Been a long weekend here... Dom apparently seems colicky... so hi and bye to y'all :)

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a very Happy New Years......:woohoo:

Just been vegging at home since coming home from church. We did stop at BJ's and at the grocery store. Ate lunch at Wendy's and ordered pizza for dinner. Watched the Browns game  and now hoping that TN loses so we can go to the playoffs.

Hi Betty! Happy New Year to you, too.

Elaine, sorry Dom is colicky. Jordan was, too, and it was sooo frustrating. :(

Tara, didja end up seeing the lights? Yay on fixing the electrical problem.

Kristy, nothing beats sitting in your jammies all day. :teeth:

Hi gang,

Elaine....I'm sorry Dom is colicky. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Sherry...yes I made it to the lights. There were good, but there were quite a few that weren't working. Then we drove around looking at people's houses that were decorated. We found some really pretty ones. It was nice.

Kristy...i didn't want to get dressed today either. but in order to go look at lights we had to get dressed. So I just changed sweatpants and t-shirts! lOL!

Ya'll have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow!

tara

Elaine I hope Dom feels better tomorrow.

Sherry glad you had a good afternoon.

Tara LOL I like your choice in dressing ;)

I seriously did not get out of my pj's today. We did however take the Christmas tree down, put away the village and packed other Christmas items.

If I don't see you all tomorrow have a wonderful New Year's Eve and I'll see you in 2008!! :teeth:

 Pg 3. Am I the only one awake this a.m. :sad1:
Helllllloooooo out there! :upsidedow

Good morning,

i"m here. I've been cleaning my room! My room doubles as a storage room and I HAD to find my floor today!! It was driving me nuts!!

Happy New Year's Eve all!!

I'll pop in today!!

tara

Good morning! Not sure what we're doing today, but we're going to get out of the house. I've been reading, but the DIS has been horrible for posting on any thread longer than a page or two-what's up with that server switch? I thought it was going to help!

Elaine, bummer on the coliky. I remember those days, and don't blame you one bit for seeking some help.

Rosemary, some of us had the day off! I work tomorrow, though.

Tara, good look with your excavation efforts! :lmao: Did you get pictures of the lights?

Kristy, aren't jammy days great? A plus to barely getting the tree up is that we have less to take down.

Sherry, woohoo on the day off from cooking!

Bethie, howdy woman! When am I going to meet up with you at WDW next?

Amanda, has the house recovered from having a friend over?

Pam, how cool that your son has a handmade rifle!

Okay, gotta figure out what we're doing today...probably be back later. If not, happy New Year!

Suzanne

I guess my last post never made it :confused3

so I'll just say please understand if I am a bit MIA because of Dom. Of course if you have any suggestions, I'll be willing to try anything with him.

I hope this one goes through

Elaine...sorry Dom is colicky. I was fortunate to miss that experience. I will say that Cassie was hyper sensitive to people's moods and I had to make sure I never picked her up if I was edgy or she would start crying. It took her and Todd a couple years to get along;) I know my friend would put her babies (she had twins) on the washer in their carrier and run the spin cycle when they had colic.

RM...I was awake just busy taking a 4 mile walk, grocery shopping and taking the girls to Wendy's. Mandy's frosty coupon was burning a hole in her pocket.

Tara...Tomorrow is my cleaning day:headache:

Off to Dad's then to church for the NYE celebration.

Have a terrific end to the year.

hi gang,

well, i feel bad....I got my christmas cards out, but today I got two returned. So I need Beth and Suzanne to send me updated addresses!! hehehe it's been so long since I sent out christmas cards that I have all old addresses!! hehehe

went to kmart to get Jarrod's new rx and found another yard decoration on sale. I only bought one thing. I was good!!

getting ready for dinner. showered, shaved, and smelling purty!! Just to go out to dinner and come right home!! hehehe oh well

Elaine...I'm sorry you are having trouble with Dom. I don't have anything but  to offer. Did you see the thing about the blanket under his tummy? That's all mom had.

I've discovered word whomp on pogo.com. That's lots of fun! more trouble for me!! hehehe

back later,
tara

Sorry that I've been MIA - busy with work and family stuff.

Christopher turned 19 on Saturday - we had a small dinner and cake for him at our neighbors last night - he brought his girlfriend and 2 other friends - it was nice.

Today - grocery shopping- working tonite and tomorrow am - neighbors are here - cooking lobsters!!

Happy New Year to all of my YaYa friends!!

Paula, you're not on AIM-my Yahoo still doesn't show up.

We rented some games from Blockbuster and I grabbed a used copy of Twilight Princess cheap. My Zelda freak is VERY happy. We are here cracking up at the antics. He's using a chicken on his head to fly, throwing pumpkins and just generally goofing off. Eventually, I think we'll have family bowling or tennis.

Oh, we rented Ninjabread man. What little I saw looked fun. I was busy making the crab dip. Decided to have the gingersnap/bourbon crusted spiral ham tomorrow, tonight is all about the appetizers and strong drinks.

Happy New Year to all of you. May 2008 bring health and happiness to all!

Suzanne

Tara, saw that about the towel... didn't work. However we realized today that he was constipated by infant terms. We're back to the original formula (only reason why we switched was to save money) that he was on, so we hope that will get rid of it. If not, we'll be giving him extra water only during the day. I watered down his formula for one feeding as well before I was able to get him new stuff. So we'll see if that helps get rid of some of the troubles. If he is constipated, that would make sense as to why some of the tricks for colic wouldn't work (pressure on his stomach would feel worse, not better) We also found gripe water to help with his hiccups. He's so much fun to figure out ;)

Oh Tara, let me know if you need addresses. Mine are updated :)

Amanda, I think Dom is a bit sensitive to that as well. When my mood is calm his is better.

Paula, Happy Birthday to Chris!

I better go wash bottles.

Happy New Year and many blessings in 2008 for all!

Elaine...Cassie had constipation. I think it was apple sauce we mixed in her formula. We had to cut the whole a little bigger for it to get through and watch to make sure it didn't go into her too fast. Good luck working through this.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

welcome to 2008
mom and i played scrabble...we each won one!!

Elaine...sorry the towel didn't work. My mom had to put dark caro syrup in my bottles. she said she would start with a tablespoon in the bottle and then increase to an ounce for every 6 oz of formula. she had to do this to me until i was two (with whole milk too). good luck!! Oh yeah...I guess I need an updated list! thanks,

Suzanne...apps and strong drinks sound good!!

Happy Birthday to Chris!

I'm off! I'll see you more in the new year!

tara

Morning...it is cold here. Not sure I will get my walk in today but I think I have enough cleaning planned that I will get my exercise.

Started on Cassie closet:rolleyes: She has enough pants that she won't need to do laundry for 3 wks:eek: Of course I have a pile ready for donation that she is going through now and she has decided to keep more pants:sad2: They are on the borderline of being too small.

I think Todd is taking them to the movies to see National Treasure. I may go and see PS I Love You.

Tara...yah on both winning at scrabble. Todd beats me at any word games, but I usually get him in Yahtzee.

Well off to see how much Cassie is keeping:scared1:

Happy New Year, everyone!! Put in 4 1/2 hours at the part-time job yesterday, gave the boss a ride home, dashed to McD's for some dinner, spent 15 minutes with my hunny, eating, then dashed back to the boss's house to babysit for New Year's Eve! Little Sammy had taken a VERY long nap yesterday afternoon, so he saw the New Year in with me, then finally crashed on the sofa. We had a blast together and I got a good "grandma fix"!! I didn't want to get paid, but they gave me a $50 Borders gift card anyway. I sense some cozy "curl up in the quilt and read" days in my future!

Glad to hear of all the fun New Year's eves. I love both Scrabble and Yahtzee, but Dave's just not a game person unless it's a one-person computer game. I DID get him hooked on one of my find-the-hidden-picture games. I miss the nights I used to stay up until the wee hours of the morning with my Dad playing cribbage, though. When he died, one of the things I got was the cribbage board and the cards--such fond memories every time I see them.

So what New Year's traditions do ya'll have? Boss's wife was soaking black-eyed peas last night cuz she had been told that's a good luck tradition in this area of the country. My family never had any special ones, but as a young adult in Cleveland, I learned about pork and sauerkraut with (or without) potato dumplings being the good luck meal for New Year's day. So now I'm wondering what other traditions are followed.

Suzanne, I'm on my way--that gingerbread/bourbon crusted ham sounds positively scrumptious!!! Can I bring a side dish?? :teeth: Oh, and we're going to blast down to OKW the last weekend in January, but have no plans for the parks except MAYBE doing the Pirate/Princess party on Sat. nite. We feel the need for a de-stressing weekend and thought we'd just chill at the resort, maybe wander around Downtown Disney and some of the other resorts. Would love to meet up with ya someplace, though!! (we also have plans for the first week of June and the first week of December, if you want to mark your calendar. We're bringing friends each time, but I always say "The more, the merrier!" so maybe we can get together then, too)

Amanda, when you're finished with Cassie's closet, I could use some help with mine. I have piles and piles beneath all the hanging stuff of clothing I either don't like or don't fit. REALLY need to get that stuff moved out and passed on to someone who can use it!

Laine, hope things settle down soon for you with Dom. My DD was kinda colicky and what worked for her was to lie on her tummy along my forearm with her legs on either side of my elbow. Then I had to walk....and walk and walk and walk and walk. Thought I was gonna wear a trail in my living room rug cuz we were in Ketchikan, Alaska at the time and it was always too rainy to go out! I know it seems like it's taking forever, but like Mom always said, "This, too, shall pass"

Tara, I assume you didn't snag the return address label off the envelope of any of the cards I've sent you? I'll PM you--this is only our 3rd Christmas in this place!! ;) I used to play on pogo.com all the time and Word Whomp was one of my favorites, too. I used to play it so much I would actually play in my dreams!! Wake up spelling tea, eat, ate, era, are, ear.....etc!!!

Busy time of the year, Paula, and you had a birthday in there too! No wonder we haven't seen much of you the last week or so. Hope all is well on both the work and the family front. Have you already started working in the office? How's that going? Can you save a couple of lobster claws for me? YUM!!!

So, Kristy, has Tink been restored to her former glory and looks brand-spankin' new, again? How many Webkinz did you get for Christmas? LOL!! I finally saw them in person at a local Hallmark. They must've gotten a recent shipment cuz they had just about every "model" imaginable! I have 10 of the virtual critters, but the friend who gave them to me has only given me the codes. I had never actually seen them for real. My goodness but they are soooooo cute!!! Now I want one of the new frogs and a unicorn and a piggie and......oh well, you get the idea.

Helloooooo out there in Sherry-land!! How's things going with you and your brood?! Bet ya'll had a wonderful night last night! Sometimes I really miss having family around to "play" with!!

Sorry you seemed all alone here yesterday, Rose Mary! Did you hafto work yesterday? How about that new position you're working--things going better now? Hope we can see more of you in 2008!

Well, the day is 1/2 gone and Dave is already asking about plans for dinner. Hate when I sleep so late, but I would have been a real grouch if I hadn't! I am trying sooooo hard not to turn into that "cranky old lady", but I see her in myself, especially when I don't get enough sleep. Anyhoo, better go see where and when he wants to go eat so he can decide if he wants to eat lunch or not!! :confused3

Later, gators!! Mad, mad love all around!! :grouphug:
