:teeth: Ok, I'm gonna try this again. Had the most beautiful, witty post of a lifetime last night and guess what??? It got ate and I got  and went to bed. Better not happen this a.m. 'cause I can't go back to bed.

Kimmie-can't believe that package winged it's way across the country that quickly! I ONLY mailed it Sat. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you!

AND I got one of the bestest packages yesterday too WooHoo! :bounce: :Pinkbounc Had all these neat goodies in it:
Fridge magnet, Christmas socks, mini Merry Berry bonsai tree (always wanted one), Holiday hankies, Ocean Water car jar (my fave, how did ya know  ), 2006 Pocket Planner (so maybe I can be organized this coming year), Barnes Noble gift card (where I will have a Starbucks :teeth: ), Andes cherries jubilee mints (YUM) And :Pinkbounc :bounce: last but, not least a Mickey's Magic Sparkle Night Light VERY COOL! Thank you so much PAULA!!!! I really loved unwrapping everything and oohing and aahhing :teeth: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
(oops, forget to add the really cute blue coffee mug :teeth: )
Lainey- hope you get to feeling better soon, need a Christmas hankie? ;)

going to bed with some drugs (wish it were a male...but hey, drugs are the next best thing!!)
::yes::
Tara- you should keep that counter thingie, we missed our trip to Germany :sad2: I thought it was so cute Grandpa Dave w/Ethan and Jarrod was great, at least when I was around. I would hang w/you guys at WDW anytime. Hmmm, maybe you should move up that counter thingie :teeth:
Nancy- Is Disney Treasures a DVD? Does it come out today also? I'll have to look for it. How 'bout that fudge? Is it done?
:wave2: Suzanne, sounds like you got a really great package too!
Better get a move on and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a super spectacular day!

Good morning everyone....

Rosemary - so glad you liked the package - I had great fun picking the things out for you!!

I just took inventory of all the gifts that I have bought so far.....hmmmm....looking like I'm not in very good shape.....

I have to admit I still buy the same # of gifts for the kids to open - has to be even after all....

Today is baking and wrapping.....

More later.....

Morning Ya Yas!

RM nice package. You did a great second ketchup after your sleep. ;)

Was a busy eve for us. When we finally settled in, it was a major headache. Mom must choose her medication provider and health care provider and all that junk with the new medicare requirements. It is not a simple task for us. Lots of questions and not easy to find answers.

Have a magical day everyone...

Morning all... a bit bummed. Luis just called not too long ago and said that he has to go to Alabama today for a couple of days :( I don't like it when he leaves me.

Paula, glad everything is going so well with Church. I admit I haven't been to confession in a long time either. Though I still remember from my days back in CCD where I was taught to say "Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It's been (blank amount of time) since I've been to confession"
Never did like saying how long I had been w/o ;) Though it wasn't bad when I was in the Catholic school. They made us go every so often :p I have odd thoughts on that whole confession thing anyway.

Moving on.... ;)

Lily, as people always say though... I'd rather be at WDW with a cold then be at home with one... at least there it is happy pixie dust everywhere :p

Woo hoo, sounds like you got a great package there Rose Mary!!!
Christmas hankie? That just made me laugh :teeth:

Going to decorate the tree today... and I hope Luis will get home soon so I can hold him for a while.

Good morning, Ya Yas! Ughh, getting back to work was not easy--brain simply would not switch out of "vacation mode"! Still hadn't quite found my groove when I got off. Happily, winter has arrived and we got our first real snowstorm of the season last night. I admit it, I'm strange--I actually enjoyed cleaning off the car and scraping the windows! Love the crisp cold air!! It feels sooooo much like Christmas!

Speaking of which--I need to get to the mall before work today. Did not get all my exchange shopping done and I need to find a couple more things. Everything I have so far is wrapped, though, so my package will be going out quite soon. Nancy, please extend my apologies to my exchangee for being late :guilty:

Love hearing about the Christmas shopping and decorating and all! Keep it coming! But for now, I must dash if I'm going to have any shopping time this morning. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

::yes:: But you're just so darn  that we forgive you for that trait! :teeth:

Yay Suzanne got her Roadkill Package! :Pinkbounc Admit it - you were skeered to open it, weren't you?? I thought it was very tame, if I do say so myself!

I have tons of work to do - just found out that the deadline got moved up to NEXT WEEK due to Christmas! :faint: And I have to do some furniture moving to get the tree inside. All done shopping, just need to finish wrapping gifts.

Sounds like Kim and Rose Mary received outstanding Ya Ya packages! :cheer2:

Tara - too cute about Jar taking to JRKaren and Ethan to Dave! :goodvibes

Lainey - you can come stay here while Luis is out of town - you can sleep on the couch with Gunny! :dog2: (But I have to warn you that he does snore!)

Paula - don't you just hate it when your kid gives you a list at the list moment and you don't have a single thing on it! I bet she will love everything that you did get her! That purse sounds heavenly!

Nancy - found another card address! :rotfl:

Good morning.
We actually warmed up a little. It's not below freezing :sunny:

Sorry, Luis is leaving for a few days Elaine. At least you still have the kitties :)
Taffy has enjoyed Dave being gone. She likes to sleep on his side of the bed.

Beth...I think we can forgive you for being a bit late ;)

Rose Mary, Disney Treasures are a collection of old Disney cartoons, TV shows, behind the scenes, etc. They come in metal tins too :)
Dave loves the old cartoons.
4 or so come out every year.

No fudge yet, didn't have enough marshmallow cream. So today, or tomorrow.

I am off to the post office (my home away from home  ) and running errands.

/
Well - I have to do my first Christmas gift return -- got the order from Victoria's Secret and the sweater DS got for his sister is nothing like what was pictured in the catalog. It feels very itchy, too and we know she won't wear that. And the color is horrid in RL.

We went to American Eagle last night and stumbled onto a great sweater sale - so he got her a beautiful one that was orignally $58.50 -- for $29.00.

Chocolate covered pretzels are done - moving on to Holiday M&M cookies.....

Elaine, sorry Luis is going. What short notice! My Missy likes Ted's pillow when he's not there.

Mmmm, holiday baking!

Pam, Sorry for pre-holiday gift returns. But wise shopping replacement there!

Beth, hope that first day back thing goes well.

Let's see if I can ketchup before the kids need me!!

Elaine...Sorry Luis has to leave you! He's probably doing it b/c you are leaving him in a couple of months!! :teeth: When you get done with your christmas decorating please feel free to travel to Virginia Beach to do mine!! I love the decorations but it is such a tedious task of putting things up that all I usually do is move it out so mom can put it up and then I put it away!!

Nancy...so how is Dave liking VB? At least the weather today is nicer than yesterday!! You need to come out to Williamsburg...they have a giant Yankee Candle place that is apparently always decorated for Christmas. It is a stand alone structure so I thought it was a factory but apparently it is a retail location!!!

Pam...sorry Vicky didn't deliver!! But good thing others were having a good sale! Good luck on that deadline...remember no partying on friday nights!!!

Paula...good luck with the church thing. I know nothing about the Catholic church! I'm impressed that you are getting baking done. I want to do it this year too....but wanting to do it and really doing it are two totally different things!

RM...I thought about you when we did make it Germany!! I almost went in and had one for you, one for me, one for Suzanne, and one for Beth (well...I think I was supposed to have cake or something there!) but I decided I didn't want to stumble that badly around for the rest of the day :rotfl:

Beth...welcome back to the working world!! Sucks don't it??? I swear I hear the buses outside my room at night now!! Could you please tell Typohid Dave thanks for the bugs!!! Ethan is now sporting the WDW flu!! He was cranky last night and today he has the head cold portion as well as a gastrointestinal issue. Poor kid is not fun right now! So I think since Dave was the first to get sick we should blame him!!! :teeth: !!!!

Lily....you are right that at least it was the second counter that went back and not the first!! hehehe I don't want that one to EVER go backwards. I'm going back to work out for the first time in a month (missed a week and a half to my surgery and then the next to Disney!!). And to make matters worse tonight is my weigh in! So I will see how bad or how well I did at Disney! My goal would be to either maintain from Nov. or to have lost a pound!! That would tickle me to death!!!

Me time!! hehe (like it isn't always me time!!)
I think I mentioned that i was having trouble downloading photos the night I got home. So yesterday I finally gave up and went to the Kodak website to download the software that goes with my camera. I get the program downloaded and it asks if I want to export my photos from iPhoto to it. So I click yes and it opens my iPhoto. Next it asks me if I'm ready to download all 903 pictures. I click yes. Next thing I know there's a dialog box from iPhoto saying "Would you like iPhoto to download your photos from your camera?" I wanted to scream. It would down load the pictures until it got jealous b/c I had switched programs!! So I said yes and the pictures were download to both programs. However, it did tell me there was one picture that it couldn't download b/c it was corrupted or soemthing....I tried to figure out which picture but I couldn't so I guess it is no big deal that it didn't download! Now I can work on putting some of them on imagestation and showing them off.

I have seen the pictures to my photopass but I'm not sure how to make it so others can see it, so as soon as I have that done I'll show those too.

Okay, students are beginning to get restless I must pace the room with my "hairy eyeball"!!

More later!!
tara

Ugh, not getting enough done today. I suppose I can work on the tree some more though later on.

Bethie, you are strange :p Seriously I am glad you enjoyed the snow! I can't say I did, but our first snow was as soon as we stepped off the plane from Orlando. I am having such a hard time getting out of vacation mode. still feels like it should be the weekend to me!

Pammy, thanks for that offer! I might come right on over... the snoring pup would keep me company. It is silly, but I miss him already. he wouldn't e here, but the idea of him being gone just... meh... I get sappy sometimes

Nancy, do they know you by name now at the PO? ;) Yep, I still have the kitties and htey are a big help. I think if I weren't so blah after the trip, this wouldn't be so hard on me. Oh and the kitties still sleep on my side when Luis is gone. I jsut don't sleep well w/o him.

Paula, got any to share? :teeth:

Oh Pam, serious question about the VS order. Which sweater are you having to return? I found one I thouht I would like from them, but don't want to waste the time if it isn't very pretty.

Lily, it was very short notice. A server died and the only spare is in Decatur, AL. They can't ship them by air so it wouldn't make it fast enough by any other means, so there went Luis.

I'm such a wuss about it... oh well... I have knitting I need to do though so I ought to do some of that!

To those that might want it:
:sunny:

PIEROGI

Ingredients

2 Cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

In a measuring cup add:
* * 1 Egg
* * 1 Tablespoon oil
* * and enough water to equal 3/4 cup

Directions:

Mix the flour with the salt in a deep bowl. Add the egg mixture to make a medium soft dough. Knead on a floured board until smooth. (Kneed until not sticky.) Divide the dough into two parts. Wrap in Saran wrap and let rest. Roll the dough quite thin on a floured board. Cut rounds with a large biscuit cutter or with the open end of a glass. Place about a Tablespoonful or so of the filling on it, fold over to form a half circle and press the edges together with the fingers. (Can press a few times back and forth to be sure sealed; can moisten inside edge with dab of water before folding.) Place the pierogi on a floured board or a tea towel, and cover with a tea towel to prevent drying. Drop a few pierogi at a time into a large quantity of rapidly boiling salted water. Stir gently with a wooden spoon to separate them and prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pot. When they come up to the surface cook for three to five (3 5) minutes. Remove them with a perforated spoon or skimmer to a colander and drain thoroughly. Place in a deep dish and sprinkle generously with butter.

POTATO AND CHEESE FILLING

Ingredients:

3 cups hot mashed potatoes
6 ounces cream cheese
2 ounces American cheese or cheddar cheese
2 Tablespoons onions (sautéed)
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Mix all ingredients well.

Lily, thanks for that recipe! It just hit me that they are awfully similar to my empanadas. (dough with stuff inside like cheese, meat or something else). Not sure why I didn't try potatoes & cheese in the empanada dough before now :p

Not sure how Dave is liking Virginia Beach...not sure if he has seen anything.
They work you really hard at those things. He called to check in at 12:30 am on Sunday  They had just finished setting up.
I do think he walked somewhere around the beach on Sunday morning. :confused3

Yes, of course they know my name at the PO. I live in a small town. Everyone knows my name  We only have 2 regular postal clerks and since I am in almost every week....it doesn't take long. And they are still waiting for their cookies :teeth:
I should have them all finished tomorrow.....and will take them some next trip which might be Friday. I still have Geoff's package to ship. I had too many today and then ran out of time, so it is still sitting in the car.

But DVDs are bought :teeth:
I refuse to go shopping at Costco or WalMart anymore before Christmas!! They are zoos!! Took forever to check out at WM....lady had to count all her one dollar bills out after scanning about 6 gift cards

...because then they would be called pierogis! :rotfl:

Lily :rotfl:
Good point!

Thanks so much Pam! I was looking at one of those (but the v-neck or scoop neck instead of the turtleneck) guess I won't order one

Nancy, i hope Dave gets to enjoy it some while there. Busy sounding guy. That is too funny about the PO. I rarely go to mine. I actually avoid it at all costs, and use the automated stuff when I can. I hated having to get into line for the international stamps I was buying yesterday.

We're too small to have automated anything ;)

Thank you for the Pam Family card :teeth:

Going to mix my cookie dough for the cutouts I will do tomorrow.
I will get a full day of baking tomorrow as I wait for the garage door to be installed. Dave made the arrangements and I have no idea when they are supposed to come, so I planned the whole day to stay home. So baking....and maybe fudge making it will be.
