And now I'm full-on hardcore into the planning. We have been to DL a few times already but have finally decided that we are ready for the BIG ONE!!

So many great sales on right now, that's what inspired me to look in the first place. I started developing possible scenarios for early next year, to take advantage of the deals. Unfortunately, in between work, the kids' school schedules and the fact that it's pricy as all heck to fly to Florida from here.. not gonna happen. Boo!

More poking around an more reading...an I think we have settled on 11/26 to 12/3. Coincidentally (HA!) over my birthday next year. So many ideas floating round in my skull now.....

I just needed to SQUEEEEEE!!!!!

We're a DL family and made our first WDW trip this time last year. The planning was a bit stressful after the ease of DL but we all really enjoyed the trip! We did 6 days in the parks split 1 day each at HS and MK and 2 days each at AK and EPCOT. We had originally planned on 2 at HS and only 1 at AK but after we went to both we decided that we needed a second at AK. DS adored the Wilderness Explorer activities and he insisted on doing every single one!

Taken as a whole, we all prefer DL/DCA over WDW but all 3 of us agree that our single favourite park out of the 4 WDW and 2 in CA has to be AK.

You'll be fine, you've made a great start by learning all you can here and I'm sure elsewhere. The search thingie is your friend! There is no way you can be 100% prepared and even those of us who have been there often enough to feel right at home always learn or see a new thing or two each time. As far as all those bits of information and ideas go, try to get them organized somewhere. Some keep a binder for each trip but I'd suggest some computer app that can store all the bits and pieces as you collect them. I used to use Evernote but now use a Mac app called Together. Note taking apps can work too. It's a great help if you can access your info on a tablet and/or your phone as well. It's funny how you always need a confirmation number when you don't have your information with you.

dis_guy, I used Evernote when planning the last three DL trips. Even though my post count is stinkin' low I lurk round here reading everything I can for about a year during planning stages of each trip. The DISboards are my go-to for any and all things Disney. :) Now that Evernote has changed (and I bought a Mac) I will check into the app you mentioned - thanks for the tip on that! I poke my nose into as many threads as I can to see if there's anything useful I can take away. I am an inveterate list-maker, I swear the planning stages are the most fun *EVER*.

Oh aye, Im a geek.....
