Paula, hang in there. I wish I could come give you some hugs and help out. I second the presents going back and the grounding.

We got a present in the mail today-Neil has been accepted into Medicaid. What a huge relief. Although we'd been prepared that they never take Aspies on the first application. Makes me a little sad to know that all the documentation tells them that the child really is impaired. That said, feel better to know that he'll be taken care of no matter what.

We're back!

Merry Christmas, everyone. Dinner is cooking and I think cookies are on the agenda-Kevin has decided that Santa gets an assortment. All because he asked me which ones were Santa's favorites and I told him that it seems to have changed. I theorized that Santa was a cookie connosieur, so my young chef wants to give him a variety! :rotfl2:

Paula, please tell us that everything is okay

Merry Christsmas Ya Yas!

Glad to be back.

Alan, I am intrigued by the family Comunion. Also sounds like a fine week of socializing you've got.

Paula, glad it turned out ok. It is difficult when the young ones try to assert their perceived idea of being an adult. Good luck there.

Tina, Thank you for your recipe! I can't wait to try it, however with all the bakery/cookies going on here I just know it will be a while.

Suzanne, congrats on qualifying for Medicaid. That is a load off one's mined.

Merry Christmas Suzanne!! And Elaine and Lily!!!:santa:

We just got back from Church.

Paula, I, too have been so worried over the past couple of days. How are things? Did Chris come home? If I had had your phone number, I would have called!!

Hey Pam, I meant to say send your menfolk here to hunt. We had 7 doe cross the street then "frolic" in our backyard this afternoon. I love to see them, but feel so bad that they are foraging for food here that is not existant to support the herd.

:thumbsup2 They'll be right over.;)

I know what you mean about the deer having to look for food. All of the house construction and more and more of the wooded areas being converted in housing developments has hurt the wild animal population. My guys are truly outdoorsmen, not sport hunters and they eat EVERYTHING that they shoot.

What happens if they accidentally shoot a friend? :p

Munching on ice cream before heading to church again. It's not even 10PM yet and we still have two more services to do in the next 12 hours... I'm already pooped

that's only if you are the vice president that you need to worry about that!!

 The one night of the year that the kids don't complain about bedtime

Off to get the presents wrapped and under the tree-Merry Christmas, everyone. Thanks for being my family on the 'net.

Merry Christmas my friends!!

Nothing but smiles and happiness today - (translate that as I'll tell you all the details of the last few days tomorrow). I'm up and working - what else is new? It amazes me the number of stores that are broken in to at this time of year. Yesterday was extremely busy - I worked 7am - 2:30pm - baked for the rest of the day - Jeffrey got home from work early - he made us baked stuffed haddock for dinner.

Alyssa's boyfriend installed the new stereo in my/Alyssa/our Escape - it's an Alpine with CD and can play MP3's - it's awesome!!

Baked Choc chunk, white choc swirled chip and peanut butter with hershey kisses cookies yesterday and 2 batches of fudge. Today's menu is baked ham, twice baked potato casserole, brussel sprouts and green beans with almonds. My dad and his "lady" are coming for lunch - we will go to my in-laws later.

Did I mention that there are ALOT of presents under the tree....!!! Wonder how late my sleeping beauties will slumber....just me and Harley are up - hehe.

I'm working till 11am - so I'll be around - I hope everyone has a wonderful day - I can't tell you how much you all mean to me!!

Boards are acting a bit buggy for me today,b ut glad they are back. I'm tired as all get out and drinking tea to help wake me up

we have to go to my dad's for cinnamon rolls soon!

Tara :rotfl: Nice answer!!!

Mad love to you all!!!! Enjoy the day everyone!

Forgot to mention that we did our traditional Christmas ornament giving last night.

I got one with a gray kitten tipping over a bowl that says treats on it.
Alyssa got a blown glass hedgehog
Chris got a lump of coal that says "Naughty but very good at at " (Alyssa picked that out)
Jeffrey got a steer head with a christmas wreath on it (yeah - it's the whole hunting thing....haha).

I didn't give one to Alyssa's BF - he'll have to wait till next year. But I did give him his gift last night - we gave him a Fossil wallet - DD gift card and a $50 Best Buy card.

:surfweb: I'm bored - gonna have to start waking people up soon!!

Suzanne - so glad to hear that Medicaid accepted Neil - what a huge relief for you!! Please let us know what cookies you made.

Elaine - cinnamon rolls - yum!! Enjoy your day.

Pam - sounds like my hubby and your guys would get along just great - !!

Tara - did you finish the stocking??

Christmas Wishes to Sherry, Lily, Todd and Amanda, Alan and family, Liz, John and all!!

Merry Christmas gang!!

It's been a good morning here. Jarrod was upset that he didn't get the drum set he asked Santa for (he just asked him for it on friday night!) I told him that mommy had spoken to Santa and told Santa that we didn't want a drum set in the house b/c it would make mommy mean!!

Now getting ready to clean up and do the house cleaning for Beth, Chris, and ella..they are coming over for dinner tonight!!

I'll be back later!

Morning, everyone!

Christmas is a time of miracles-Neil did NOT sleep, and yet he was extrodinarily patient and only woke me twice to get up for present opening. He really was up from 4am and waited until 9. Unheard of-I suggested he put in a movie or watch TV, but since I was here sleeping on the couch (leg issues), he decided he wouldn't.

Santa left the boys a letter telling them that Daddy is building their computer for them. That made them very happy! Parts will arrive on Thursday, they'll have a working machine by Saturday at the latest.

Off to the inlaws later-gonna try to get a nap in here somewhere!

Suzanne

Quick pop in... ate the cinnamon rolls, sang at churhc, now off to cook :wave2:

Merry Christmas :)

Sitting down for a brief rest. Ethan is napping, mom is resting (both have the first day of a cold  of all days to be sick.), and Jarrod is playing quietly in front of the tv (thank goodness for the extra ritalin!!)

I forgot to answer Paula...nope didn't finish the stocking. I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow and it will be ready to be packed up for next year. I don't hink he noticed his was a generic stocking with no name on it!! hehehehe

The boys looked very cute in their matching jammies and I think we got some good video. We got all video instead of pics this year. I have a few pics but I think the squealing on the video will be really cute.

Anyway, off to finish cleaning before I fall asleep. I didn't go to bed until after 2 and I'm feeling it while I sit here!!
see ya'll later!

Merry Christmas, everyone!! No snow, but we have plenty of rain for our Christmas here in Northern Virginia. Rang bells and sang at 3 church services last night (7, 9 and 11) and by the 3rd service, I almost had the sermon memorized. Still, I love the Christmas services with the candles being lit as we sing Silent Night and they turn off all the lights. It's just so neat seeing the flame being passed from person to person until everyone's candle is lit and the entire sanctuary is aglow--it's very moving and gets me choked up every time.

It was almost 1 AM by the time we got home, so we opened the huge box that had arrived from Dave's DS and DIL (with the Disney Shopping label on it!!) They sent each of us really neat Disney stocking holders. Dave's is Goofy and mine is Minnie--both are decorating matching Christmas trees and they are just beautiful! Also, there was an absolutely gorgeous new tree skirt with Minnie kissing Mickey in his Santa suit, holding his bag of gifts. That part is beautifully appliqued and then there is gold embroidery all around the edge of snowflakes, swirls and Mickey icons. Santa left a gift for Dave, too--a big Darth Tater, complete with an R2D2 tater and a "Spudtrooper" wielding a laser masher instead of a light saber!! Since we are saving up for a trip to NYC to see Mary Poppins, we had decided that we would not bother to exchange gifts this year. Of course, that was decided AFTER Darth Tater was already secreted in the office at my store.

Whoo-hoo, Suzanne, on your Christmas miracle!! That was so very sweet of Neil to let you rest undisturbed for so long. Sure hope that leg feels better soon. Is the surgery in Hawaii still in the works? Congrats, too, on the Medicaid approval!! What a load off your mind that must be.

Sorry to hear the cold germies have invaded your house, Tara. Hope Mama Bev and Ethan are able to kick them quickly. Smart mommy to speak to Santa about the drum set!! :rotfl: Don't feel bad about not finishing E's stocking--I still haven't finished a bell pull I was cross stitching for my DSis' wedding gift. She now has 5 kids and the eldest started college this fall. I honestly don't even know where the thing is, I haven't worked on it in so long!

Hey, Laine! Any of those cinnamon rolls left?! A big gooey cinnamon roll would be quite tasty with my coffee here. You have certainly been the busy gal helping out at your dad's and at church in addition to getting your own place ready for the holiday. Enjoy the day, now.

You had to work this morning, Paula??!! And break-ins on Christmas day--good grief!! Are you a "monitoring station" for a security alarm company? What a PITA. Keep smiling and enjoy the rest of the holiday. I'm so glad Chris is safe and sound.

Pam, we have the same problem with the deer around here. Too many new housing developments crowding out the herds. Not a day goes by that I don't see another one on the side of the road. So very, very sad. We have the animal rights people fighting against the expansion of hunting season in an effort to cull the deer population and then we have the homeowners fighting for "protection" of their landscaping from the hungry beasties. Sigh...

Speaking of hungry.....I need to get that ham in the oven. Any of those perogies left in the freezer, Lily? They'd be right nice with ham, I think!!

Check back in with ya'll later :grouphug:
