Good morning gang,

All this turkey talk is sounding really good!!

We are having a honey baked spiral ham for dinner on Sunday afternoon with my db, sil, and neice. We decided on ham because they aren't big turkey fans and they will be having turkey on Thursday with Beth's family.

I have to write two lesson plans for my class this weekend and I have to write lesson plans for the entire week i'm gone. I've got a ton of stuff to do! ACK!!

I'll be back later!

I have a friend who was always sick of turkey by the beginning of year because of having so much at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But that was the only time she ever got to eat it.

I suspect a lot of people only have it at those times also. Mine and Mrs. AA's family always do both ham and turkey, but for a small setting, I agree with Lainey - you've just got to have the turkey :)

Hmm..we are going to my parents this year. I sure hope they have a cajun fried one.

I have a date with two beautiful ladies tonight. Our church is sponsoring a Daddy-daughter date night. We will go to Stevie B's pizza buffet, but then to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to see the stage show of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. :thumbsup2

Ran some errands this morning. I am pooped. Between cleaning all week (including today as I can squeeze it in), shopping for the game and company tomorrow, and T-day stuff, I am just exhausted. :rolleyes1

Good thoughts to you today, Elaine. I can't imagine Thanksgiving without a turkey. I LOVE turkey. This year my mom is doing ham, also, but only because we have more people coming this year.

Amanda, yay for the tix. :bounce: Enjoy Applebees.

Paula, sorry about Christopher's grades. It is so hard isn't it? People around here starting camping out on TUESDAY for PS3's. :faint:

Alan, sounds like a great date night tonight. Enjoy. :)

 to all the MIA ya-ya's!!

Gonna go eat some lunch and hope nephew takes a nap soon so I can finish up some cleaning.

Speaking of the PS3's - I read in the newspaper this morning that the Walmart where I was yesterday had a robbery of the people ousside in line and when 1 person refused to give up their wallet they were shot!!!!! Thsi is craziness!!

We will be having turkey here - my inlaws and dad for dinner then the rest of Jeffrey's family at night.

The thanksgiving spirit has taken hold if me - nto sure if you all remember that I mentioned that my co-worker (singoen mom 5 kids) had broken her leg? Well she is really strugglign - still not back to work - no income and in the process of being evicted by her not -so-very-nice inlaws (evidently they want their son to move into the house so that the kids won't be at their house during his visitation), Well - my staff and I have decided to adopt her family for Christmas and I just got off the phone with her - I will be going to her house at least 1 day/week to help with laundry - errands - etc.

gotta run to the bank...more later...

Is this a southern thing?? Or is this where you use cajun seasonings on your friend who most closely resembles a turkey?

I know someone who's starting to resemble a turkey to me right now

And yes, we like to go over and steal a turkey from our friend Boudreaux when he isn't looking.

I'm glad you are going to help their family, Paula.

Lainey has had her procedure done in the hospital today and is now in recovery.

She's tired and sore, but okay and wanted me to pass it along to y'all.

Alan....thanks for the update on Elaine. I hope you are enjoying your date night. Our church is too small for something like that. We would only have 3 dads in attendance.

Paula...I heard on the radio about that robbery. People are crazy. Very nice you are able to help your coworker.

Okay...I need pixie dust to quit eating junk. I just got out of the not overweight section, and if I keep eating the way I have the last 3 days I won't be in that section for very long. :guilty: Someone take the cookies and candy away from me.

Thanks, Sweets... we did get home shortly after you posted. Sadly the hormones taking a nasty dip did make me sick. Not totally uncommon this late when your body is used to the high levels. I'm sure I'll be a wreck for a while. A bit of pain, but not too bad. I just feel tired and sad.

I'm mostly out of it, so I will ignore all else... we're about to watch a movie or two. See y'all later!

Hi all. Totally annoying and aggrevating day at work and I want to vent so bad to the boss, but it'd be wasted breath. Suffice to say, when you are asked to come help, then HELP! I did the work of three today and he didn't even do the work of one. Grrr!

Paula, yikes. That's so nice of you and your coworkers to help the other coworker!

Lainey, you won't wanna eat here-Ed doesn't like turkey,so we're having honeybaked ham. However, I don't eat potato salad (or any picnic type salad) so there will be plenty of other more traditional items. I'll send you a care package!

Tara, did your school do a Honeybaked Ham fundraiser? We did this year, woohoo.

Amanda, just think of all the walking you'll be doing next week!

Alan, I hope you enjoy your date, but if the Mrs finds out, you're gonna get it!

Sherry, when you're done cleaning, you wanna head over this way? :rotfl2:

More beer and some chocolate type dessert is in my future.

:teeth:

Glad you were around to get all that out! Alan needs a good teasing now and then ;)

Suzanne, I would be happy to eat with you if you could even have a small sliver of turkey breast for me. The rest of it is good. I am like you, I don't eat any of those salads. I will admit, I do eat fruit salad on occasion, but not the other type of salads out there.

Paula, I was just reading about that and some of the other crazy things that have gone on with that PS3. I still cannot believe that people are sitting in line for that overpriced game console though.

Watching Ocean's 11... just passing the time until we think it is close enough to bed time. I will just take some drugs to make sure I am knocked out.

Brother stopped by to talk..all I can say is that the holidays aren't what they are cracked up to be. Sometimes I want to live away from my family...too bad I love them all so much  Please keep my family in your prayers because I know things are starting to bubble and will boil over soon.

Elaine...anytime is close to bedtime for me;)

The girls are in Mandy's room dancing to High school musical songs....those little feet can sure make some noise, can't imagine when the feet get bigger.

Page 3 save here....

I have been busy cooking cleaning and doing laundry today! What fun..it wasn't so bad when the :sunny: was out..but I think it went into hiding yet again :confused3

Elaine, :grouphug: I have been thinking about you lots today.

Paula, I have to ask you this....how do you work from home? Kudos to you, as I could NEVER do it. I have been "working" from home the past few weeks and I must say, this is not something I could really do. I seem to get interested in ANYTHING but work! My hat is off to you lady! Keep up teh good work. Enjoy time with your daughter this weekend...and hope things gets better for you with Chris!

Sherry, I am right with you on the exhaustion thing! I have kept myself rather busy, save for the slug day! And there are just the two of us...again, I don't know how you do it! Laundry from the two of us is enough to do me in at times :rolleyes1 But don't ya just love a clean house :cloud9:

Alan, have fun on your date tonight! That is something I would have loved for my dad to do with me when I was little. I had always dreamed about how fun a daddy/daughter dance would be.

Hey Tara, a honeybaked ham sounds delish...but I am definately a turkey girl for Thanksgiving. How many days until you leave? You must be excited!!! I know I would be. Good luck with your lesson plans!

Amanda, glad you got your tickets! I bet the girls will really enjoy that show. So I made potato chip cookies today and now I wished they were your chocolate chips. Come to think of it...maybe it is better I made these...Greg likes them. I won't eat as many! Did you have a slug night last night? You can just never have too many of those sometimes!

Hey Lily! Nice to see you! Stop by more often. I miss ya! Date night tonight? Doing anything fun?

Hey Karen, long time since I have seen you around! How are things? How is the new house? Hope all is well!

Hi Kimmie!

Well I started this ealrly this afternoon and have yet to send it....go figure. Have a great evening!!!

So, I decided to make chocolate lava cakes to make things all better. Kids caught wind of Mom and Dad's idea, and horn in on the deal.

Neil did a happy dance while waiting, after anxiously watching me prepare the batter. My child who doesn't know how to show appropriate affection, gave me a kiss on the cheek, a happy dance and a thank you AND went to bed after eating this dessert. So, all I have to do to avoid a bedtime meltdown is make a dessert! :rotfl2:

Amanda, sorry for the family troubles. I'll keep them in my prayers-I know how difficult family issues can be.

Kimmar, I'll probably be following you on that painting front soon. I don't know how to act with just 40 hours anymore. ;)

Liz, sorry potato chip cookies make me go :scared: So, remember how I said the 18's fall off? Now the 16's are headed that way, too!

Sherry, have a good time with the company.

Lainey, hope you get some rest. You'll probably be logy all weekend-send Luis out for some movies to watch after the OSU game viewing!

Suzanne

Hello everyone,

It's 10:50 on a Friday evening, and I finally have the time to get on here and post. Please know that even though I don't get on here to post as often as I should or would like to, please know that I do miss all of you, and think about the fun times we've had often. And I have chatted with many of you via phone--some days those 20 minutes I'm walking from the office to the train are the only quiet times I have in a day ;)

Anyways, the condo is going well. I'm enjoying living on my own. I'm still not done unpacking, but I'm settling in. I'm having my first dinner party tomorrow night--having five of my DIS friends over, and I'm cooking lasanga. It should be fun.

I was in San Antonio last month for work and had a great time. It's really a beautiful city. It took me all of about 20 minutes walking around the city to find their dueling piano bar, and wound up going there four of the five nights I was there, including two nights with TDCNala, a DISer who was at the same conference as me.

I head back to Disney World in about three weeks (I'll be at my big Jellyrolls meet at this time in three weeks, hopefully listening to Scotty and Ray). I can't wait. I really need a vacation. I'm staying at the Boardwalk again. I'm flying down with two of my DIS friends from this area.

In January, I'm going on my first Disney cruise with two of my DIS friends! I am so excited. We even got a room with a Verandah! The last day of the cruise is my birthday, so I'll wake up on the ship on my birthday, we'll drive back to Disney World, and I'll be able to go to Jellyrolls on my birthday. I'm going to talk to Scotty and Ray and see if I can get them to work that night :)

Suzanne, I hope you saved some of that lava cake for the rest of us. Yum.

Elaine, Oceans 11 was a good movie. I love Matt Damon. I'm not usually a Brad Pitt fan, but I loved him in that movie.

Amanda, sorry you are having troubles with the family. Not easy, I know. Hang in there :)

I think that's going to do it for now. Catch you later.

JellyrollsKaren

Morning, all.

Off to my last day. I'm going to miss the awesome people I work with. The bosses, not so much-especially not after yesterday! :furious: The concept of help just escapes one of them.

Have a great Saturday! I may pop in afterwards, but the boys have their fall festival for cub scouts, so it may not happen until after that.

Suzanne

Another yaya off on a busy day! Have my all day class and then I have to come home and finsih cleaning house for the fam that's coming over on Sunday. I also need to tyr and find the suitcases...they are lost under a ton o' junk! Then maybe get the lights on the bushes in front of the house...they were thrown in the bottom of my closet so they are easy to find!!

Ya'll have a great day!

tara

Morning all! Doing okay. Didn't sleep that great last night mostly because I haven't been able to take allergy meds for a while. Not feeliing any of the effects of the procedure from yesterday though. They didn't expect me to, so I'm not shocked. Just tired due to lack of sleep. Not sure I plan on watching the game... then again I rarely watch that game... I like my TV too much ;)

Amanda, I will keep your family in my thoughts. I hope it won't be as bad as you fear
You do have me smiling talking about the girls. Even our 10-15 pound kitties sound like elephants running around upstairs when we are sitting downstairs. It amuses me to know how little feet make so much noise.

Liz, what do you do for your job now? I totally forgot  I heard from people who work from home that htey need an office to go into otherwise it does get hard. I could easily do it myself, and in all honesty I would have loved to do it.

Suzanne, I think you need to share that recipe. I love a good chocolate lava cake! Good luck with your last day at work

Tara, good luck on getting everything done. When do you leave for WDW?
