Morning!

Never even made it on the computer yesterday. Watched a movie, then after dinner BIL's & SIL's came over and we played Wii and watched a movie. Two of the boys went with BIL & SIL to spend the night.

Paula, love the nativity. Sounds like a fun night at your house. We have a few of the Scene-It games and they are so much fun. And, I'm not Liz, but we saw Little Miss Sunshine last week and I really liked it. Talk about a dysfunctional family! :scared1

Beth, the two older boys are pretty good about saving there $ when there is something they really want. Now Julian, he will buy anything, just to buy it. But, he's 10, so I guess that is why. :sad2: :)

Amanda, hope that headache went away fast. I'd like flannel sheets, but Junior, who is always hot, would hate them. :rolleyes1

Elaine, if you do get a DS, get Animal Crossing. That is so much fun. :yay:

Pam, glad DS liked his lamp. You gotta take a pic of it. ::yes::

Tara, yay for the good deals. Hope the lips are better today.

Alan, you could handle the Wii. It has motion sensors so the remote is really easy.

Rose Mary, hope today is a better day for you.

Liz, enjoy all those movies. We did the free trial for Netflix and liked it. We get most of our movies at the library, though. :thumbsup2

Today is my day for :laundy: We were supposed to do a movie, but with 2 of the boys gone, not sure if we will. Might have to go tomorrow.

Hi Sherry!

Have lots of photos of the lamp, the crate my Dad built and DS being lured by the "soft glow of electric sex"!!:lmao:

I just need to open up a photobucket account so I can post them!

DD spends her money as soon as possible, just like your Julian! DS has a wad of cash from last Christmas!

Hey Alan! I bought DS's lamp from the Red Ryder Leg Lamp website back in October. They hiked the price up by about $30 right after I bought mine -- but they were still cheaper than the other places. (I got DS the 53" model, the biggest lamp out there!) It is really nice! Huge -- but nice!

And *lol* I don't think anyone could ever catch up with mothy Lainey!!:rotfl:  you, Lainey!:goodvibes

I forgot to post about this little adventure earlier this morning:

Mickey (cat #2) awakened us about 11:30 last night with his usual "Sleep safe folks, I'm in night patrol" mode.

Well okay, apparently a noise awakened Mrs. AA and her consistant harrassment woke up her peacefully snoozing and oh-so-patient husband.

She went to check on the crash she heard and complained that the girls must have left a glass on their table since there was water on the floor. She then graciously invited me to leave my warm bed, get a towel and come check with her.

Now, I know I was still sleepy and I did not have my glasses on, but even in that state, I was aware of the gap on the fireplace mantle.

I'm almost certain that something used to sit there......oh yeah, that's where the fishbowl sits.

So why isn't there broken glass on the floor?

Of course, there is a box filled with books from my happy childhood that I brought home from my parent's house over thanksgiving. Could the fishbowl have landed in the adjacent basket filled with nice cushy, water absorbing towels? Noooooooo.

Gravity sucks.

So I find that most of the water has sloshed out into the floor, the books, assorted Christmas toys but there is enough remaining to have sustained Salty's habitat and he is fine.

Well, he may need some intensive therapy sessions but that will have to wait.

They say there is more than one way to skin a cat and I had about three of them in mind as I saw Mickey in the room, but Mrs. AA stopped me before I could test any of them.

So we spent some lovely bonding time cleaning the room and setting things as straight as we could before closing off the room.

Small pellets of fish food were also scattered about and covering everything, which I thought added just the perfect touch to Mickey's redecorating ideas.

Rebecca called her mother to say that Salty would be moving in with grandma today and asking if she could take her to We-B-Toys this morning to replace the now non-functioning high chair puchased to use with the Baby Alive Doll. (There was a tray that played music and lit up, etc)

I removed the batteries, dried it out, left it overnight in our bathroom and reassembled this morning - it worked fine. So, maybe I redeemed myself somewhat from my less than gentlemanly mood and comments last night.

In any event, I am now safely protected in my wee office at work while she sorts out those details.

*********************************

Update..it turns out the tray for high chair was ruined after all, and she has replaced it today.

Poor Salty!! Glad everyone survived...and hey isn't a little therapy something we could all use??? hehehehe

Woke up this morning to gigantic lips again today. :( I had to go to the lawyers office to sign the HE papers today. (So my DVC will be paid off on Jan. 4 and then they will do the closing stuff!! woohoo!! Then I will make our plans for our first visit HOME!! woohoo!!! I've decided that my family (as in me and my boys) tradition is to do Thanksgiving at WDW and to heck with the rest of the gang...they make me nervous anyway!!)

Sorry...I got sidetracked...I made a sticker for myself this morning that said "It's an Allergy NOT Botox gone awry!!" That way anyone that looked at me funny would see the sticker and understand that I didn't just get a bad botox treatment! :lmao:

I went to the pharmacy today to get my script (forgot it yesterday! duh!) and I was asking the pharmacist if the Zyertec was better than claritain...because I didn't really want to spend $50 if it wasn't necessary. Anyway, I explained what was wrong and he laughed and said I thought you had botox (the sticker was gone by then). :LMAO: hehehehe

We are going to try and see more lights tonight because I'll be gone all day tomorrow! woohoo!!

i'll be back later!

Liz - did you like Little Miss Sunshine? We do Netflix and Alyssa returned it before I even watched it...

We HATED this movie! But many people thought it was hilarious. Not one of my favorites for sure.

Actually, it has taken most of a year for us to allow her to have free reign of the house, which was not true with her other past dogs.

Apparently this breed matures much more slowly, and she has chewed and devoured several objects in the house.

Alan, don't ya just love the chewing stage! I about died when someone reminded me it lasts about 2 years:headache:

In any event, I am now safely protected in my wee office at work while she sorts out those details.

Whoops! Sorry to hear about that...poor Salty! Hope Mickey faress well too!

Sorry to laugh at your misery! If it makes you feel any better...I once, nope three times had hives for well over three weeks. And they were the big nasty, WAY itchy hives. Not fun at all!!! Feel better soon!

 <-------that is for you Pammy.....just cuz! Sounds like Christmas went off without a hitch at your house! Whoo hoo!

I think we need to get a Wii....sounds like they are LOTS of fun huh, Sherry?

OK, off to deal with the terror....I mean terrier! He is being such a pill today. I may make a sign too...Puppy free to a good home :lmao:

Off to try and get more :laundy: done!

Oh somebody take pity on me and entertain me......:bored: :worship: :worship: :worship:
Come on over Pam...we are doing STOOPID puppy tricks here today...but at times they are amusing...Chip knocked over a decorative (metal of some sort) olate that is about 4 times his size. The crash scared the crap out of me at first, ( I had no idea what he did...I was doing :laundy: in another room) but when I figured it out, it was quite funny. Funnier yet, he will not even walk remotely close to the scene of the crime :lmao:

Then we are running the dishwasher and washer and dryer....soembody does NOT like all these strange noises!

Bunches of fun here today!!

Come join us!!

Of course if you would rather wait until tomorrow...that is the second round of puppy shots......

Bring your wallet...you can buy lunch:lmao:

He usually naps after the shots though:dance3:

I loved "Little Miss Sunshine". We giggled through the whole thing. I thought that guy from the Office was hysterical!! That's only movie I've seen in a theater in almost 3 years!!

And feel free to laugh at me!! I've been doing it all day!!

Are you asking me to dance for you Pam?

Instead I'll make Tara feel better with this college flashback:

3 of us went to another student's home in NC during a Labor Day weekend and went river rafting.

At the end of the trip, I was drinking a canned coke and failed to look down before taking a sip.

A yellow jacket was also enjoying the sugary sweet beverage and did not appreciate being disturbed.

I was stung and felt like Mick Jaggar as my top lip swelled to the point where my bottom lip was no longer visible.

And for even more fun, we had plans to visit his church the next day so it was a day of first impressions.

The swelling went down, but only for 1/4 of the lip. I don't mean the entire lip was reduced by 1/4 swelling. I mean that one corner and a small extension were normal and the rest was swollen.

Ah..good times

OUCH!!! That had to hurt.

Well, as I posted on my other thread...it is down to just the top lip in the middle that is still blown up. But they are also starting to itch again...not a good sign. This is driving me nuttier than before!!

Oh, before I go to therapy..i'll give you all a laugh...

I wrote an IEP last week that had a Present Level of Performance (PLOP) page that I was extremely proud of (this is a narrative that defines a student's progress/weaknesses in 7 core areas. It is basically the "heart" of the IEP so it is very important) Anway, I did this one on a child who is extremely emotionally distrubed and we may be looking at changing his placement in the near future. So i wanted to make sure I had as much evidence as possible. I worked on this thing for two days. This is done in a program on the web. It saves itself so i didn't save an additonal copy for my own records...cuz it is there anytime I needed it.

So I let my AP know it was ready for her to check (a second set of eyes is always good). She emailed me yesterday that I needed to call her immediately. I call her and her first words are "I am not looking forward to this conversation." UH OH! I thought I was fired...turns out she thought my PLOP was so good that she was going to copy it and paste it into a word file and then change the names so she could use it for training purposes. Well, she had just done this with another IEP and so she highlighted the PLOP and instead of hitting "copy" she hit "paste". My PLOP was replaced with someone elses PLOP and all my hard work gone.

Normally I would have been really tickd but she was so upset about it I couldn't get upset about it. I think she was in tears telling me about it. I told her that I would forgive her but she would owe me BIG time!! heheheh We did find one copy I had printed for someone else of the unedited version, so my AP will type all of that in and then I can go back and tweak it again!! hehehehe

Now if she could get rid of my useless assistant I'd really be a happy camper!!

off to counseling...back later!

No time to play you chatty people

I hope the Zyrtec works for you Tara. I know Claritin hardly works for some, but Benadryl is my fave. Sadly puts many to sleep.

Pammy, wish I could entertain you, but since Alan is going to dance... not needed I guess.

Going out to dinner with my dad. My sister invited only part of the family out so the rest of us are making do w/o them ;)

:wave2:

Took the tree and decorations down today. So nice to have my living room back to normal again. Went to see Night At The Museum. Very funny and very good. Great family movie! Afterwards we picked up some pizza.

Kimmar, your cracking me up!

Alan, sorry to hear about Salty. Had to :lmao: at the Mick Jagger lips.

Tara, :lmao: at the sticker!!

Liz, I can't believe you didn't like Little Miss Sunshine. We need to have a Wii party at my house. Wii Sports is sooooo much fun!!

Elaine, enjoy your dinner out.

Morning all! Today is a day for me to catch up on work at home and run errands. Remind me that I need soap, Mardi Gras masks and kitty litter :p I also will be making flan today and maybe start making up some chocolate chip cookies.

I don't bake for Christmas but I sure do for NYE ;)

Pity that you lost your plop... okay I had to say it too!

Thanks for all the smiles/laughs y'all!

Oh I found out that my friend had her baby early. She had severe toxemia and was forced to deliver a month early. Fortunately other than being jaundiced, the baby is fine :) She came home just in time for Christmas

I should probably get moving on the laundry I need to fold... have a great day everyone!
