Year after year, I've always enjoyed Halloween and trick or treating with my kids. Always that let-down when it's 9:00 p.m. and it's over for another 365 days.

I had a great time going door to door with my kids, watching them run to house to house with excitement. Looking at all the great costumes, the howls, the screams in the night air.

Until next year.............

Yeah, its a bit sad... I've been sewing costumes like a crazy lady for the past two weeks, hunting through dollar stores for all the right accessories, decorating our lawn, helping out at the kids school parties... and now, poof! done.

Oh well, by next year the kids will want to dress up as something completely different, and I'll have to start the whole thing over again (yay, I love Halloween!)

I hate the day after Halloween. All the fun television shows and movies are over.:sad1:

I have Halloween let-down as well - it's such a big deal in our town and there is a lot of build-up to Halloween, the parades, TOT....I am also sad that it's now 365 days away.

I will look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas though.....

Yep, time to start thinking about putting up the Christmas trees! ;) Seriously, Thanksgiving is a week later this year and I work until Dec. 23, so I will have to do some things early if I want to have time to do them at all.

But now it's time for Christmas!!! :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

I officially go into slump-mode after Christmas.... the dreariness of January, February, and March.... :sad2: :sad1: :guilty:

When I was a kid, November 1 was the saddest day of the year. I remember many walks to the school bus on the morning of November 1, seeing withered and occasionally smashed pumpkins, candy wrappers, and decoations that did not look nearly so spooky in the morning light. Passing the remanants of the prior evening's festivities and knowing that Halloween was a full year away was always downright depressing. It's the only time I would ever mourn the passing of a holiday.

I'm also a little bit sad.

I missed one of our favorite neighbors (she was trick or treating at her cousin's house last night). I'll catch up with her today.

In addition to candy, we also gave out little packs of play-doh. Even the big kdis wanted that in addition to the candy.:cool1:

Only had 4 trick or treaters and their parents instructed them to only take one piece of candy each.

Youngest DD had a blast with her friends and came home with tons of more candy. Oldest DD left early this morning to go back home to Oklahoma so yeah I agree all of it is a bit of a let down. Too much tempting candy staring at me begging me to eat it. Down to one daughter again to do things with. Oh well....
