I may be taking a quick weekend trip to Disney World for my birthday next month. The last weekend in January, which coincides with the DVC sneak preview of Expedition Everest!

Good Morning! It's been a couple of rainy days here! Supposed to be in the high 40s through Monday - which is putting a damper (pun intended) on my guys' muzzleloading hunting.

Heading out in a few minutes to get my CD player installed in my car - and DS's remote starter/keyless entry/car alarm on his Mustang.

Been working/reading during the day and watching movies as a family at night!

Pam, I saw Paula briefly sign onto Yahoo... unfortunately I was leaving as I saw her come on so I didn't get to IM her. I did leave a message on IM for her, letting her know we're worried though.

Yucky weather here too... keeping us from doing stuff outside we wanted to as well... I just hope it does stop on Friday so we can go see the lights at the zoo.

Of course Alan... we all know how cute Luis is

Hi everyone.....

Quickly looked at todays posts and saw Pam's and Elaines words of concern.

I've been thru a couple of very difficult weeks. Not something I an ready to share except for saything that they are Chris issues - and very serious. So....because I didn't want to share but also felt like a hyprcrite for sending happy posts when my heart is breaking I chose not to post at all....

Your warm thoughts have already warmed my herat - I should have known that I could have said - "some bad things going on - can't talk about it" and that you all would have responded with love and support.

Enough said about that - I will try to catch up on posts today....

Quick update on my end....
Christimas was wonderful.
Alyssa came with me to midnight mass.
My husband gave me a black hills gold necklace with a butterfly and Carrie Underwood CD
Kids loved their gifts.
Alyssa got an O.C. calendar from her boyfriend - he told her to look inside - stapled to January (their "anniversary month") were tickets to see "Wicked" on Broadway!!!!! She was so excited.

Today is Christopher's birthday!!!!! Chinese food for dinner!!!!!

Been a rough week for me, always is this time of year.
Anyhoo, had a really nice Christmas w/my family. My niece got the cutest little cocker spaniel puppy that she really isn't sure about yet, LOL. I think it really surprised her.
Lily hope your test results came back postive.
Suzanne, sorry to hear about your friends loss.
Liz- I'm sure once you get into the swing of things you will get that diabetes under control. When going thru the nutritionist w/the not yet ex re: his diabetes I thought the diet was much like following WW. Good luck!
Paula- for what you are going thru. Just know we are here for you. I' the same way, tend to clam up and stay away when things have me down.

We are enjoying DVDs in the evening....going through Kolchak: NIght Stalker now Those were pretty good for their day

We loved those! We have several episodes on VHS that we taped from a Sci-Fi channel marathon back in the days when we had cable.

I was so excited to see it being remade earlier this year into an updated series. Too bad that it was absolutely horrible

Alan...we watched Ripper and Zombie last night. They are so fun.
I never watched the new series, but knew it was bad. It didn't last very long at all.

I'm officially booked for my trip. Well, sort of. I'm flying down on the afternoon of January 26th so I don't have to fly on my birthday (who wants to spend time in an airport and on a plane on their birthday?). I was going to use my DVC points and there was availablility at the Boardwalk for that night, but when I called back that night, it was gone. So, I don't have a room booked yet. I figure worse case scenerio, I can use my points for a night at Saratoga Springs, or one of the moderates if I had to (I'm trying to not spend a lot of cash, and I have the DVC points available in my current use year).

I have booked the Dolphin for two nights, which I will be splitting with a friend. I had a vocher on JetBlue. So, I figure this quick weekend getaway is going to cost me $200 plus spending money, and reupping my AP (which had to be done anyways).

So, I'm going to Disney World for my birthday! Happy birthday to me!

Paula Happy Birthday to Christopher.

Thanks for the good wishes and thoughts for my doc visit yesterday. Good news is no surgery. Bad news is most likely not something that can be fixed either. Looks like I have what is termed "nutcracker" esophagus and currently not much to do about it. I am trying some change in the Nexium dose, then will go with other med (maybe). It kind of scares me that doc wants to subscribe calcium channel blockers if needed. This is often given to regulate high blood pressure and can be a danger in someone, like me, who does not need to take meds for blood pressure. If I go this route I will have to go in often for bp monitoring. Oh well, we'll see. I'm not going to let this get me down just yet. I'm almost ready to be packing for the DW Marathon Trip! Thinking happy thoughts and becoming hyper over the upcoming event.

How the heck does Cici's stay in business? We stopped there once with my parents and brother (as they live near one) and I was amazed at how inexpensive their buffet is. And the food is really good too.

Hey All,

Accccck not a good day here at all. First off when my youngest went billiwonkus on me yesterday and I had to pick him up and put him in the car I undid everything the rheumatologist did for my back. Im now back to wearing a brace and in wicked pain again. Of course the rheumatologist is closed this week also. Im basically alone at work. We have an MA but she does not know how to do anything much other than draw blood and do blood pressures and pulses. So the rest of it falls on me. I left early today because my back hurt so much and lo and behold I get to my car and what do I see but a gas leak! It was dripping all over the place. I had to call the fire department to get them to neutralize the spilled gas and get a tow truck out there to tow the car to the shop. It stopped leaking but the minute they started it up at the dealership to move it out of the way it started spewing gas again. Im also dealing with the fact that my eldest got into a fight at camp today.....something he has never ever done. I just got home a few minutes ago and I left my office at 3:45. Is today over yet??

Paula Im glad to hear you had a good christmas. Im sorry things are hard at home right now. Everyone is right come here and talk even if you dont say whats going on. KWIM? We are all here for you. We dont need to know whats happening just need to know you need huggies.

Karen how WONDERFUL that you get to go to Disney on your birthday and get to ride EE!! I am so happy for you!

Tara Im so sorry to hear you have the icckies. I will say prayers that you get well very soon.

Lily Im sorry to hear the news from the doctor wasnt more positive. I know of a lot of people who are on bp meds for things other than bp problems and they do very well on them. In fact my kids take a bp med to calm them down at night so they can sleep. They have never had a problem with too low blood pressure at all. We also used to use it routinely for palpitations when I worked for the cardiologist and it worked well for our patients without causing low bp.

RM sorry things are stressful for you also.

Suzanne Im so sorry to hear about what happened with your SIL. Im saying prayers that things calm down for your IL's and for you very soon. Thanks for the info on the robosapien. I think thats what Im gonna get eldest ds for his birthday. He will love it.....especially the bodily sounds ROFL!!
