Good morning y'all.
I got home prepared for it to be a "daddy cooking" night. (Chick-Fil-A

)
However, the dogs were quite a sight when they came to greet me. Rebecca usually turns them loose to run outside (fenced back yard) after they eat which is just about time for me to get in from work.
I noticed that Winston looked very dirty, and when they came inside, Rebecca took one whiff and touched him and said, "He's oily"
It would appear that they had been plundering in a shed where I keep the lawn mowers, etc. I don't even recall the last time I drained anything, but there was a butter container with old motor oil in it that they had dragged into the yard, opened, and gotten into.
Rebecca immediately called the vet to see what their opinion was (I suppose I could have just posted a thread on the DIS

) After waiting for a vet to be available, the receptionist said she couldn't get one to the phone and for us to bring them in.
So we had to go in and wait for an opening and then carry them in to see the vet who only laughed and said that it happens all the time and he has never seen a dog who would ingest enough motor oil to do any real harm and all we needed to do is bathe them.
Boy, do I wish we had just gotten him on the phone instead of having to pay for a "vet visit"
I dropped them off there this morning to let their groomers take care of it. After all, it's only money.
You can bet that I have now "puppy proofed" that area and moved all gas containers, etc. to a high shelf out of their range. And yes, they do both appear to be okay which is really the important thing, after all.
