Well, this is a fine mess!

I ordered a drumset from amazon for our Wii. My DS11 and DS10 have been bugging me about when it would come for days. Well, today the box arrived with the packing slip on the outside stating "RockBand drumset". DS11 saw it and I told him he could take it and hook it up. He came downstairs very upset and set some big red thing down and said, "Why did you order THIS???!!" I looked over and saw a box with a big Elmo doll in it! And DS is mad at me because he thinks I ordered it for them!

I am in the process of fixing this with amazon, and trying to convince my son that I am not an evil person.

I had a similar problem with Walmart when DS7 was 2. I had ordered a Winnie the Pooh table and chair set along with a toy box to match for Christmas. I get this big box delivered and didn't think anything of it figuring it was the toy box (a red flag should have gone up due to the size, but didn't). Thankfully I opened it up prior to it being too close to Christmas only to find out that Walmart sent a crib mattress instead That was over a $100 difference and was a pain to correct with Walmart since we went directly to a local store.

It'll be a simple fix; things like that happen all the time. They should send you out a new one right away, and make it possible to send the Elmo back at no cost to you.

Maybe you could give your DS a couple of sticks and let him beat on Elmo until the real drums arrive? There are days when I'd like to beat Elmo with a couple of sticks.
