Alan, hope you enjoyed the movie

Rose Mary, out of all that, I just want to know one thing. Did you get your Wii? Sorry about the weather though. I hate it when it changes drastically like that.

Tara, be careful what you wish for... you might just get it. Though I think our snow was mostly melted by some rain. Odd weather here lately. I did see some snow falling earlier too.

Sherry, Luis and I were thrilled to see the Browns win. I wish we had been able to watch the whole game. It looked awesome and much like a game I would want to watch. I love messy games :teeth:

Whiners? :duck:
No movies here obviously with our little guy, but i hope you get to see it Todd. If you do go, let me know how it is. I'm sure we'll wait for DVD to see it.

.....WAH! I want snow!!! I'm hoping that if I cry loud enough someone will feel sorry for me and will send it my way!! hehehe.....

...BLECCCHHHH!!! You can have OURS.......

Elaine - No I wasn't actually there to get a WII (altho' I do want one). One of the cashiers told me there were people waiting outside at 3:30 a.m. I can't think of anything I want that bad!
OK - everybody ship the snow and the cold weird weather to Tara! :rolleyes1I am SO ready to go home. Just feel blech!

Holy crap!! 3:30am? No way I would do that! I'd probably sooner spend too much on one via e-bay ;) Hope you feel better soon

Rosemary--the Wii is so much fun.. One very nice Fathers Day gift:love:

Elaine--I'll be sure to let you know..but then we were going to see Golden Compass to but didn't :rolleyes1

Might have to make a library run to see if I can get the 1st National Treasure movie to watch with the girls

Kim & tara--Have you guys had any snow days yet this year?
We have had 1 & a 2 hour delay

Hey Todd! Good to see ya posting again.

Rose Mary, feel better soon.

Elaine, a few year's back, Junior actually stayed in line all night to get the X-Box 360. :lmao:

Todd, I can't believe you've had that much for snow already. We have had a bit of snow, but we're lucky enough to get good road cleaning around here.
I admit I am indifferent to the Golden Compass. I don't care about the "idea" of it, but I heard it isn't a very good movie for a plot. The imagery is apparently beautiful though.

Sherry, did you post about Junior with the xBox? If not I remember someone else talking about a family member standing in line for one all night.

Luis is officially off for the rest of the year. Guess who gets to sleep tonight? :teeth:

Howdy. We had our visit from Santa at scouts tonight. Both boys told him they wanted Nintendo DS's and Kevin sang the "I want a Wii song."

Last night, I had one in my grubby little in box on line, hemmed and hawed and decided not to get it. It was still available an hour later. Then, this morning, I had a change of heart but wasn't quick enough on the draw. Still looking. The reasoning for the change is that it's so expensive that we wouldn't do it for a birthday plus we wouldn't want one boy to think it was just his, KWIM?

It's COLD for us. 39 degrees. Brrrrr. Amazing how acclimated one becomes to the warmer weather.

Elaine, woohoo on the sleep!

Tara, sounds like a great day to me. :rotfl:

Sherry, so, will you get the nephew at all this week? I vaguely remember the story of how you acquired that thing!

Todd, do you have the cooking game? The secretary at the cooking school said her whole family loves that one, along with their bowling. Still haven't seen the first movie here, but want to. Ed and the kids watched it last week and were having a pretty in depth conversation centered around it and I was lost.

Rosemary, sure is chilly right now, huh? I was almost one of those morons out there at 6am, but that was before I knew both boys think Santa will come through on it!

Gotta blog soon, I'm fading fast. I'm 17 days into another 'must blog every day' thing and it's going well. Yay.

Suzanne

Hi everyone - been a crazy few days here - snow - rain - snow - it's so cold - only about 15 degrees.

I worked alot of hours due too the snow - they closed the office early.

Managed to get my grocery shopping done on Thursday before the snow got too bad - it had just started as I was loading my car - by the time I got home there was at least 2 inches of that white stuff on my deck! It took Jeffrey 2.5 hours to get home from work - Highway had alot of abandoned cars due to people running out of gas. Not so sure why the traffic situation got so out of hand - probably because it came down so quickly - in Providence there were elementary kids still stuck on buses at 11pm!! Friday I shoveled and then we went to Jeffreys Christmas party for his part time job - nice buffet and we got a restaurant gift cert from his boss. Saturday was a very busy day - we decided to cut christmas tees with our neighbors so after going out to breakfast we went in search for trees - first stop was sold out - 2nd stop - we drove up a big big hill - got out of the car - walked up another big hill - then trudged in the snow only to find no "residential sized" trees - decided to be adventurous on our way back and stumbled upon a nice christmas tree farm - we got a beautiful tree for $35 - hope we can find the place next year. Baked and cooked Saturday afternoon and we had a christmas party with our neighbors Sat night - Sunday was supposed to be a vacation day for me but one of my staff didn't show on time so I had to work for 2 hours - Alyssa and I had shopping planned but we got snow again Saturday night - sunday night I cooked chicken parm and she helped me trim the tree. *** insert into the mix that I think I damaged a tooth the other day when I fell on the ice - been in quite a bit of pain - trying to ride it out because being part time I have no dental insurance.....today I did some more shopping and organizing of my list - tomorrow I have a training session at 10am - taking Dad to Wally World in the afternoon. Oh yeah - today was supposed to be a vacation day for me but......person covering said they could not work - hopefully I'm off tomorrow night.....

Sorry that this is an all about me post.......I've read all the post - movies - shopping - baking - hot weather - cold weather - decorating - movies - we've got it all don't we!!

Hugs all around gang!!

Morning!

Elaine, yes, I posted about it. Hope you got a good night's sleep.

Suzanne, I don't know if I'll have nephew or not. He now has a fever, so SIL wasn't sure if he'd come today. BIL's last day of work is tomorrow, so I already had Thursday & Friday off.

Paula, sounds like a good weekend. Except for all the snow and the working. Sorry about your tooth. Glad you found your tree.

Morning...

Sherry...sorry about the extra $$ being gone since nephew is sick, but hope you are enjoying the time to yourself before the boys are off school;)

Suzanne...we were in the 20's yesterday, without considering the wind chill. I'll take your 30's. As for the Wii, don't you need a Christmas gift;) The girls were more than happy for Todd to get one for Father's day because it meant they could play with it.:rolleyes1

Paula...isn't it great when others decide not to show:rolleyes: Glad you found a tree. Sorry to hear about the tooth. Todd and I are blessed with double dental insurance. Mine doesn't cover 100%, but covers better on the extras. His covers better on the cleanings.

Elaine...they clear our roads well, but we have a lot of county roads they can't get back to. It doesn't take too much for them to delay school.

Shep...you go to your movie, with the girls, and I'll go see Alvin and the Chipmunks (peacefully) ;)

Tonight I will be wrapping all the gifts I picked up for my Dad to give to the grandchildren....fun fun.:dance3:

Alan...I hope you enjoyed the movie. My DB and SIL went and they loved it.

Kim & tara--Have you guys had any snow days yet this year?
We have had 1 & a 2 hour delay

....nope....we DID have snow and ice, but it was on Friday AFTER we were in school already, so no delayed opening [or early closing]. Our second storm hit late Saturday nite into Sunday morning, so the roads were 'clear' [and I use the term loosely!] for Monday morning.....the way that the weather pattern is forming, I think that we will be using a day or two in January or February....:)

Last night, Ed and Kevin were talking about how I don't play the games. Ed explained to Kevin that the last time he saw me play them was when I got the free Playstation through work and I'd play the Williams Arcade games. I did play the other games for product knowledge for work, but not much. If the thing were mine, though, I could take my system out of the house-or at least threaten to when they're being horrible.

Sherry, bummer on the bucks, but you can get some more prep done for the holiday!

Paula, thankfully, you didn't have one of those horrible commutes.

Suzanne

Paula--Seems this area(Cincinnati)doesn't know how to act when it snows..One time I remember abandoned cars on the expressway, people taking 8-9 hours to get home...I was working 2nd shift and pulled a 'double' that night since 3rd shift didn't make it in and there were 4 or 5 cars sitting in the driving lanes...what a mess...

Suzanne--no cooking game..Still trying to achieve a 300 on Wii Sports Bowling...Bowled 2 279's:headache: Hope to get National Treasure at the library today..If I were to buy a DS Lite I would've got the Zelda DS Lite from Toys R US, they had one with the Zelda sign on it and it came with Phantom Hourglass, Gold DS Lite & case for $149.99, not sure if you can find them still, or the same deal with Nintendogs and it had a paw print on the DS Lite...The Zelda game is one of the top DS games this year and the price of it is around $35..so that would save you about $20 for the bundle

Elaine--Like Amanda once said, with some of the backroads they won't take chances here and they will call the schools off, the day off could've easily been a 2 hour delay too.

Sherry--local radio station is giving away X-boxes, PS3's, games, DVD's, IPODS's, Digital cameras & PSP's...My friend won a XBOX, PSP and some games a year or 2 ago, I won 2 games last year and my friends sister won a digital camera this year. You have to listen for them to call your name and you have 10 minutes and 27 seconds to call in. Not the best radio station but some good prizes and the prizes carry over if someone doesn't call in. We usually tag team & listen for each others names.

Good morning everyone - it's 2 degrees BELOW zero here this morning!!!!!:scared1: :scared1:

I have a training meeting at 10am this morning - this afternon going with Dad to Walmart.
Last night I was going nutty - I always buy Alyssa a game for Christmas - well of course I saw one at the mall a few weeks ago and yesterday they were out......fould it on Amazon last night - I'd rather pay the express shipping then run around searching!!

Chris seemed upset when he got home last night - I've a feeling that he's realizing that he should have taken his classes more seriously. It was good however to have him say "I had a bad day can we talk about it tomorrow?".

Amanda - nice of you to wrap Dad's gifts - do you enjoy wrapping?? I must admit I buy Hallmark paper because it has the "cutting grid" on the back !!

Hi Sherry - enjoy your "days off". :)

Good morning to all - I'll check in later!!

Todd, I bought two My Sims bundles at Costco for 159, then the day before yesterday, I found they had the Zelda bundle for 179. Their bundles have the skins, extra styluses, a hard carrying case the game and the DS Lite. One black, one white. That's why I'm agonizing over buying the Wii.

However, if I score one, I will tuck these away and give each boy one for their birthday.

Paula, if I had adult friends to hang out with, I'd buy that game, too. :rotfl: Somehow, it doesn't seem like the kind of game to give Kevin. She got her Boxers or Briefs, lol!

Suzanne

Suzanne--Zelda bundle $179? Nice of them to raise the price. But it had the soft carrying case.
Have yet to get into the Sims...

Paula--Keep that cold stuff up there...:scared1:

Wow..everyone sneated on me..I must really be a slow typer..:rolleyes1

Todd, a little secret. There are some retailers that will take something as a return/exchange if it's still factory sealed. So I took one of those Sims and exchanged it for the Zelda game. :cool1: I may exchange the other for Pokemon Pearl, but the kid has so much Pokemon stuff already.

The Costco Zelda bundle has more than what I listed, I just couldn't get close enough to inspect with the kids with me. If they saw me looking at systems (see above), then I'd be in BIG trouble.

Suzanne--Last year when I won the games off the radio station I returned them to Wal-mart and they gave me a Wal-mart G.C. :rolleyes1 No receipt but still in the wrap...Will have to say the girls STILL love their Pearl & Diamond games, well at least Mandy and I think she has had hers for 6 months...
That makes sense the bundle at Costco has more stuff, for the price..sounds like a great deal....
Earlier at Radio Shack this year they had the Intec DS Lite bundle case on clearance for $5, down from $30. We got 2. Think it came with hard case, car charger, cases, stylus, screen cleaner, headphones...Mandy loves it. We haven't given Cassie hers yet since she changed her list from a DS Lite to a Portable DVD player....

Also wanted to add that half.com is a best friend of mine, I buy/sell games as they are wanted, or are done with, and buy a lot of the girls games there, been playing the Final Fantasy games and there are set shipping prices unlike ebay..
