Well, I had thought Cariocas would be my least favorite...

Carioca's gets a lot of bad reviews on these boards, but our family loves it. It's one of our favorites, for sure. If I really think about it, though, our last two cruises were on the Magic and all of the food was definitely a step up from previous cruises on the Wonder or Fantasy - with the exception of the still inexplicably bad desserts. What I can't say is whether Disney has just stepped up their game a bit food wise in the last couple of years, or we just prefer the food on the Magic. Or maybe we just got lucky! :P

Enjoy!

Thanks! Not surprisingly Lumiere's looks like it will be my least favorite. The Royals on Dream Class are my least favorite/have the fewest things I will eat (and now that I'm gluten free it's even more limited - ick) and Lumiere's looks very similar to those.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at your options being GF. I have been for many years I never feel limited. The only exception is the dinner rolls, they suck, and get worse as the week goes on. Be sure to ask for a chef to take you around at the buffets, it is surprising how much of what they make is GF. Depending on how sensitive you are, they will get you something from the kitchen if you are worried about cross contamination.

Oh yeah - I know that. I just meant the menu at Lumiere's has the least options of stuff I eat (I don't eat fish - so that eliminates a lot of the menu there...and I'm not a huge fan of duck). Hopefully we're not there on night one so *maybe* I could ask for other things easier. I know night one you're usually more limited to the menu as-is.

Actually I always eat the buffet in the MDR location on the first day, and you can talk to one of the head servers then and they can get that nights meal preordered for you:) The only item that I have asked for and not gotten so far is beef wellington, I always ask hoping for a chef to take up the challenge. I am sure there are other items they can't do, but they weren't on my list to try.

Lumieres shares a galley with Cariocas, so its pretty easy for them to get you stuff off the Carioca's menu if you prefer. I ate in Carioca's once and our server bought us a selection of deserts for the table and half of them were from Lumieres. It can just get a bit more complicated if you want to get Animators involved...
