Tara...I am baking this morning. Dough has been ready just haven't had time for the baking part.

Everyone getting new glasses???? Guess I better get some, once my $$ is replenished.

Liz...are Chips eyes really that blue??? They are gorgeous.

Yahoo is extremely slow and a pain when trying to send someone pictures. My sister both my dad a digital photo frame so I am trying to send her photos for it. Ironically I am the only one with digital photos of my mom.

Hi y'all! Went to my friend's mom's open house and spent some good time with her and her family. It's been a while since I've seen some of them, and due to oddities of life (mostly me having time off and Luis not) some met Luis for the first time.

Lily, I hope you all have fun doing that puzzle. That is a neat tradition! And yep, it's been rather rough trying to take care of my dad's house for him. Since he is so far away at the moment, I feel bad though. Today is my day for my house with hopefully help from Luis!

Sherry, I have a bit "mine" mentality. If someone else wants something I have they can buy it themselves Okay not really, but I don't share laptops well

Paula, I actually like the way Alyssa's boyfriend thinks I'd love a gift like that Glad you got all your gift buying done though. Sweet of Chris and friends to go to the funeral!

Tara, that was one heck of a ketchup there! Assemblies can be so nice And nope, not brave enough for Walmart. I've seen some really soft blankets everywhere this year (all about $15-20) and keep wanting to buy one for myself. Just haven't done it yet

Oh I looked at the pics last night and they were great Paula! Loved the new glasses!!!

Liz, I hope that Chip doesn't give you a scare like that again. It's amazing what a little furball can do to make your heart pound!

Okay Rose Mary, how much egg nog have you been dipping into already?

Amanda, don't worry, I haven't bought new glasses since about 2002 or so. My vision has changed, but I am just too cheap to buy the glasses since I am always found in contacts now.

Okay update on grandma. She is doing great apparently. She was able to put her full weight on her leg yesterday. I found it is the femur bone just beneath the hip. A clean break and she has good bones to work with. It will obviously take a few months to heal. She will be going to a rehab place for a couple weeks, but things look great for her. She lost some blood during the surgery and so they've been watching her hemoglobin levels closely and giving some more blood when needed. Nothing terribly worrisome though.

I did find the robe... I went to Macy's thinking they'd have the best selection... wrong! They had not very cozy ones left. So my thought was to go to Nordstroms and then VS (hey they once made a good robe that Luis bought me one year). At Nordstroms I got lucky and found a very soft, and very warm feeling robe. It was only $68 and compared to the nice onces I found at Macy's that I liked, this was a steal (the only ones I liked were close to $100). So now she has a very pretty powder blue robe waiting for her.

My dad's house is clean and the dishses should be done now. I'll go over this afternoon quickly to make sure the house has heated up some for Pete & Radha as well as put all the mail away and unload the dishwasher. I'll also clean my house today

And since the boards are going down at 5PM today for at least a day or so, I will say now... Merry Christmas to y'all! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season

Paula, I love your pic. Nice glasses. We did have issues with a certain critter "back in the day" when we'd do puzzles. Always had to check nooks and crannies for that last piece. Now it's just checking the floor to find those that hitch a ride on someone's sleeve. I love the Harley and tree pic. Very sophisticated looking. Cat people would see right through that however, but it is a great pic. The village you have looks like my boss's office. She has the village around the crown molding in her office and the Halloween one comes out in October for the bookshelf.

Tara, that was a great ketchup you made whilst the kidlets were being entertained. I wish I would have thought of that one about putting back the clothes on the floor into the drawers. Although my guy would just wear them that way. He knows what to do, just doesn't.

Liz, that is sad news about Tom. Prayers for all during this time. I do know it is difficult. OMG, you poor thing with Chip and the cage. I would have been terrified too. Glad it is all ok. I guess he will never do that again. I'd be thinking he would never want to go in the cage again either.

Elaine, glad you got one house done yesterday.

I don't know what's up with my laptop and am not able to get it figured at all. When I click on the YaYa link in my favorites it takes me to a place on the DIS that says the page is not found. When I come in to work here and click on the link, I'm in. I wish I knew more about things. I'm even having issues with Windows updates. I can't get them to automatically load. It says I've got some sort of firewall issue. When I clear everything I know it still won't work. I guess I'm going to have to pay to have it figured. I hate to pay for it though cuz I'm afraid they will mess up more than they fix.

Since the server here on the DIS will be out for a long time this weekend, I guess I'll be going through withdrawals and get my house cleaned oh so purty.

Good Morning! Fonally got a good night's sleep. Greg did puppy patrol last night I feel so good this morning. The boys are crashed in bed and I have some me time! Yeah!!

Thanks for all the compliments on Chip. We like him, LOTS! I can't wait for you to see his Glamour Shots picture. It is just too cute. Then you will see that he really does not have blue eyes at all....that was just something that happend when the picture was taken. I think it is better than the red eye effect though

Lily, I LOVE your new do! Too cute and I bet that is nice and easy to care for. Sweet Potato is pretty cute too!! I think you and the Yam need to come for a visit!!

Sherry, if I did not say this earleir, I love your new specs too! Very chic. They look great on you! WHile you are at the bank today, can you pick me up a few things? 50's and 100's work in way, shape or form! Thanks!

Amanda, I have made SO many or your cookies this year. Your recipe has become invaluable! I have also gottne LOTS of compliments on how good "my" chocolate chip cookie are. Of course I do tell them it is your recipe! Have fun baking. I am so glad all my baking is done. I deleivered a huge tray of cookies to the vet's office and they were so thankful. They all dug right in...that made me happy. Nice to see people actually enjoy all that hard work!

Tina, I think you need to post your recipe for that cake. Sounds very interesting! So do you think you will get any snow for Christmas? If it makes you fell any better, I don't thing we are getting any either.

Lainey, sounds like you will be busy, busy, busy as usual for the holidays. Have fon singing! I think I might make it to a midnight mass somewhere this year. Even though I am not catholic, I just love the midnight Christmas mass. They are so moving.

Tara, hope you make it through today! Sorry you are still in school. Even Greg got today and Monday off, and then again on Friday and Monday next week. He is feeling pretty good about life right now. Wish you were too. But hey, at least your cookies are baked and the kitchen is clean.

Suzanne, how goes it with you and this holiday retail season for you? Have you been busy, busy, busy? Greg is all ready for your discount. Maybe you ought to come and visit! There is lotss to see and do here he says.

RoseMary, how goess your holiday preparations? Have you had your fill of eggnog yet? Well, I think that will do it for me. I think I am going to take a shower and get ready for the day. I have to get all of my cookies delivered and then I think I will try to go grocery shopping. I got a great deal on a turkey at Thanksgiving and have been defrosting it all week. I am not sure if I will make it Sunday or Monday...but will do it one of those days....and then enjoy the leftovers for a few days as well. Have fun getting all those last minute things done, but don't stress too much!

the ankle is on the mend, but healing is nott the most pleasant thing to deal with! I'm now calling around for the med I need to put on the leg twice a day-and refilling a pain med. The bugger hurt so bad last night I needed two pills last night. I'm going to check in with the nurse later to see if that's normal-office hours aren't until 10 today.

Lainey, hooray that your Grandma's on the road to recovery. Soft robe sounds like a good deal. I was given a soft throw at the fireworks the other night-they got them from Big Lots. Hope all the masses go well.

Paula, I love the new glasses and 'do. The pics were great. Alyssa's boyfriend is smart, gadgets are great gifts.

Sherry, wouldn't a good 'mine, mine, mine' a la the seagulls in Nemo get you your laptop back? The boys are getting a PC for christmas-I'm hoping that one's enough!

Tara, what kind of cookies did you make? We may be making fudge later-swap with ya?

Amanda, I've had that problem with yahoo as well. Have fun baking! Was thinking of those digital frames, then decided on the shadow boxes. SIL doesn't have a digital camera, so it'd only be pictues we took in it.

I have not seen Chris since yesterday morning and he is not answering his phone.....he called me yesterday @4pm to say he was going skating and out to eat.....have not heard from him since.....hubby is very upset and worried. His friends never answer their phones so I have not called.

Shopping is DONE! Wrapping is DONE!! House is NOT clean! But it WILL BE tomorrow! Thank for loving and helpful daughters home from college!!

I've been out of sorts for the past week - a friend who lives a couple of miles down the road from us (our daughters were best friends all through elementary school) suffered a stroke last week, she's only 49. They lifeflighted her to the hospital and she's been in a coma ever since. Things are about as dismal as can be with her prognosis. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Ketchup attempt:

Liz - I want Chip! I think he would have so much fun with Gunny! What is nightly puppy patrol? Does he not sleep all night? Do you have to take him to the bathroom or does he just sit and whine and cry??? I love that photo of him!

Leg lamp crate - everything is up at my Dad's. He made a HUGE crate! Haven't seen it since he stenciled "Fragile" on it! Dad set the lamp up and plugged it in and my Mom got a little upset that Dad was wooed by the "soft glow of electric sex" and made him unplug it! Now Dad wants a lamp and my Mom said, "over my dead body!"

No snow in the forecast for Christmas here.

Paula - love your photos - Harley is adorable and your new specs are awesome!

Sherry - my son's school doesn't let out until today - DS does get out early, though! Can you believe I bought a lamptop in late Sept. and I haven't even plugged it in to try it out?? I like my mouse too much to leave the big computer!

Hey Lily! I saw Sweet Potato's twin brother yesterday at the local car dealership! Love that color!

Tara - I know this will shock you, but hunting season isn't going well for my guys. No deer yet -- but they will be muzzleloading next week. I hope they are successful, cause my freezer is getting empty! They both got turkeys, however and they are very yummy! I have many for you. I hope Jar gives you some peaceful moments over the holiday.
