Was playing around on the Disney site with numbers and decided to see what our stay would be if we went with the S/P/D deal over March break. Put in the info and was quite excited to see that we could stay at a moderate resort and have the DDP in March with the discount. For the same price I had been seeing for a value resort and DDP, rack rate in August. :cool1:

Ran to hubby and asked if he thought he could try for his holidays over the break. We could bump the trip up a few months and get a better hotel. Plus a super surprise for the kids since they are expecting to go in summer.

Than I sat down and put in flights :scared: Brief moment of excitement over. The August flights we're seeing are around $250each....March dates $450, meaning we'd be paying more for the trip in the end.

Back to August planning we go, here's just hoping a decent discount pops up between now and my trip.

Oh thats to bad. We are also planning for end of Aug and I am hoping for free dining.

We will be going a day early and coming back a day late because the flights are cheaper then. I bought my tickets about a month ago. We got $280 RT from Detroit to Orlando which I can live with.

I should add that the kids have a PD day the Friday before March break so we leave on Thursday March 6

Is it possible to book the trip and wait and see if the prices of flights go down? I'm a TA and I see flight prices change dramatically in the blink of an eye all the time.

I've debated that, but my husband has to be approved for his holiday time and if we book that week off, than the price doesn't drop we simply can't get another week to go.

We're having the same dilemma trying to factor in whether to go the first or the last week of August. Going the first week is cheaper as I have a 2year old, but busier. The last week will be $1000 more since my youngest will be 3, but less crowds and a possibility of better discount.
