good New Year's Eve to all!!
I started a post the other night and it was wonderful and then my browser unexpectedly quit (I guess if I had expected it to...i would have saved it!!) and I lost the whole dang thing. So if I try and redo it, it would all be 4 pages old! ugh!!
I've come to the conclusion I was not born under an ordinary sign...I was born under the sign of Murphy!! Everythiing I do has to turn into a giant production!!
So I'm sitting in the chair thursday night, after having taken some migraine medicine (knew the migraine was coming to visit as it sent its aura ahead to let me know he was coming
) and having not eaten much for 3 days I was ripe for the drugs to take over my mind.
As I sat there staring at the tv I was lamenting to my mother about how Monday, would be the very first Rose Parad I've missed in probably 15 years. I thought (for the very first time in my memory) of how it would be nice to have a TIVO.
I can't beleive I said it out loud...i don't even use my vcr ...Okay the fact that I can get it to play but not record has notthing to do with it. So mom says, "Hey call Cox and see what they charge!" "oh okay" I readily complied.
I speak to the helpful sales person and explain...I want the DVR, I want it installed tommorrow (friday) or early Saturday, I want the digital cable box moved to the upstairs tv (you all move it and set it up), and working so I can record the Rose Parade on Monday. She tells me no problem. A worker man will be there between 8am and 10am on Friday and it will all be done.
9:40 am, little worker man in his Perry Ellis sweatshrit and his one winter glove show up at my door. No, he does not move Digital cable boxes, it is not on his work order, did I see that it was not on his work order?? GRRR..do you see a woman becoming seriously annoyed with you??
He gets it set up (all the while I'm thinking....dude...you ain't got a clue what you are doing!!) Before he leaves he reluctantly sets up the digital box. Good boy!! He also tells me that if the DVR box stops working in the first little while that I should turn it off, leave it off, and then turn it back on and it will work fine. Okay, so you are telling me that this new box may not work

No sooner did the moron leave when I went back to the tv and the dang thing was off. I spent the next hour trying to get it to work. I was on the phone with tech support. The woman told me that she could send someone out to me on Saturday between 4 and 6. I told her if they weren't here by 530 I was leaving their box on my front door step and they could take the stupid thing back with them. She asked that I return the box to a store and to cancel my appt. so I wouldn't be charged $50 for a no show fee!
So I tried to get it working myself this morning. I got it all connected again, I called the number to get it loaded, and the stoopid pre recorded voice told me that it couldn't help me and that I had to speak to someone.
Thankfully, this person has paged the tech and asked them to be here by 5pm and that if they get a cancellation to please come by earlier!! Now why couldn't the lady yesterday do the same thing??? ugh!!
So now I wait...and wait...and wait...Did I mention that I was born under the sign of Murphy???
Good luck getting everything down. I have one more week for ours to stay up

Not a problem! 
I can sooooo relate! However, I have almost conquered the Mt. and the peak has been demolished 
and see what kind of progress I can make in the d/r l/r today. Hope everyone has a great New Years Day!
