Well I just got BTMR, PP, and 7DMT FP+ for New Years Day.

All in a row, so we can start at 6:20 and use the 3rd one at 8:25 pm. But will it be so crowded that it's not even worth it? Hard to say "not worth it" when we haven't been able to get Mine Train fast passes for over a year now. Anyhoo, who has been to MK on New Years and is it hell on earth or is it enjoyable?

I got 7DMT and FEA for the 29th and 30th of December and was shocked. We have been in February and March the past two years and didn't get 7DMT either time. Makes me wonder how long the fastpass wait line will be.

We've been to DW over Christmas week the past two years and the fp waits have been no different from our late August early September trips. Have fun! I'll be there too!

What is the best way to deal with crowds? Should I be making evening or morning fast pass reservations?

Some days we do evenings, some days we do morning. If we do rope drop we'll stay til about 1pm and start our fp's around 11:00am. Now that the kids are getting older, we are sleeping in more and we are doing more early evening fp's and staying later. We just try to avoid the hours from 1-5 pm during this time period.

New Year's Day is nowhere as bad as New Year's Eve

It's been a long time (2003/2004) but the difference between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day was incredible. New Year's Eve was miserable crowded. Park was at capacity - we heard that they were turning people away at the gate (and a CM told us not to leave because we would likely not be let back in...this was around 11 am and we were staying on-property). New Year's Day was LOVELY. Crowds didn't start to build up until after lunch, and even then they weren't nearly as bad as the day before. It seemed like everyone took the day to just hang out at the pool.
