Well, this is a fine how-do-you-do (PhotoPass+ related)

As I've posted before, our PhotoPass+ account for our 4-1/2 days in August started with 420 photos and grew, as I augmented, to more than 1400. I ordered our Photo CDs (which wound up being NINE) a few days before our pictures expired, but, while the CDs were on their way, they all did.

Disc 8 arrived partly delaminated. It cannot be accessed. My pictures have expired. I can't call PhotoPass customer assistance until morning. We had some great pictures that would have been on it, including our friends' DD5's first ride on Space Mountain.

What is the likelihood that Disney still has those pictures somewhere? Or, when they expire, do they EXPIRE? I'm pretty upset about this loss.

I "think" they will still have them. Reason I say this is last year, or might have been the year before. Somehow our photo pass photos got erased and were just gone from our account. I freaked big time, of course. They were closed, so I sent them an email and the next morning when I woke up all my pictures were back, including the photos from the year before. And I think even some from the year before that. So given that, unless things have changed, I think you will be okay. Crossing my fingers for you. I know it is stressful.

Now though I am worried. I never changed any of our photo pass cd's for the past 6 years. I just haven't had time too. Guess that wasn't a wise thing to do on my part. :(

I hope they have them for you. Pictures from a trip to DLR are so much fun to have.
How long from the time you get the pic taken is it to when they expire?

Good luck

  • DLR PhotoPass pictures expire 30 days after you claim them. Mine all expired before I received my discs. I just hope Disney has them somewhere - I can't believe they don't have a backup if this happens. I've taken a picture of the disc which clearly shows the delamination.

They will find them and fix it. I have had that very thing happen. I ordered the CD on the last day, and when they arrived I had more than one of the discs that did not work. Even though the pictures were expired and gone, they were able to reload them and get us working discs. They actually replaced ALL of our discs even though some of them worked-- they said it was easier for them.

Okay - I called, and the person I spoke with found my pictures and is re-sending the CD, express. I hope to get it Friday or Saturday. I don't know whether they're re-sending all of the CDs (based on the e-mail I just got, I'm guessing they are, as indicated above) or just the damaged one, but it doesn't matter - I'll get my pictures. Also, they're going to send me a link so that I can actually download them, which is terrific.

You should be ok. Last year, I ordered the archive CDs for my Memory Maker. It took 3 tries to get all the CDs. The first 2 orders came with partial pictures. Although the photos are not in your account, but your order is still in PhotoPass archive.
