The Great Baboo.... Thank you sooo much for keeping us up to date! Please stay safe! Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you thoughout the day!
Stay safe, you guys!!! From the live coverage, you're about to get knocked around even more. WFTV says that Frances is right on top of you, as I type this.
Take care, everybody down there!! Our thoughts are with you all.
Hold on....weather guy on wftv says you're about to get 60-70 mph wind gusts...
Osceola, Polk counties also getting high winds.
Volusia cty looks pretty tossed around right now, too.
The Darling Family's thoughts are with the Baboo Family today. Thank you for keeping us posted. We were at BCV during Charley, but Frances sounds much worse. Still, we were amazed at how quickly after the storm Disney had everything open and functioning again. Hope that by tomorrow the sun is shining for you and you can enjoy the rest of your vacation.
Winds have whipped up pretty good, and a lot of swirling, slashing rain.
Lobby area still off limits, so guests are requested to stay in their rooms.
You can go to the gift shop area, of course. My wife already has purchased two watches and two new long-sleeve shirts. If this hurricane lasts much longer, we'll go broke! Next in her sights is a pricey Mickey pocketbook on the next trip downstairs........
On that note----the kids were kicking my butt in Disney Monopoly. My own 4 year old son refused to sell me the Disneyland Paris Resort Train! "No deal," he said. The nerve!
We're still holding our own, guys. Thanks for the good wishes!
The breakfast "meal bags" were $3.00. Lunch was $5.00.
The breakfast ones had a muffin, fruit & juice/milk. Coffee was free.
The lunches were ham & cheese, turkey or PB&J, chips, fruit & beverage. Pretty good for five bucks. But for all the money we're saving on food, it's going right to the gift shop. They will do the same for dinner-----the kitchens cannot operate in high wind because the exhaust system won't work properly.
I guess the lobby area is closed as a safety precaution and to make sure people aren't wandering around where they could get outside.
Sounds like you and your loved ones are taking this all in stride and Disney is taking very good care of you and others in the same situation. From what I've read WDW is not such a bad place to ride out the storm. Have you lost electricity at all?
Stay safe. Keep the reports coming as you are able.
No loss of electricity at all----just an occasional flicker of lights.
I've seen a few shingles ripped off the roof of the Yacht Club, but from what we can see the properties withstand the wind & heavy, heavy rain quite well.
I think we are overdue for another trip downstairs, so I better hide the wallet.
(P.S. - When my son wasn't looking, I stole the Paris Disneyland Train from him. Let's see if he notices when we begin playing again later. >>>heh, heh, heh<<< )
