Here are some pics and a few small highlites. One thing to note we only stayed at FW for 3 nights we were all tired of camping and moved the family over to OKW in a 2 bedroom.

So some pics.

This is in Jelico where we stopped for lunch on our way to Gatlinburg.

From Skidaway we drove up to Hilton Head to check out Disney HHI DVC resort it was nice and the kids loved standing on the boardwalk and watching the crabs and stingrays swimming around below the lookout post.

This is from Turtle Creek resort/RV park in Homosassa FLA.

And finally here is FW we were on site 1005 which by the way is a pet loop now and we were put there even though it was stated due to allergies and my dislike of dogs for us NOT to be on or close to any pet loops.

Great pictures!!!

I'm beginning to think that FtW is becoming a totally pet friendly park. This is the first I've heard of dogs being allowed on 1000 loop! Were there dogs on more than one site?

I lived near Myakka State Park for about 20+ years. It's beautiful!! Did you see lots of gators? Did the ravaging raccoons steal stuff from you? You couldn't have chosen a better state park on the west coast of Florida!

Thank you for sharing! We live in GA and hope you encountered some hospitable folks! :flower: I love Disney and Florida, but I wouldn't live anywhere else but in the North GA mountains!:thumbsup2

I too dislike vacationing with other people's animals...I can't believe they didn't move you somewhere else, was the campground that full?!? I always ask for a non-pet loop but there always seems to be some jerk that doesn't tell them they have a dog and they seem to always be next to us! I plan on fixing that this trip with a device we found on the internet that will shut them up!:lmao:

I hope you had a good time at Disney!:)

Nice photos:thumbsup2

Thanks our trip started out with a night in Kentucky at the Good Sam park in Crittenden The Cinicnatti South Rose Garden resort it was just a quick stop for the night before heading out on the rest of our trip. Then it was Jellystone for 2 nights and then Skidaway for 2 nights then Turtle Creek in Homossasa for 2 nights. Then Myakka State Park for 2 nights then FW for what was supposed to be 5 nights but we left there on the Wed morning for OKW and extended our stay there to make it 3 nights @ OKW.

Hey, Flame??? Where ya been? We've dreamed of living in the Ellijay, Blairsville, Hiawassee area, and at one time owned property in Cherry Log. Now we will settle for the RV visits to your area. But,,,,it is BEEEE YEW TEE FUL in those mountains!!!

There were dogs on all but 4 sites in the 1000 loop and one of those sites was ours. The 900 loop was almost completley full of pets. Myakka was awesome other than the loud parties we encountered as it happened to be over Fri and Sat nights they played music till well after 1AM. No raccoons took anything but we certainly saw quite a few deer and gators and pigs. We also loved the canopy trail and lookout in the park. We also saw 2 bald eagles flying around. Our downday at Myakka was spent at the beach at Siesta Key playing in the Gulf of Mexico and man was the water ever warm.

900 has been a pet loop for awhile. I wonder if due to the fact 800 is closed, they over-flowed pets into 1000? I'm sorry they didn't accomodate you better.:headache:

Siesta Key beach has been voted the prettiest beach in America for something like the last 10 years. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and Myakka! You must have done your homework! You hit some pretty great places!

The last time we stayed at Myakka (also on a weekend) we had some party-er's that the ranger quieted down at 11pm. I guess the state forestry service has cut back on personnel. Another....:headache:

We tried to research the places we wanted to stay quite a bit before booking them. Myakka is a place we would visit again not to camp but to take a day to explore for sure. We are also going to try the venice area and shark beach or whatever it was they called it so teh kids can search for some shark teeth next trip down. As for 1000 loop it is apparently now going to be a permanent pet loop or so teh CM at the check in/info desk and concierge were telling us.

Venice Beach (jetty) is where all the sharks teeth are. If you camp, Royal Coachman is a very nice park. It's actual location is Nokomis, about 4 miles north of Venice on US Hwy 41.

Auntie (Phyllis), is now using me as her west coast of Florida travel guide. I'll be glad to give you tips, too.:thumbsup2

LOL no we won't be camping it will be our weekend getaway to save on points for our DVC stays we always stay DVC from Sun-Fri then go someplace on the coast for the weekend then back to Disney from Sun-Fri.
