After we got back we had a late dinner at the Pepper Market again--DH said the Buffalo Wings were pretty good and I had chicken fajitas--we shared with DS for most of the trip as there is so much food!
Off to bed so we can prepare to head home tomorrow!
