hi gang,

:headache: I made it to school this morning...took a while...Jarrod decided to walk to school and didn't tell me (read: run away). I had to call the school to see if he had gone in on the bus and so they were frantic because I told them I didn't know where he was. He came walking back a bit later...said he missed the bus :furious:

maybe its the christmas time...maybe the meds are too strong/not strong enough...maybe he needs to find a home...not necessarily a good home...just another home!! Any takers???

Yesterday he decided to test Newton's laws of gravity...he tied the swing around Ethan's foot and pushed him off of the climbing structure...mom heard E screaming went out to tell him to stop yelling and found him swinging by one foot with his hands about 4 inches off the ground...needless to say...it was scary to say the least...when asked why he did it...he answered "I dunno". He didn't see that there was anything wrong with it...I mean heck the kid didn't hit his head and his leg wasn't broken..so it must have been okay :furious:

Hormones...hopefully I will have some better ideas on handling him when he gets there.

back later,
tara

Morning, all!

Kids are on vacation, so they let me sleep-woohoo!

Somehow, I've got to shop today with the kids to get stuff for them. Otherwise, I'll be doing it after work tomorrow or Thursday. Neil is asking for either a computer, video games or a game system and he's on restriction for a long time-so no game items. So I have to figure out the Santa gift when he can't have what he wants.

SIL let Neil get macs and cheese while she was watching the kids-it's full of yellow dye (he knows he can't have it and she doesn't think). As a result, he was a monster yesterday-and ruined their plans of spending the day in the park. I was the one who pointed it out to Ed last night-now we get the fun of pointing it out to her. ;)

Tara, I can soooooo relate to what you're talking about. We thought the increased Abilify was helping, then the macs issue. Hang in there, and if you need some wine to help...

An apology if you've sent to my PO box, I haven't been there yet!

Paula, it's so nice what you're doing for your coworker. Regarding Santa gifts, they're always wrapped in different paper from the rest. Can't leave them unwrapped-but that's always what our parents did, so we never thought any other way. Enjoy the Eggnog (yum)

Never had coca cola cake, but heard of it-I have the recipe and have been meaning to try it, too.

Rosemary, so we were in the World at the same time, eh? You collect Coke stuff-we need to talk. I may have some things to bring your way! No more picture? That and the fireworks were our reason for going-the cookies weren't all that impressive.

Kimmar, prayers for your MIL. When do you start holiday break? Friday?

Amanda, sounds like Todd's going to enjoy some 'gift wrap' as Ed would call it! :rotfl: Bummer on McD's-not nearly as good as Applebees.

Lainey, Ouch. Prayers for your Grandma-sad to hear of all these injuries. On the other issue-I'd been told that by a good friend. If you send her reading stuff and crosswords, that'd probably be good.

Bethie, welcome back! I may hit the local scrapping store today. IL's used to be a breeze to buy for, but now that they live a half hour from WDW and have the money, they just buy what they want when they see it. I'm thinking of buying a pair of shadow boxes at work and prepping it with disney scrap stuff and then setting up their cruise pictures in it for them. At a loss otherwise.

John, nice pictures!

Gotta get cracking and get some stuf accomplished here. Then I won't notice the #!#$%$%#% leg so much. The vicodin is kicking in, but if I don't get my butt in gear, I notice every little twinge so much more. Shall I pick up goodies for anyone else's list, since I'm going?

PSST, Ed was at SILs all afternoon and when I got off work, I found out they were still in Lakeland. I headed over to a mall nearby that has a See's kiosk and got a bunch of goodies for the stockings. I bought extra. :cool1:

I'll ketchup later. I've got a sec and wanted to entertain with pics:

....I thought that I was the only one who did that....

....thanks.....we have half a day on Friday, and then the whole week off, till Jan 2....

Nephew is finally sleeping. Only 1 more day, only 1 more day. :teeth:

Kimmar, so sorry about your MIL.

Rose Mary, I ate all the WC's. :teeth:

Amanda, sorry Applebees didn't work out.

Suzanne, sorry about the mac & cheese incident. Send some of that Sees this way. :bounce:

Paula, yay for staying within the budget. Had to smile about the fiesty kitty. :)

Tara, sorry about the bad morning with Jar.

Elaine, hope all goes well with your grandma.

Wow, there is so much to comment on that I apologize in advance for what I miss.

Lainey and Kimmar, I am very sorry to hear about your grandmother and MIL, and hope they recover well.

John and Lily, thank you for the pics!!

Tara, take deep breaths and try not to kill anyone. Now I see why you wear your hair the way you do......

When I was a kid, the Santa gifts were always wrapped (with a separate paper) and put out on Christmas Eve. Now our girls usually have their "big" gifts open and assembled on the floor as if Santa left them. Other "Santa" gifts are still wrapped in a different paper.

Lainey, if it hurts so much, you ought to put off riding the exercise bike until you feel better. :confused3 :duck:

About to head out now-had some AIM conversations and a phone call to tend to.

Lily, love the new 'do! It really is nice.

Tara, hang in there-it will get better. That's what they tell ME, so it has to! Perhaps we should do a kid swap.

Sherry, if there's any extra, I'll send it your way. :rotfl:

Alan, we may end up going your route if I go with the Dell purchase. Can't think of anything else and the plus would be that the child would not use my laptop to do his homework. This means he knows how to use this one and he goes to all the gamer websites.

Okay I'll really get going now!

Suzanne

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Paula is coming to save the day! :bounce: :Pinkbounc Eggnog w/a little bit of happy juice and we'll be :dance3: Wait HEY TARA come join us! :teeth:

I really, really don't want to be working!

Lily, I bet your -do looks great and I'm sure sweet potato is cute too! (Can't see the pics :sad2:

Our kids are out of school Thurs 12/21 thru Mon 1/8! Not fair, adults should be off work too! :sad2:

yes, I am a big whiney baby today!

Suzanne- I bet we passed right by each other in The World, LOL! YES, my whole kitchen is done in a coca cola motif :lmao:

Sherry- You piggie you :rotfl2: We don't have White Castle here, we have Krystals. I hear they are very similar. We can get White Castles frozen in the grocery.
:wave2: Pam- hope you get your last package real soon. Glad you got your column done and all that other good stuff. Just for you

I'm off....................to pretend work, :teeth:

Yep, we have Krystal's and Hardee's instead of White Castle or Carl Jr's but they seem to be the same thing.

My egg nog story.

Rebecca was singing at a Christmas celebration at a church several years ago. We had never attended this church and it was a bit different than what we go to, but had a great time.

We attended a reception in the fellowship hall afterwards.

I saw chocolate egg nog. I had never tried egg nog and thought I might like that flavor better.

I bravely took a good slug of it.

Oh yeah, this is the Greek Orthodox Church, where they were liberal with the alcohol.

I wasn't expecting that ;)

:rotfl: Alan, you forgot to put: The End after your story. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Perhaps it isn't the end. I may try egg nog again one day ;)

BTW, Rebecca and I really enjoyed visiting the World of Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta several years back.

Have you ever been?

Have not been brave enough to try cake yet. Mayber later.

Kimmar and Lainey prayers and pixie dust for both of you.

Egg nog-YUCK!!!

No Krystals or White Castle here.

Love the sweet potato :)

Tara- how scary for you this morning. :scared1:

I'm going to take a bit of time off to get some things done and should be back Friday.

Y'all enjoy your holiday time :)

Icky egg nog! :scared1:

Alan, funny story! Enjoy your time off.

Rose Mary, from what I understand Krystal is the same as WC. Fresh is defintely better than the frozen. ::yes::

I agree Egg nog-YUCK!!!

Sherry broke it.

I don't know what's up with things, but I'm having difficulty posting and navigating around DIS these last couple of days.

Would love to stay and chat...but I'm exhausted.

I promise to be more chatty tomorrow or the next day! Thanks for the hugs!!

Oh and Elaine and Kimmar I hope your family members do well with their injuries and get on the mend quickly!!

off to bed!
tara

Whew!! I'm expecting to run into myself either coming or going, again  I DID manage to find time to get my Christmas cards made, though. First wave hit the PO today, the rest will go out as soon as I finish 'em!

Glad to hear you made it thru the week with your mom, Liz!

Prayers goin' out for your Grandmother, kimmar, and yours, as well, Laine! Poor ladies!

Send the egg nog this way, I love it!!
