Karen, sorry about your problems. Ouch for sure. Thanks for the encouragement. It helped more than you know. I feel much better about things after reading what you had to say.

Elaine, hope your sinus thing clears. Have you tried the shower capsule that is supposed to help give sinus relief? Can't remember the brand, but they are supposed to also have a plug in too. Wondering if it works.

Pizza, I love pizza....oh and cookies Mmmmmm! :teeth:

Thanks for the support you will be offering as I "sail" (yeah right) through the marathon.

Just got back from the wake. Whew. Took about 45 minutes in line to get to the casket. Very sad. Hug your loved ones. I'm going to hug mine.
:wave2:

Hey All,

Just got a call from our MA at work. Shes PREGGERS!! She has been trying to get pregnant and was talking to me today about how she was feeling. I told her she better get tested seeing as she is on medications for BP and Thyroid. She went home and did two pregnancy tests and both were positive. I am SO happy for her. I did just do the math though and she will be due and my other coworker will be getting married and going on her honeymoon in the same month! LOL. Wonder if I can get combat pay for holding down the office by myself ROFL!

Lily I am so glad that what I had to say helped you. Ive had a lot of experience with those meds and if there is anything I can help with please do not hesitate to PM me or give me a yell on IM. The one thing is you may get tired depending on what meds he gives you but usually that goes away. Clonodine is the only one I know of though that it doesnt go away. Thats what we use for the kids for sleep.

Elaine tomorrow WILL be a better day. Im keeping good thoughts about it. Today was just one of those days where everything seems to go wrong. Lifes like that though some days are good ones and some are nasty ones LOL! Hope your sinuses get better soon.

Oh I found out something from the kids last night that I have to talk to their neurologist about. Seems both my kids have inherited my Restless Legs Syndrome. I started getting it as a kid and it seems my two are getting it too. The neurologist asked me about it at several visits they have had but neither boy spoke up before last night. My youngest started talking to me about the itching feeling in his feet and legs that he gets where he has to move them to make them feel better and my eldest chimmed in with the fact that he gets it also. This puts a whole new spin on nighttime for them and why they have such problems getting to sleep and also why they may be more antsy at night. I know it makes me cranky when it happens to me so its safe to say that might be what makes them crankier at night.

Back is feeling better after meds and Im hoping between taking the meds tonight, the brace, and resting it will feel a lot better by morning. Gonna go try and get some sleepies. Gotta get up early because I have to take dh to work so I can have his SUV since my car is at the dealership.

Hope everyone has an AWESOME evening.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Lily I meant to give you a big :grouphug: Im sorry you have to go through something so sad. I have hugged my loved ones tonight extra hard especially dh. I cant imagine what I would do without that man and I hope I never have to find out.

...Thanks for the good wishes and thoughts for my doc visit yesterday. Good news is no surgery. Bad news is most likely not something that can be fixed either. Looks like I have what is termed "nutcracker" esophagus and currently not much to do about it. I am trying some change in the Nexium dose, then will go with other med (maybe). It kind of scares me that doc wants to subscribe calcium channel blockers if needed. This is often given to regulate high blood pressure and can be a danger in someone, like me, who does not need to take meds for blood pressure. If I go this route I will have to go in often for bp monitoring. :( Oh well, we'll see. I'm not going to let this get me down just yet. I'm almost ready to be packing for the DW Marathon Trip! Thinking happy thoughts and becoming hyper over the upcoming event.

.... :grouphug: and prayers to you, sweetie. What is a "nutcracker" esophagus?? (and, REALLY, I'm not trying to be funny, or anything.... )

LOL Kimmar Im actually originally from Buffalo though I have been in Florida for 33 years. I have a sister that lived in Boston and I visited her a lot does that count? hehehehehehehehehe.

Just had some wonderful quiet time with dh. The kidlets are asleep and dh and I just sat on the daybed and cuddled. We havent done that in so long. Thank you Lily for reminding me how important it is to connect like that with my dh.

Evening, all.

Back home from work before 11:30. Yay me! :cool1:

Lainey, I started falling apart LONG before 30. Arthritis at 13 and I found out last year that the asthma was diagnosed when I was 7. Migraines around 14 or 15. You'll be fine, lol! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?

Lily, :grouphug: . That must have been tough tonight. Any homeopathic things you can do to alleviate the symptoms?

JRKaren, yay on b'day at the world!

Nancy, I vaguely remember Kolchak. My mom and dad turned me into a detective/mystery/cop show nut. I'm patiently waiting for Quincy on DVD. Jack Klugman IS my dad's twin, lol.

Paula, :grouphug: I think we all have been there. I took a siesta for a while when life was just too ugly. Hang in there.

Karen, why did you have a day like I normally have?

Daycare called and asked if I could bring the boys an hour earlier so that she could bring all the kids to Laser Tag. I took advantage of it-went to 4 places for iPod accessories (struck out) and got in 45 minutes of walking :cool1: I got to a pace where it probably would have been difficult to keep up a conversation, so I think I may map out a 3 mile route. At least I can tell the doc I did go walking.

Liz, Sweetest Illusion is awesome for walking at a good clip, btw! Although I doubt you wanna do much outside walking these days.

So, what would you do? SIL has been flaking out since Nancy passed away. She had been very together, now she can't even manage her insulin pump. I kinda made it clear that Ed and I can't drop everything and rescue her and that she needs to figure out what help she needs and get it. I think I was nicer than I should have been. I'm thinking I may not tell her what days off I have anymore-would you? I can't figure out if it's an attention thing.

Suzanne

Good morning everyone!

Lily, glad that your appointment went OK and you don't have to have surgery. Hopefully the doctor can do something to help you.

Karen, wow, what a day. I hate days like that. Ugh.

Have a great day everyone.

JellyrollsKaren

Good Morning! Yep, woke up at 4 a.m. on my day off :confused3 Oh well, just thankful to have a nice long 4 day weekend. :goodvibes Maybe I can get some cleaning done :rotfl:
JRKaren: Yeah for a b'day trip to WDW.
Lily: Hope the meds work. Good luck on your Marathon.
Tara: Feel better soon. You aren't suppose to be sick on your Winter break!
Karen: Glad your back is doing better and you enjoyed some quiet time.
OK Nancy, as long as you know the "basement rules" I won't worry about you. LOL! Bet your stew was yummy.
Suzanne: I think I would try the "not telling your days off" thing for a bit and see if you get some relief. Quincy, use to love that show!
Alan: Did ya eat lots of pizza? I agree with TC, don't know how they stay in business. I'm usually a pizza snob but, theirs isn't bad for the price.
Elaine: hope your sinus ickies get better soon. And yeah for an "after Birthday" WDW trip. Maybe I'll get down that way to ketch up w/ya'. Silly me let my AP expire. I shoulda renewed when I was there and then time just got away from me. :guilty:
:wave2: Pam: how's the weather in your neck of the woods? Loved your family pic. Where was it taken?
:wave2: Bethie, how ya doing?
Guess I'll go look around and see where to start straightening up this mess. Might need a nap for more energy :teeth:
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
 puckerup: :rose:

Morning all! Luis was going into work late today so we both slept in some :)

Lily  And no, hadn't tried that shower capsule thing. I think I know what you are talking about... might have to try it later on.

Though it is getting better... I think I'm at the end of the run with it :)

Congrats to your co-worker Karen!!!!!

Suzanne, you've given me some hope then! If you are still going along okay, then I think I'll be okay once I get older. I swear I have days where I feel slower than my dad.
As for your SIL... I don't know what to say. It could be that she is kind of in a "fog" and just not totally with it. Or it could be that she's seeking attention. I would stop letting her know when your days off are though. Obviously if she needs you, she can call... but I wouldn't just outright tell her that. Though I would make time for just her and y'all every now and then.

Morning Karen & Kimmar :wave2:

Rose Mary, I think you should come too! We didn't get much time together this time, did we? My AP expired too, though that was intentional... I want to go back the 1st full week of Dec and that means I'd need a new one anyway. So I'll be getting new in Feb :)

Good morning all....

Chris had a good birthday yesterday. Alyssa and Ryan brought him to "Glow in the Dark" mini golf. I went out and bought way too much Chinese food (leftovers - not a bad thing) and birthday eclairs - he doesn't like cake.
Alyssa gave him an X-Box game - something involving cars and violence I'm sure - he liked the AE clothes that I gave him. All good.

Yesterday I finished my painting project - I did Folk Art cats - 5 Christmas Ornamemts for Ryan's parents - they are coming tomorrow night.

Today - grocery shopping - Chris counselling tonite.

Hugs and prayers to those with health issues.
More hugs to those with kid issues...
Woohoo to those with upcoming trips.
Safe wishes to those having nasty weather.

Love and hugs all around,

Y'all should be stuffed because I ate enough pizza for everyone.

We normally do take out from Papa John's, but if we go out to eat, we go to Cici's or to Stevie B's (another buffet)

Lela and Rebecca can get spinich alfredo at Cici's which is their favorite.

I like the chicken, barbecue, and any of the pepperoni/sausage, etc. We like the variety. The cinnamon rolls are very, very good too :)

Suzanne, we have seasons 1 and 2 of Quincy. He is Mrs. AA's favorite detective ;) The folks from "Crossing Jordan" (which I do NOT like this season) have nothing on him.

Good morning.

Love Quincy!! I agree about Crossing Jordan...too bad. DH has stopped watching it altogether.

Pizza...yum. Stew was great. Plenty of leftovers too.

Lily....hope the meds work out for you. Good luck in the marathon. When do you leave?
Do you do it every year?

Suzanne....I would keep the days off to myself....unless specifically asked.

Basement is as done as it can get until the Christmas things come down and all the "regular" things come back up.

Rose Mary....don't work your whole day off.

Tara...hope you feel better.

Karen...you too. Sorry about your back.

Morning all! Slept in and getting a slow start today--working the late shift at the store tonight, closing up after the crop ends at midnight. Got some errands to run and plenty of packing to do! The movers are coming Monday to take the big stuff for us, so we don't have much time to get all the stuff packed up that's in the bookcases, on top of the dressers, entertainment center, and end tables. Gotta get more boxes!!!

Lots of prayers and a big  for ya, Paula, for your "trying times". Been there, done that, and came out alive! Glad you checked in and let us know.

Feeling very frustrated over this knee thing--wish it would just heal up and be done with it!! Basically, no change since I went to the doc last week and got that shot--and he said I would feel like I could run a marathon. Fat chance!! It's really getting to me and I'm becoming exactly what I don't want to be--a whiney old lady. Feeling very grumpy and not at all loveable, can you tell?!

Well, if I don't get going, nothing will get done, so I'd best head on out. Ya'll have a lovely day and I'll try and check in later. :grouphug:

Suzanne - for iPod accessories try:

www.macmall.com
or
www.applestore.com

:wizard: to those with aches and pains! DH is coming down with something - got aches and chills, didn't help that he fell in the creek yesterday. :guilty: Of course he and DS are out hunting today.

I am trying to conquer Mt. Laundry (remember Marilyn doing that??!! :) ) and Dirty Dishes Peak. And paying all of those lovely company bills. I had to part with my $$$!

I need to get another bin and tackle taking down the tree as the needles are coming off faster than my extra pounds I packed on over Christmas!

Glad Chris had a good birthday! I like cinnamon rolls over birthday cake - so the two of us would probably get along great! :teeth:

Nancy - we've been having family movie nights here, too! Unfortunately I don't pay attention to movie ratings and bought my son the 40 Year Old Virgin and Deuce Bigelow, European Gigolo! :faint: NOT movies to watch with your kids!! :rotfl: I had an asthma attack from mortification and shock!! :rotfl2:

I'm going to take off a half day today, so y'all have a great and safe NYE and I'll see you in 2006!

...hope I didn't eat anchovie pizza, cuz'.....EWWWWW!!!! :sad2:
(Actually, I heated up some leftover "Outback" dinner from last night....YUMMY!)

Slow moving on the DIS for me today... so while I am finishing my lunch, I thought I'd say hi :)

Paula, I am so glad it was a good day for Christopher yesterday. If you need help with the left overs, let me know... I love Chinese :teeth:

Well thanks Alan! I love a good pizza, glad you could have some for me ;) And safe travels to you and the family :wave2:

Nancy, after I go to Paula's I'll be over to help with the stew :p

Bethie  I am sorry the knee isn't cooperating :( I hope that they can help you out with it soon!

:rotfl: Pam... I would've had a hard time watching those with my family as well!!! I do hope your DH feels better soon! GOod luck tackling the laundry... I remember those all too well from Marilyn!

I'm back to trying to deep clean the house. There is a ton of clutter I am trying to get rid of.

..... :rotfl2: !!!

Hope that knee gets better soon, Beth.

Pam....my needles aren't coming off....but neither are the pounds. And I need some off before the trip ::yes::

Stew and pizza....sounds good to me, Elaine. Cookies and candy too. Still a ton of that left here....and pean pie (cheesecake went into the freezer).
Taking the decorations down today.....tree tomorrow....what a mess. I have way too many decorations
Dave didn't want to help :p so he left to go to some wood store
