My last check in before we leave. Todd is working but we are leaving as soon as he gets off work. I won't be able to check in while we are there.

...WOW, you too.....

:wave2: everyone!

I have only a couple of quick secs to post and then I need to hit the shower and head into the grocery store. DS's 'Stang is experiencing radiator problems and overheated last night on the way to the movies. Can't get it into the shop to get the radiator flushed until Tuesday. :guilty: So - he needs to borrow my new car for a couple of hours today. Then we have an Eagle Scout ceremony to attend later on.

DD, DS and I got up at 6:00 am yesterday and was in the car and making the 25 mintue trip to the mall. We got some good deals, especially a $200.00 tree ladder stand for $109.00 at Dick's Sporting Goods. Lots of sweaters. I did online shopping on Thanksgiving Day and picked up one of those digital photo frames, as well as memory cards and a digital camera from Best Buy and Circuit City.

I am almost done shopping! :woohoo: Tons and tons of wrapping, though. Tree won't go up until next weekend at the earliest.

Safe travels to all of our traveling Ya Yas! :goodvibes Have fun!! :Pinkbounc :dance3:

Good morning all.
The :sunny: is shining and the :laundy: is a work in progress.

:woohoo: Alyssa and I are going to see Happy Feet today popcorn:: I'm very excited.

DH Jeffrey just got a call for an interview for a possible part time job at a local Pheasant Farm/Shooting range - it's quitte a popular place - they host alot of big name events - Matt Light of the New England Patriots has a charity event there every year. Jeffrey is very excited - nothing like a part time job doing something you love!!

I have a poll to put out to all of you - you may know that I always post from my work computer - that's because our home one is just about dead - I am thinking of getting another and am unsure if I should get a desktop or laptop and also unsure of the brand - we currently have Dells...any opinions??
I had wanted to get Chris an IPOD for Christmas but the "dead" computer won't even load the software.
I think we may be having a "technology crisis" - Alyssa's laptop is dead also - she told me yesterday that her BF wants to build her a new computer for Christmas!!

Pam - great deal on that tree stand - what did you get your kidlets?? I need ideas for mine...

I'm off to :laundy: enjoy your day everyone!!

Hey Paula!! :yay:

I love our Mac desktops. I actually bought a Mac laptop about a month ago and I have never turned it on. DD set it up 2 weeks ago with the software -- but I don't like the tiny keyboard or the rolling mouse square thing-a-ma-bob.

DD has a laptop for college and we'll be buying DS one for graduation. DD has a Gateway laptop, I just bought a Dell laptop for DH for Christmas - they had a great deal over Thanksgiving on their website.

For Christmas DD will be getting luggage (nothing like a subtle hint from good old Mom, huh? :lmao: "Here's some luggage, kiddo, now hit the road and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!") She's also getting her college class ring, clothes, clothes, and more clothes, a soft faux fur throw, a new winter coat (tweed, very grown-up and professional looking) and restaurant GCs to use at college and books and DVDs.

DS is getting the "A Christmas Story Leg Lamp", a bigger GB iPod, the Braun 360º razor, clothes, winter coat, new ski poles, a room safe for next year at college, XBox game, iTunes GC, books and DVDs.

Oooohhhhh. Jeffrey's new job sounds great! DS just left to go pheasant hunting with a friend.

Thanks for the great suggestions Pam. If I could find a good enough deal I may buy seperate computers for Jeffrey and Chris - that way Jeffrey won't always be complaining about the downloads. Let me know if you hear of anything good. I will prob get Chris 1 outfit from AE and a gift vert so he can take advantage of the after Christmas sales.

For Alyssa - perhaps a Vera Bradley Duffle bag and I'm thinking a tent - how different is that??

Here is the link to the place where Jeffrey has his interview.

Hi y'all! Finally home here... I couldn't get the laptop online because something was odd with the way that his dad had his wireless set up. In short, it was wrong, but Luis didn't want to fix it. Nothing like telling your dad that he did something totally incorrect ;) So we kept peace and claimed it was my laptop's fault :p

Speaking of which, unless you are a Mac lover (which we are so NOT here, don't want to explain that here because I always manage to tick off Mac lovers.) Luis suggests Dell or Lenova (IBM). I have a Dell XPS 12.1" widescreen and love it.

I am going back to read everything I have missed. It's so good to be back home!

I'M OFFENDED!!

I challenge you to a duel... now you must die since you have insulted my manhood.... I mean, my womanhood.... I mean my MAChood! :furious:

;)

Actually, in my business -- MACS are the perfect choice for desktop publishing! :thumbsup2 I NEVER use the Dell desktop except for UPS shipping because I just think the MACs are easier to use.

But I still  you Lainey, in spite of our difference of opinions!! :goodvibes Welcome home!

LOL Pam... we're tech geeks here and truth be told, Macs are overpriced now and not utilizing the processors as well as PC. They all are using the same processor but the Mac OS just doesn't use it to the fullest it could/should. I also find Macs so hard to be fixed. Can't stand working with them (was IT tech support for 3 years) because when they are fried, they are totally fried and not fixable. The other thing is if you are used to PC, Macs are not easy to deal with. I really can't stand Windows though, but I find it far less evil and a lot easier to use (and get fixed) than Mac.

Macs used to blow out PC when it came to high graphics softwares... now they are equal in that. I know many friends with that who love them after using them for years... they just drive me mad.

Sure ya still love me? :p

Missed me didn't ya? ;)

And in all honesty, I know ya love your Mac and think that is great. I truly do not believe it is wise to buy Mac when you are a PC user or a PC when you are a Mac user. That seriously drove me mad to have to switch so much when I was in college. My SIL switches and I have no idea how she does it so well. I'm too much of a creature of habit to want to switch... though I have almost been lured to Macs ini the past.
