What about meeting at Denny's at 5am instead of 4? Then we can head to the pier to be there by 6:30. I hate to risk missing her come in, but I also don't want to stand there for 2 hours. =/

Quick note for anyone also heading down soon - don't underestimate the havoc that the construction at 45 and Dixie Farm Rd is wreaking... Was just in the area and the freeway is crawling already. Will only get worse with rush hour. Take Old Galveston or 518 to 45 in League City to avoid it.

Ukintheus had the best reasoning in another thread, and said that the Magic will most likely come in closer to 7am than 5 for media photo ops if nothing else. That seems to jive with what all the authorities are saying, so let's met at Denny's at 5 instead of 4, and we can head to the pier to be there around 6:30 (or earlier, if we change our minds on the fly.)

I'll be up by 4 anyway, and if maybe she suddenly shows up on the tracker as about to head into the channel, I will update here ASAP and text those whose numbers I have.

Channel 13 live Galveston Web Cam should be trained on the arrival of the magic and they will probably have Skyeye 13 down in Galveston.

Of course, Channel 13 is a Disney owned station.

At 02:30 she was still steaming at 10 knots. At 03:30 she is stationary off the coast. I think it will be closer to 7 also. It's 03:40 and we're on the way. Should be in Galveston in 1/2 an hour. We're gonna drive to the end of the sea wall to see if we can see her out there. We'll see y'all @ Denny's @ 5!

I have posted a few times on a couple of forums as we are sailing on the Magic in October to visit our daughter who works on there. Someone today did the kindest thing and I don't know who it was but Thank you! This is the post I have put on in a couple of threads I have used........


Just watched The Magic arrive and dock on the webcam. We are watching from the uk as our daughter Becky is onboard. She emailed me to say - I’m holding a big flag and am right next to the characters and also next to the mickey with cowboy hat! Next thing I get another email excitedly telling me that she got called to her bosses office, the Hotel Director, and told to look through his binoculars at a big green sign saying "hello Becky from the UK from mum" or something similar. She was absolutely delighted and I shed a tear. I don't know who arranged it but Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are so very kind and thoughtful. That has really meant a lot to us all xx Linda x

We are going back for the sail away party this afternoon. It was so cool to see her come in this morning.

It was SO great to meet everyone this morning!! Can't wait to see everyone again later. I'm so sorry for all the confusion about where to be... I had no idea they would have that whole area completely blocked off. :-( I haven't figured out where the best place will be this afternoon... I just know I don't want to be in the middle of all the craziness that will be right at pier 26. What do y'all think?

We met Dena & her DH and also Michael & John ad Sweetpea and her family.

We agreed to meet back at the cruise terminal pier for sail away (I think sweetpea is going to Seawolf). If that changes just let me know.

We won't make lunch, we are going to take a nap! LOL
