Hi y'all here to do a real ketchup finally!

I was super tired this morning not really due to getting out of bed at 6 am, but mostly due to not sleeping much last night. We had a huge bunch of storms blow through. I couldn't fall asleep for some stupid reason and when I did, the storms came through and made it rough. So I took a teeny nap this afternoon and plan on getting int he shower again to see if that wakes me up some for mass tonight.

Pam, I totally agree, chocolate cake does rule! There wasn't any of it left after last night  I'll try the lemon some time though when I am in the mood for a "spring like" cake.

Paula  sorry your day yesterday was so rough. I hope you like the haircut today though. I bet it looks fabulous on you!

Tony, I agree with you on that rain! Yuck stuff, though the temps were nice :teeth: And I love that pic!!!! You need to get that on a shirt! That is to funny :rotfl:

Tara, sounds like you had a busy day yesterday... and now you are sick :( I hope you are able to fight it off soon

Sherry, I do hope that they can find something from teh cup or somewhere else inside the car. I am just glad he got his stuff back... still so shocked it happened in the first place though :(
Have fun bike shopping & out at dinner! Sounds great!!!

Nancy, how did the rest of cleaning go yesterday! As for sleeping, I am usually wide awake at about 6am. The cats are not on a schedule (grazing always) so they dont' get me out of bed. A lot of my Sunday mornings are actually spent with them in bed playing and cuddling. I like their way of dealing in the morning ;)

Suzanne, I saw your IM this morning... the cake was awesome! It is a great recipe and easy to make. I like that it doesn't have egg in it either! I hope you are feeling better after the bad tummy you've had the last couple of days.

Paula, I think that outfit sounds great (oh pass the bread please ;))! Actually that sounds perfect for the theater. I know some really dress up (Luis and I will if we are doing fancy nights out) and others wear jeans. So I think your outfit sounds perfect.

Rips or frays in the jeans Kimmie? Yeah, that was one thing I didn't get asked... of course I don't think I look like the rip/fray type. The girl at Lucky store (come visit and we can go to mine together ;)) just asked if I trusted her and picked styles she thought might flatter my figure. She also was sweet enough to tell me to ignore the sizes in a couple of the fits and washes as they are made by hand and those for whatever reason were smaller. She was sweet and said "Size never matters" She was good too... she picked great fits for me, and sadly I went with the style that was made a size or two smaller than usual :rotfl: Those jeans are neat though, you can tell they do it differently there. They do cut them then wash the jeans for fading. That's why my light pair are a size bigger than my dark pair. Usually done the opposite way

K, enough silly jeans rambling... I still love mine :teeth:

tuh oh, Kimmar is in an evil mood?

Howdy John!!!! Hey are you still having the Memorial Day picnic this year?

LOL, Nancy, I like the way you "fight back" with Dave & calling :p

Oh and hi Lily and anyone else I forgot!

I'm off to finish up here and then shower :)

Believe it or not, you are the first one to ask about the picnic. Last year Sue suggested that we combine our annual picnic with James' graduation party, so that is the plan. So unless something changes between now and Memorial Day, we will celebrate a week later on Sunday June 4th. Everyone is invited to help us celebrate James' graduation. It may be a bit more crowded than usual, but Sue promised to setup a place for the DISers to hang out.

Looks like I'll be in Columbus for the Science Olympiad state competition on April 29th. Sue is going to chaparone, but I am free to have lunch with friends (again her suggestion). So if anyone is up for lunch, let me know.

Evening, all!

We decided to venture close to home and went over to the home show. Saw our wine saleslady and got more wine, woohoo! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :woohoo: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Can you tell I love wine? Got some flyers from some fence companies, a spa company and a play apparatus company.

The play apparatus guy was working hard to sell us one-told him we needed the fence first. So then he says, it's cheaper to buy the stuff at Home Depot and get someone else to install it. Then he calls over one of their guys who does installs on the side! Yay! Not a moment too soon, the blasted kids were playing football in our yard again and couldn't understand why we were upset! (Every last one of them seems to be from a rental house)

Lainey, I'm a chocolate cake girl, but I'm with you, sometimes a light, springy cake goes down really well.

Nancy, that's right, gloat when you're somewhere fun and he's toiling away at work!

John, cool on another year of Ohio's most awaited spring barbeque!

Did Julian pick out his bike? Having a big steak?

Tiara, hope you feel better soon.

Let's see what the doctor says tomorrow...

have a great day gang!!

tara

..... :thumbsup2

How are you doing, Tara?

We want to hear about the bike ::yes::

Actually it isn't food she wants in the mornings. They always have food out.
She wants to go outside when the sun comes up  It may only be for a minute, but she is insistant about it.

Cleaning!! I'm tired of it.
But I did get the whole upstairs totally done.
Now I am beat and want to sit and veg....but I am grilling that steak and having a baked potato like Tony was talking about ;)

Hi everyone....

I ended up working till 6pm - then Ryan e-mailed me his history mid-term paper to proofread.
Suppers not ready yet - man my husband just loved to eat late.

Kimmie ....it's an evening performance - last night of the tour in Providence. We'll be going out for italian first.

:flower3:  :flower3: rest well on that couch Tara
Suzanne - speaning of wine - my brother in law brought us a bottle of his elderberry wine - it was really good.

Nancy -I think I'd rather be cleaning all day than working....

 Hi Elaine - I'll try to IM you tomorrow....

Made tentative plans for my dad'd birthday today - he will be 80 on the 22nd - decided to wait till Alyssa is home in April and have a big cake - etc - we'll have his "lady friend" and her family also. Getting him a new tv!!

Dinners finally ready - gotta run.... :wave2: :moped:

Back from some dinner...gonna go for a soak in a few minutes.

paula, I've never had elderberry wine, but it always reminds me of a play I did "Arsenic and Old Lace"...the old ladies off gentleman callers with elderberry wine.

Local public television station station is showing Springsteen footage from '75. Gosh, he looks like a street punk. Can't stand him, but Ed is fascinated

Nancy, my dinner was just like yours. Course, I didn't cook mine :teeth: .

Nighty night!

Suzanne

Good morning y'all! I was too tired to deal with slow boards last night so I gave up posting at all :p

Thanks John! Not sure we would be able to do that on a Sunday since Luis will have work the next day, but hopefully we can make it. If not, April 29th is free for us at the moment for lunch ::yes::

Suzanne, it is really tempting with the whole wino thing, but I won't go there. Glad you got your fence up though. It's one thing to have kids play in your yard when they are playing with your own kids... another to just do it w/o permission.

oh, I didn't even think of cats going outside  Ours are not allowed outside at all. Just is not an area where I think it is safe for them to do it. Mine would rather snuggle at 6:30 :goodvibes:

Paula, I may be around today... I am trying to get better with marking my status as away or not if I am there so that people don't IM me adn wonder why I don't reply :o I think the birthday for your dad sounds awesome! Lucky guy!

Laundry day here... better get started... catch y'all later!

hey gang,

Sorry Kimmar didn't mean to give ya a scare there. I felt like a mac truck had run me down. Actually I still do but I'm determined to tough it out. I don't have time to be sick!

I slept for almost 5 hours yesterday afternoon and then went to bed at 830 last night. I managed to get the kids bathed and in bed before 8 last night. I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up because I was hot or I was hearing the baby coughing.

I've put a barricade up aroudn my desk telling the kids they are not allowed near me since I've got a cold. I don't want to spread my germies around. I also promise not to cough on the computer!! hehehe

Now let's try some ketchup:

SPeaking of cats...Jarrod announced the other day that as soon as he has his own money he is going to buy his OWN cat! :lmao: This was shortly after telling me that he wants his own dog and some fish!! I just look at him and do my deaf nod...uh-huh! you go for it!! Shame you have only earned $1.02 recently (he gets .51 cents for things he does extra around the house. This way he can earn money for the penny press machines!)

Wine...I heard on the radio this morning that if you drink red wine (moderately of course) you will help prevent periodontal disease!! hehehe

Cake...I enjoy chocolate cake but I love a lemon bundt cake with lemon icing!! yumm!!

Picnics in june...sounds like fun...wish I didn't live so far!!

Bikes...poor jarrod is so uncoordinated I don't know how i'm ever going to teach him to ride a bike. He can't even get his tricycle going!! maybe one day hei'll get the hang of it!!

Jeans...I only wear Lee or the Lee brand at Walmart (can't think of the name right now)

speaking of 4GB....I saw a man wearing a brown UPS outfit today and I figured out which car was his by the license plate holder "My other car is a big brown truck!" I wonedered if her DH had one of those.

Plays...dang I gotta go back and see what play we are talking bout. The last play i remember being mentioned was "On Golden Pond" guess I missed something.

Ya'lluns have a great day. I hope to be back later today. Once themeds kick in and make me feel better!! Hey, at Least this has chased Jack away for a while!! hehehe

tara

We can chat more about lunch as the date approaches.

BTW - The graduation party just happens to fall on my 51st birthday. Oh joy. Sue wanted me to tell everyone that they are under no obligation whatsoever to feel that they must bring a graduation gift to the picnic on June 4th. The rules are the same. Just bring yourself. There will be plenty of food and soft drinks. Perhaps even some banana punch.

Hope to see some of you as we celebrate birthday / graduation / Disney.

sorry you are still feeling bad, Tara.

Good luck with the doc, Suzanne.

Have fun doing laundry, Elaine. That is one chore I really don't mind.....good thing, lots will be coming back with Dave after being gone for 2 weeks

I'm sure you will have a great celebration, John....sounds like a lot to celebrate.

Dave saw Sweeney Todd yesterday :teeth:
He had a wonderful day in NY....not it is back to work and travel for him.

been working on stuff this morning and I decided to finally take a break

Tara, that was a heck of a ketchup there!!!! Especially after being sick! I do hope you can get over this one quickly though

Hmmm... now I really want to make that lemon cake. If I have time I could make it and bring it with me to knitting... hmmm... I would need to go to the store first though

Good luck at the doc, Suzanne!

So Sue said not to bring a graduation gift... but you didn't meantion anything about your birthday and not bringing a gift!!! :teeth: I'll run the picnic by Luis a little later on in the spring. He might be good for it, though we might not stay as late as normal ;) However if we are still in school mode at Ohio State, that would be the last week of evening mass so I am not sure we'd want to skip that (saying by to people usually then)

But, as April gets closer, let me know what the plans are for lunch. I'll make sure we don't have anythign really special planned for that afternoon at least.

Nancy, I don't mind laundry either as long as I get to it once a week at least. Otherwise it gets out of control and takes too long to get through everything. Speaking of which, I think I need to throw the clothes into the dryer and get the others in the wash. Only two loads to get through today :)

Boards are too slow
And I need to get busy.
But had to say this:

BOOKED ROOM FOR JANUARY!! :hyper:

No birthday gifts either. In fact, I should give everyone who comes to the party something, just to get rid of some of the clutter around our house. I decided that, after 50 years of collecting stuff, it's time to start getting rid of stuff. So far I'm not doing a very good job of that.

Luis' pleading eyes with chocolate won out.

I'm sure you have given into both chocolate and Luis' pleading eyes at one time or another - how could you refuse both?

ask me again tomorrow after I go buy a hairbrush....seems all of mine are missing (either that or I gave it to the peach - sorry Veggitales reference there).

Not only did you not have to explain but now I have the song in my head for the rest of the day.

Is this your Eleventy-first birthday? That's what Hobbits do at their parties, after all.

And speaking of birthdays...

We had Abigail's 6th Birthday Party Saturday.

Hi all!!!!! I was told that I should come check in since I've been absent :)

Elaine.....are you still enjoying the domestic goddess job? ;) wish I could join you. I'll take some of that lemon cake when you're done :teeth:

Tara I hope you feel better soon!!!

Nancy I like your idea for getting back at Dave.

TC happy early birthday and congrats to your son on his upcoming graduation.

Suzanne good luck at the doc. I completely sympathize with you about the neighborhood kids.

 Kimmar, Sherry, Paula, anyone else I missed in the one page ketchup.

Hm... I'll pass on that gift ;) I'm doing my best to try to declutter my house. It's a bit slow going, but I am finally at a better place.

Woo hoo for booking your room Nancy!!!
Boards are slow for me too

I have an impossible time resisting Luis' pleading eyes... they are so dang expressive (and sexy too)

Just finished clearing off a dresser top not too long ago. I am so proud of myself, there was stuff sitting there collecting dust for years! Anyone else ever wish Clean Sweep would come into their house and help out?
