Morning all! Lazy day here which is good since I am really stuffy. Going from below zero to 50 degrees in a day or so time really did a number on my sinuses. I do have to look up recipes for vegitarian stuffing soon though, but otherwise my day will be lazy :)

:wave2: Howdy Rose Mary! How was your Christmas?

 Suzanne... sorry it was so emtional. But enjoy that iPod! Sweet of Ed to load so much onto it for you!

Pam, that is so sweet what you do for your brother  We had much of the same weather as you yesterday. I was actually glad to see snow gone

Been wondering about Paula too :( Of course everytime I think of her I'm not on the computer... Paula, I just hope you are busy enjoying the time with your family home... check in if you can!!!

Yet another  for you Nancy... I bet that was a great gift to have him around like that!

Off to look up recipes and then see hwo behind on PMs I am ;)

Morning, all.

Yay, I got more than four hours sleep! :cool1:

I think what put me over the edge was that I was driving over the bridge and was thinking that last year, this time, in the car was all of us headed over to Mom's. I'm okay today, though.

Nancy, that must have been so nice to have all that time with your dad.

Pam, have they all abandoned you today to head to the ski slopes? Neat about the luminaries.

I need to be at work at 1:30, but I'm leaving at noon. Preparing for the insanity that is the parking lot!

Suzanne

Great Day! Ya Yas!

JRKaren, :earseek: I am glad you made it ok. You were right that it was not a "normal" wierdo. Because I know you are fine, I will say too sad for that young man.

Suzanne, I hope you have a great day at work.

Karen, I enjoyed reading about your day with the young ones. Nothing wrong with having young toys. We all enjoy our escapes into imagination around here. You are so correct that the daily pressures are enough for DS to need to have a few moments of yuong fun!

Glad everyone made it through the holiday weekend. We did too. Family dinner turned out wonderful yesterday and visiting with them was special as it always is. Glad we were at home hosting it. It made it so much easier.

Hope your holiday sadness turns into joys and that all have a great day today everyone. Ted just said he wants to go out and asked if I would like to join him. I didn't ask where. Later...

Hi All,

Thanks all for understanding about Ds. I just wish my ILs would get it. He has been having a blast the last couple of days and its just so nice to see him relaxed and enjoying himself. The boys are actually even getting along a lot better and having fun with each other playing with the imagination toys.

My eldest was out there today learning to ride his bike. My friend and her girls came over and they were helping ds. It was so cute because ds has a crush on one of them LOL!! He is starting to get it and in no time will be riding like a champ. We did discover that the bike we got him is a little too small for him but good enough at the moment for him to learn to ride. As soon as he gets proficient at it we will get him a bigger bike and give the smaller one to our other ds and give his to the Lords Gift House. The bikes were very very inexpensive so I dont mind doing that. I already have the bike picked out that we will get my eldest ds and it too is inexpensive but nice. I think dh and I will get the same bikes. Just have to wait for them to get back into stock at Walmart again.

Dh is actually making our Christmas dinner as we speak. We got home so late from my ILs yesterday that we didnt have time to make the turkey. Dh made the turkey last night and he will heat that and make the rest of the stuff and we will have that for din din tonight. We are just taking things as they come this weekend. No stressing.

Liz Im sorry to hear about you having diabetes. If there is anything I can do to help I would be glad to. I know a lot about it because both my parents were diabetic and on insulin. Good luck on the diet and exercise. Im sure you will do well.

Elaine it sounds like you had a fun day yesterday.

Suzanne my heart goes out to you. It must have been so hard for you yesterday. You know Im always here to listen if you need a friend. I hope work wasnt too crazy for you today. We did our part to calm down the insanity that is the day after Christmas....LOL we stayed home and didnt shop ROFL!!!

Pam what a wonderful tradition and sentiment. I love that idea. I bet your brother is looking down and smiling my dear.

Nancy Im so glad you have that wonderful memory of your dad and got some wonderful time in with him before he passed away.

Lily where did you and Ted end up going? LOL! How is the training going for the marathon? Im just praying it wont be cold for you the day of the marathon. Of course my definition of cold and yours is probably different LOL!

Merry Christmas Rosemary. How was your christmas sweetie?

Ive also noticed that Paula hasnt been here and Im a little worried now that I hear she hasnt been online here at all for a couple of weeks.

Well din din is ready and then Im gonna go snuggle with the kidlets until its time for them to go to bed. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Hi all! Been hanging out all day with Luis and just relaxing. Been knitting while watching a ton of football. Though now he is watching hockey.

Suzanne, I can imagine a thought like that would put you over the edge. It's amazing what little thoughts will do that to me as well.

Lily, hope you enjoyed the evening out. Where did you wind up going?

Karen, I hope your delayed dinner was good!

We'll be having ours tomorrow and will go shopping for foods sometime in the morning I think.

I am about to crawl back into bed and see if I can finish my iPod cover. Well at least most of it. I need a crochet hook to finish it off completely.

hi gang,

don't have the time for a good ketchup...still recovering from the last couple of weeks! All I wnat to do is sleep. So as much as I can get E to lay down i'm laying down!! woohoo.

Had a great christmas here. Jarrod was tickled to death that santa got him his batman computer and the dinosaur thing...oh and the directions they forgot to put in the box apparently had fallen out while we were taking the dang thing out of the box and had slipped behind us! We were so tired we didn't even think to look around farther than the box for it! DUH!!!

Jarrod is in Blacksburg with his grandparents. He doesn't seem too fazed about seeing people "vaporized" in church!! :rotfl: He sounds like he is having a good time!

Off to have some homemade cheesecake for dinner and then have a desert of Andes Mint flavored homemade fudge. Then I might have a snack later of some ham :teeth:

hugs to all !!

Hi all!!

Had a great Christmas. Dinner yesterday was yummy and we had a blast hanging out, playing games, and watching movies. :teeth:
The boys are THRILLED with their XBox 360. :bounce:

Evening, ya'll! Good Christmas here, too, yesterday, except for the weather. Dave and I drove up to NJ to visit with his family and it poured rain the entire trip. We sat with his mom at the rehab center for a couple of hours and she is definitely looking better. Poor dear is looking like she's auditioning to be a human map with the bruises on her hands and arms from the number of times they poked her trying to get blood! But her feet are warm for the first time in years, so they are VERY encouraged that putting in the pacemaker was the right thing to do. Best part of the day, of course, was getting to hold the newest family member. Little Lizzie is almost 7 months old and LOVES to be held! I was the lucky "holdee" when she decided it was time for a little nap, so I got a nice long turn.

Been a busy day with 8 hours at the store and then packing boxes all evening. I am totally bushed and looking for my pillow now. Glad to hear ya'll had great holidays, even with the bittersweet memories. Hope it's a great night with sweet dreams for ya'll. I'll ketchup with ya tomorrow! :grouphug:

Evening, all.

Had a reality check tonight. As sad as Ed and I have been, missing our relatives this holiday, we could be in worse shape. Dear friends of ours (Ed was in his wedding party) were expecting their second child on the 14th. I grew concerned that their website hadn't been updated and thought that Brian Joseph was going to be stubborn and come after Christmas. Unfortunately, sometime in the past week, Brian died in utero. His mom was induced on the 23rd. The doctors are baffled, and from all reports, he was a perfect looking little angel.

If you can spare prayers for my friends Joe, his wife Maureen and their daughter Emma. I cannot imagine the pain they're suffering and wish I wasn't so far away from them.

Suzanne

Oh Suzanne I am so sorry. Joe, Maureen and Emma will be in my prayers. I feel so badly for them.

Suzanne I noticed on another thread that you got the Robosapien for your kidlets for Christmas. Which one did you get? The regular Robosapien or the Robosapien V2? Eldest ds was looking at the roboraptor but it got such horrible reviews on the sites that Im considering getting him the robosapien. As you said on the thread with the bodily sounds it will fit right in here ROFL!! Where did you get yours? I have been looking at the Radio Shack site but it says none of the stores in my area have it....although I could swear I saw it at the one by our house. They also have it on Walmart.com but believe it or not its more expensive than at Radio Shack!

Tara I hear ya on the catching up from the weeks before Christmas. I did the sleeping in thing yesterday too. Its the first time in I cant tell you how long that we didnt have to get up for something or other.

Elaine dinner came out very good. Dh did a good job LOL!! We have leftovers but not as much as I thought we would. Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day with Luis.

Whats everyones plans for NYE? We are just going to stay home. I am going to pick up some fireworks from the store and we will shoot those off and just have some nice snacks and some champers for the toast....um the kidlets will get gingerale....if they stay up long enough LOL.

Welp if I can get the cat off my pillow and the dog off the middle of my bed I think I will go back to sleep for awhile. Dh is the only one that really needs to be up since he has to go to work. The kidlets are staying home with me today instead of going to camp. I was going to make them clean their room today but I just might give them a reprieve and just have some fun today and make some cookies etc....

I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Good morning, all. Just popping in for a quick visit.

I had a nice Christmas (oops, I edited because I typed in Thanksgiving--what was I thinking). My family used to do a joke gift every Christmas, and it was always my father's favorite thing--he would buy at least a dozen things, and wrap them each for the person he had. We haven't done one in about 10 years, but I asked I thought we should bring it back this year in memory of my dad, so we did. I had my nephew Rob. Rob has been on this very long phase where he doesn't like to kiss people or let people kiss him. So I went with a kissing theme. I got him misletoe, lip balm, and three different sizes of Hershey's Kisses. He was laughing when he saw it.

Suzanne, that is so sad about your friend's son. What a shocker for that family. I'll send out some good thoughts and prayers for them.

Well, that's all I have time for right now. Have a great day, everyone!

JellyrollsKaren

Morning, all.

Wow-the kids let me sleep! Kevin came in for some snuggle time. I needed it.

Karen, the box is already at the curb, I'm assuming it's the basic Robosapien. It came with another one that we call "Mini Me". Ed got it at Target for 79.99, it was tagged as a Robodog! Kevin had mentioned wanting the Raptor, but he's quite pleased with the one he got. Last year, we were at Epcot, and they were playing with one. The bugger was nearly 200 bucks!

JRKaren, how sweet that you restored your Dad's tradition.

I'm going to be my SIL's personal 'Peapod" delivery service today. She emailed the grocery list and I'll be shopping. I'm thinking of going to Peapod's website, grabbing the graphic and printing it and putting it on the car! In the NY market, they use Beetles to deliver, so why not? :rotfl: I have to laugh right now-it's what's getting me through.

Suzanne

Morning all! Quick hi here... will be going grocery shopping sometime soon for food for tonight.

Glad to hear that y'all had great Christmases! I'll let you know how ours finished off today ;)

I should probably get moving... but Suzanne that is so sad :(

I'll check in later!

Good morning.

sorry to hear about the friend and baby :(

Have a good after-Christmas celebration, Elaine.

I like that idea, Karen.....glad you could restore it.

I'm headed out for shopping :bounce: Been in the house long enough ;)

Doing nothing here NYE....we like to stay home. Watch movies most likely.

NYE will be quiet here, I think. We'll probably watch the fireworks neighbors set off and have hors d'oevres and fondue. I'm debating letting the kids stay up, but I'm pretty sure they'll conk out before midnight!

Suzanne

Good morning Y'all-Y'alls! I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas.

Liz, I'm sure you will be able to control your diabetes; hang in there - you can do it!

Suzanne, that is such a tragedy for your friends; I'm so sorry to hear about it.

Hugs also to all the YaYas missing loved ones at Christmas.

Karen, it sounds like a beautiful Christmas Eve service at your church. We went to a friends' church for their Christmas Eve service because we don't care for ours. :teeth:

Speaking of churches, I thought vaporized was what happens if you choke on fumes from incense burning at some churches. :confused3 (LY/MI Lainey :) )

And I was with Suzanne on thinking they were the only two who were raptured. :)

JRKaren, I feel sorry for the kid too, but am really sorry he was creeping you out. I think there was a guy trying to grab Tara's butt too but he gave her a plant first. :rolleyes1

Quick hi here... off to do some cooking now :)

Alan, you're a twit, you know that?

I forgot to say NYE for us will be at my friend's place. I've known Kevin longer than any other friend (okay well just as long as the only other friend I have from 2nd grade) and he throws a good bash for everyone! So we'll be there :)

Morning Ya Yas! Yes, I started this really early...

I'm driving into work and my cell rings. Boss said she is not going to be in today. I am all alone here. Co-worker is on vaca cuz day care is closed this week. Oh well, lots to do so I hope I don't have many distractions.

I get into work and the phone rings right as I sit down. Oh no, not one of these days. Nope, it was my hairdresser. She is sick so no hairs done today. Oh my, what will I do with all this time on my hands?

About a half hour after that comes the extreme sadness call. Reality check here too. Gentle person I worked with in my former department just retired. Had their family Christmas celebration the week before Christmas then he and wife head down to be snowbirds in FL. Christmas he is gone. Massive heart attack and that was it. Lots of tears here. He is/was my age.

Tomorrow a.m. I've got my doc follow-up to hear the results of the esophageal manometry. I've talked Ted into going with me to hear what my brain will not retain.

More later...I wanted to post up this part then I'll continue with ketchup.

Hi y'all... I am very tired...

dinner was good...

got lots of nice stuff

see y'all later!

Evening.

Kids are in bed, we're here listening to Sirius. Ed reveals that he wants the 60gb iPod, lol. He thought he was going to play with mine when I wasn't using it, but he hasn't seen much of it yet! :rotfl:

Off to Epcot tomorrow, anyone got any shopping for me? :teeth:

Suzanne
