We had Mo's 7th birthday party yesterday (you know, the one with the controversial root beer in the bottle) and it was a blast! It was a beautiful day and the horses were out in the pasture the entire time. Here are a few shots of the day...

Sheriff Elliot kept all those rowdy kids under control!

Mo taking a good whack at the horse pinata (it ended up not breaking and fell off the string so we had to beat a dead horse ha ha ha)

Cleaning up the pinata goodies!

The super melted cake. I don't know what I was thinking getting an ice cream cake for an outside party in the summer. Doh!

Blowing out imaginary candles on a melting cake because mom forgot a lighter and nobody at the party smoked. We tried using a car lighter but couldn't keep the candle lit long enough. ;)

Of course the kids were magnetically attracted to the rock of death the entire party.

The party was so much fun, she hardly had the attention span to open gifts! However...a purple pony stole the show! A pony & a purple pony to boot!

Here is a group shot of all the munchkins! Mo is the one in pink cowgirl boots! You can see the horse barn and pasture behind them there. ;)

The kids all had a blast painting horseshoes, seeing the horses, playing on the playground, and getting hyped up on sugar! Several cried that they didn't want to go home. I suppose that and no broken bones makes for a great party! :)

SSoooo cute!

Is this a place you can rent for parties or do you own it? We live in Indy too!

It is a public park! It is called River Heritage Park and it is on River Rd. just north of 116th Street in Carmel. Alot of people don't even know about the horses when they go to the park as they are tucked away from the play stuff. It is a great park and nobody is ever there! We just booked the shelter with the parks department to cover our rears just in case something was going on but hardly anyone was there the entire time. GREAT place!

Is there an interaction with the horses or are they on private property?

Our pediatrician is at 131st and Hazel Dell, I take HD, so I drive close to this park. I'll have to check it out!

my 8 yr old niece's b-day party was Aug 7th, she had a spirit party....

those pinatas are made to withstand nuclear attack, the kids could not break it, my 24 yr old niece took a few swings, still no luck, we took a pocketknife and sliced it's belly and the kids still had trouble getting the candy out....LOL

glad your daughter and her friends had such a good time...

They are on private property so no petting them but the kids still LOVED seeing them. You can walk right up to the fence and watch them in the pasture.

We ended up getting it open when I took a few good whacks but it wasn't easy that is for sure! At least all the kids got to take turns at hitting it. If it had broken before all the kids had a turn we may have had tears.

Very neat pictures, Bridget. They sure are getting BIG. What a neat looking party.

I recall one year doing a pinata IN the house, for one of the kids, NAtalie or Vince, can't recall, with ME holding it on a rope!! :earseek: Two BIG mistakes, LOL!!!

LOL that visual made me laugh. Hope you didn't get the brunt of the beatings Dan!

I want one of those pink cowgirl outfits.

Mo is adorable, so is Elliott. Great idea for a party, my kids loved Spirit!

Great pics mosmom!!

Looks like the birthday party was a great success! What fun. Mo looks precious in her pink cowgirl boots :)

Mo'sMom - LOL re: rock of death. Kids are either attracted to rocks or water!

MICKEY88 - pinatas made to withstand a nuclear attack - LOL!

Glad the party went well. I am doing my kids birthdays in the next two weeks. I'll be glad when it is all over.

I really appreciate this thread goving me a couple of chuckles today.
