Pam, you'd be proud of me. During labor (even though it wasn't too painful for me) I did "smack" Luis and say to him "you did this to me... I hate you"

:lmao: Awwww.... Baby Ya Ya, I am *so* proud of you!:goodvibes :thumbsup2

My Mom drilled in my head that I was not "to carry on and scream" in the delivery room. So........ I didn't. I didn't make a peep, either time. Even with back labor, both times.

With DD I just bit my finger - a lot! The nurse told me to just yell - I said, "I can't. I told my Mom I wouldn't." So she said, "just bite something else." I look around, I'm in a birthing room, there's not a whole lot of options. I spy DH's hand on the edge of the bed, I grabbed it and slowly pulled it up to my mouth. I opened my mouth..... poor DH's eyes just about bug out of his head, but he doesn't dare to try to stop me!:rotfl2: Just as I am about to clamp down, the nurse turns around and yells, "I didn't mean to that you should bite your poor husband! Don't do that! Bite the pillow!" :rotfl:

Reluctantly I let go of DH's hand -- he quickly retreated to the chair several feet away from the bed!:lmao:

LOL, I should say I did do that only as a joke. Luis laughed :teeth:

I will admit I screamed... but with no real pain killers, getting the suction positioned was really rough ;) I was relatively quiet until then and didn't say anything until after he was born.

hey gang,

still here at school finishing some work (shhh...not really...just enjoying complete peace and quiet! not something I will find at home! hehehehe)

I am getting ready to leave in about 5 minutes so I thought I would pop in and say hi!

So I will see you all this evening after the goons go to bed!

tara

Elaine...I don't recall hitting Todd, but I am sure he will tell you there is a lot I don't remember. I have this weird thing that when I need to get through something I totally separate myself from what is happening around me. Body is there but not the mind. Helped when I worked at the hospital.

Tara...glad you enjoyed your quiet time. Cassie went to a friend's for the night and Mandy has a friend staying the night, so no sisterly bickering:cheer2: Although Todd has instructed Mandy that she needs to be 'calm':rolleyes1

Elaine, not sure why we had the outages. :confused3: My house is all electric, so it really sucks when the power goes out. :rolleyes1

Tara, hope you enjoyed your quiet time. I wish I had some. :teeth:

Pam, yes, we're supposed to warm up this weekend. Supposed to hit the 50's.

Amanda, hope Mandy and her friend don't drive you nuts. :teeth:

Todd, why does it not surprise me that you maxed out your Mii's? :lmao: We have free long distance, so if you want, I'll have Junior call you....jlmk when.

Alan, enjoy your weekend.

Rose Mary, heading your way. Hope things improve.

I didn't scream during labor, but I sure did feel like doing it a few times. :lmao: I did squeeze Junior's hand so hard during Julian's labor that I thought I'd break it. :lmao:

:lmao: This was so funny I had to read it to Derek and couldn't finish reading because I was laughing so hard :rotfl2:

No ketchup here other than hugs and love all around. I just got out of a very nice hot bubble bath. I needed it after a very long and stressful day at work. So much so that I brought home work to do this weekend.

y'all behave now, ya hear?

OK - who took my nose and replaced it with a running faucet???? Feeling like 1 or 2 dwarfs - Drippy and/or Sneezy....sheesh. Just took some cold meds - hopefully I'll sleep.

Things went well in the office today - I was present for one of my staff menbers reviews (may go down at the longest time length review in history)....all good -- well with the exception of here not being any time left for my review - but what the heck - it's only been 3 years - a few more days can't matter much.... Also met with my supervisor for the other dept that I will be working in - reviewed my duties - etc - I start next week Mon, Wed and Friday 9-2 for Network Dept (recruiting new vendors, etc) and will supplement that with 2 extra afternoon hours to devote to Offsite staff managerial duties - greatly encouraged about this. I'm looking forward to getting out of the hours - dressing up - and more than likely taking much better care of myself. January will be a little crazy because my offsite schedule is set so I'll be doing double duty but it will be worth it I think.

I think I'm like Amanda - not alot of memories of dealing with the pain of childbirth (not that there wasn't pain I must have blocked it out) - my memories of labor with Alyssa (long ) was at one point looking at jeffrey and seeing tears streaming down his face because he just felt so helpless for me - with Chris I remember the doctor telling me around 8am that I had to deliver before noon because she didn't want to reschedule patients (she was kidding of course) and me replying that she must not be aware of the length of my labor with Alyssa - well.....Christopher Raymond made his appearance at 11:45am!!!

Never did get to the movies with Alyssa - out to lunch tomorrow with my friend/her godmother.

Good wishes to everyone - :wizard: stay warm - or cool - :hippie: whichever applies - for the tears - have a fun weekend all :flower3: !!

Morning...

Sherry...We have free long distance on our cell, but it doesn't get good reception in our basement...it is hit or miss.

Paula...Glad you are able to see the positives in the work changes.

Kristy...sorry you had a stressful day. I have to say a bubble bath sounds nice, it is rainy and still on the chilly side here.

Everyone is still sleeping here. Cassie is on her way home from her friends house. Been nice to have a quiet house.

Good morning! I got the sleep I hadn't Thursday night and then last night's, too.

We're a little bummed here. One of the things Ed looks forward to in January is the Dakar Rally. Due to threats the organizers received from alQaida, the event has been cancelled. In 30 years, they have cancelled stages of this huge race, but never the whole event. It makes me sad that the terrorists have won.

Elaine, you reminded me of Bill Cosby "My wife stood up in the stirrups, pulled my lip OVER my head and said GIVE ME MORPHINE!" :rotfl2: How is Dom doing now? Any help on the pain front?

Pam, too funny that your husband moved FAR away! :teeth:

Planned C with Kevin, so no issues there and with Neil, it was 4 hours of back labor with no meds and no progress-he ended up being a C as well.

Amanda, enjoy the quiet. You're lucky you can block that out!

Sherry, eek, it's too cold for that! Brrrr! Don't you have a wood stove or fireplace? If so, thank God you do when the power goes.

Tara, hope heading into the war zone wasn't too bad!

Paula, it's cool that you'll split roles. This way, both departments will benefit from your expertise. :thumbsup2

Todd, good luck on the air fare. You can max out the Miis? How many do you have?

Kristy, now you've got to bring work home?

Guess I should start getting ready for work. I've been talking mexican food with friends over the past few days and now I want some-I'm going to get some before going into work.

Suzanne

Afternoon.

I finally broke down and took some cold meds that Junior got from medical at work. I can barely breathe, so I hope they kick in soon. :rolleyes1

Got a call this morning that my cousin had a small stroke. :( He's in ICU and probably will be for a couple days.

Amanda, enjoy the quiet. I have some right now.....Junior and the boys all went for haircuts. :teeth: We have free LD on our house phone and our cells.

Suzanne, we HAD a fireplace, but no more. We never used it anyway. :rolleyes1 Loved that Bill Cosby bit. :lmao:

Kristy, sorry you had to bring work home.

Paula, good luck with the job stuff.

Just staying home today. Don't feel like doing much.

Hi y'all.. just hanging out today

Sherry, so sorry about your cousin  I'll keep him in my prayers. Our house is mostly electric as well. The only exception is hot water, so at least when we lose power we keep that.

Paula, glad ot hear that things are going well at work. I will keep my fingers crossed that this change will be exactly what you are looking for

Suzanne, he's okay. We still can't get rid of all his gas issues which brings colicky nature, but that I know will improve with time. That is a bummer about the race.

Amanda, I wish I had the talent to separate myself like that from situations. I am always so personalized in everything like that. Hard to let go of things when I work that way.

Quietly saying hi to Tara ;)

Kristy, the bath sounds lovely! I know how nice it is to relax after a stressful day.

Hey gang!

Just being very lazy today. I've been yelling at the kids and cross stitching all day! They felt the need to argue and fuss unless I am constantly entertaining them!! And today I was not going to be their only companion! I had work to do!! hehehe

But it is now a little after 9 and they are both tucked tightly into bed and are down for the night!!! thank goodness!

Glad everyone has had a good day! sorry for the sniffles!! Ethan has some sniffles so I told him he could pick which "hi-ho" he wanted to be sniffy, drippy, or snotty (thank you Paula!). He said he didn't want to be a Hi-Ho!! hehehehe

Hope Mr. Dom isn't too gassy! Mom reminded me of how irritable Ethan was until we put him on the Zantac. Once he went on that he quit crying so much!! He still shows signs of reflux occassionally, but most of the time he is fine.

Suzanne did you not sleep because your legs are bothering you again? Is work killing you again?

Now we are watching Anthony Bourdain's No reservations. He is funny as heck!!

Okay, I can't think of anything witty or interesting so I guess I'll go and come back when I can think of something good to say!!

later gators!!

tara

good morning!

nothing like being awakend by two little hellions screaming in your bed!! Then having the 3 year old jumping up and down screaming at the top of his lungs!! oy vey this kid is developing a serious tantruming problem! I'm ready to send him to juvie until gets over it! LOL!

Hope everyone has a good sunday!

tara

Morning all!

Thanks Tara for the idea about Zantac. I will speak to a doctor about it. We knew he dealt with reflux from day one. Sorry you were woken up by your guys though.

Morning! Doing a few chores before I get ready for Church!

My two head back to college today.:sad1: I'll miss them - but not the extra cooking, dishes and laundry!:lmao:

Have to get the tree taken down as well.

Hope everyone is feeling better!

Morning.

Stayed home from church today. Julian is home too. He started throwing up last night. :( And I still feel awful. This stupid cold has zapped all my energy. :rolleyes1

Tara, sorry your guys woke ya up.

Pam, safe travels to your kids. Have fun taking down the tree.

Elaine, sounds like alot of us just hung out yesterday. :teeth: Hope Dom isn't as fussy lately.

afternoon all....

I worked at least 5 hours yesterday and didn't get a chance to pop in here. I've worked a couple of hours this morning but I'm trying to put it all away until tomorrow morning :)

Sherry  sorry your cold won't go away. Prayers for your cousin and hope that Julian starts to feel better.

Suzanne bummer that the rally has to be changed b/c of threats :(

Elaine I hope Dom is feeling better today.

Tara I think now is a good time for you to take the cattle prod lesson ;) j/k sorry the boys were screaming this morning

Pam :( sorry the kids have to leave ya today. I'm sure they're going to miss your cooking.

Paula sorry you weren't able to get your review done.

We managed to put away the rest of our Christmas decorations this afternoon. Now I need to get laundry done but really don't feel like it.

Hey gang,

Took the boys to the park today with some friends and had fun. Had a scary time but otherwise we had a good time.

Now I need to cut the boys' hair and put them in the bath tub! They look and smell like boys!! LOL!

I'm sitting here now waiting to get the energy to get the kids taken care and drinking a nice kaluah and milk!! I think I'll just skip the bath and hair cuts and drink the evening away!! hehehe

Anyway, i'll be back later!

tara

Tara...after your day at the park I'm surprised you haven't already had that drink. I am glad you found the boys safe and sound. I know that feeling that sets in and it is not a good feeling.

Kristy...Yah on getting the decorations down, boo on working.

Sherry...Hopefully you both will feel better soon, if not already.

Pam...Enjoy the quiet house, although I go nuts after 1hr of the house being quiet if the girls are gone.

Went to church, lunch with friends, cemetary to get wreath off Mom's grave, Wally World....thought I was in for the night then Cassie's friend asked if she can go skating. Of course Mandy wants to go and I don't want this mom to deal with 2-bickering sisters...so finally at 6:30pm I am in for the night. Luckily I will get to sleep till 5am tomorrow instead of 4am, have an all day meeting that doesn't start till 8 and have to work till 5:( I am so going to miss getting off work at 2:30 tomorrow.

Have a terrific evening everyone!

woohoo!!! Got a couple of kaluha and milks in me!! hehehe

Feeling very relaxed now!!

Kids are bathed and in bed (no hair cuts...maybe later in the week!)

I'll try to come back later!!
