Good morning.

Well, not so good-back at the Q@#$^%@$#5 dealer again-that check engine light came back on! We want to go to Jacksonville tomorrow, but I'm not going anywhere with a question about the car's engine.

I'm doing the happy dance. I pulled out one of my fitted blouses out of the closet to wear today and it is LOOSE! Woohoo-as if the pants falling down wasn't enough proof.

Judie, welcome back from DL! Tell all-I'm there in 5 weeks!

Alan, you get a reward for being so well behaved:

Tara, bummer on the bad night. Get up and get sanding, girl. School starts soon.

Sherry, please stock up on hair color-you're going to get a lot of grey hairs with a teen driver in your house. :teeth:

Kimmar, I suppose you don't have any hot pictures of Sean Connery, Patrick Stewart or Anthony Edwards? I didn't think so, but man, they're nice to look at! (Patrick can read the phone book to me and I'd be swooning!)

Paula, no ac? Yikes!

John, I think Murphy came for a visit down here.

Lainey, do you feel like your cheeks will be forever red after all this conversation? Just think, you don't have to make blusher part of the makeup routine!

Bethie, go have a Ritas for me. That's the bestest way to beat the heat, especially the gelatos.

The school goofed-first day instructions were that the kids would be car riders. They followed the rest of the year rules and Ed sat in the car line for 25 minutes while the kids got home in 10. The good part is that Kevin ended up getting a play date out of it. He asked my permission to invite his classmate over this afternoon. Very cute.

...what SHE said...I'll 'check IN' again on Sunday.....:car:

Hi Ya Yas!

Paula, oh so sorry about the heat issues. Glad a relief is in sight.

Sherry, send Jonathan here. I'm a good driving teacher. I loved teaching my guys. DH got the "parkng lot snow driving" lessons however. Good luck adjusting to that idea of having another driver in the family.

Can't join into the phone conversations. Have my cell and wired land line in the house. Can't imagine going w/o at least one "hard wired."

Beth, hope that weather relief gets to you soon. Have fun and don't stress too much with your being busy.

JRKaren, hope you are enjoying your shopping for your new digs. I am not the one to help with making those pillows. Hope they come through for you there.

Tara, so you have a driver too? Well, let me tell you...it never stops! Sorry about the bowling score. I guess bowling and drugs don't mix.

Kimmar, sigh. Thanks.

ACindyJudy, glad you enjoyed your trip. No TP? well, DSis is leaving soon I understand, maybe you can show her how it should be done!

Suzanne, kidlets in school already. Glad you enjoyed their first day.

Alan, so you've even participated in the underpinning discussion. That leaves...

TC...

later...

John...yes your wife is crazy for cutting the grass in this heat. However, if she is lookign for more yard work she can come here!! Glad your dd's foot is okay. Have you made any more trips in the last couple of days?

No more trips to Pennsylvania were necessary, thank goodness. Sarah arrived home yesterday afternoon and is doing fine. I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend. Wish me luck.

Heard back from YC, after an email explaining that I didn't have the candle anymore. They are going to replace it anyway. :bounce: So, it should be here in 5-7 business days. :)

Elaine, I am sad about the growing up so fast, but mostly shocked. :teeth: I don't feel old enough to have a 16 year old. :teeth: We are having a big Sweet 16 party at a local park for him, so that is the big b-day plan. :)

Lily, OK, I'll send Jonathan your way for driving lessons. :)

Tara, sorry about the bowling scores. They are still way better than mine. :lmao: And I have some excellent drivers, in that sense, too. :lmao:

Paula, boo on no a/c. We didn't have it for the first 5 years or more of living here. Won't live without it anymore. Hope there is relief in sight.

Suzanne, check on the hair color stock up. :teeth: Those cookies look yummy.

Kimmar, excellent pics. :thumbsup2

We are supposed to be cooler, but I think the weathermen are nuts. Its still HOT!

Off to run some more errands........oh joy!

Hi y'all! back from the movie and lunch :) It was good (again ;))

Kimmar that first pic you posted (Orlando) was definitely good... the last one you posted... ewwwwwwww!!!!!

Paula, glad you are doing okay now. I grew up in a home w/o a/c and we only had one in the window of my parent's bedroom I believe. Luis probably couldn't survive with out central a/c
Sorry I missed your IM. I had just left.

Tara, sorry about your bowling scores. I admit though, compared to me, you do an awesome job!!!!!

Howdy Beth! I hope that the temps cool off for you soon!

Suzanne, sorry about the car. I remember my sister's had an O2 sensor fail on hers. I hope they'll have that one fixed up soon!

Lily, how many days are left for you? :teeth:

Sherry, I can understand being shocked and sad. I know with others' kids, I get shocked when I realize how old they are. There is a family we are friends with and we remember when they were babies and in car seats. The oldest will be driving soon

John, I am glad that Sarah is home safe and sound.

Hi gang, home from school.

I couldn't get into my classroom because they had just put floor wax on my hall :( But Astrid came and we worked in her room and geting her moved. Next week she is going to help me!

Now for cabinet updates....doors were sanded the other day (haven't done the installed parts yet :( ) and the first coat of primer is on. should have them painted by midnight tonight!!

Did I ever tell ya'll about my baseboard cutting experience last week? Well, if I did you can skip the next few sentences....I will sum it up in one word....lousy! :rotfl: I managed to get maybe 5 feet cut properly and the other 3 went to scraps! :rotfl: Not only that but the quarter round was too small so I have to buy thicker quarter round. I will get that in the next few weeks. So I will have this part done before Colleen gets here on Wednesday. The kitchen is only done now so it will take a while to finish.

Okay, off to get a snack so I will survive until dinner time!!!

tara

Suzanne, forgive me! I have not thanked you for the cookies since they were posted just for me ;)

What time do I come by to pick them up?

Suzanne, I have to say, that many of the rides are better at DL compared to MK! Specifically POTC, Space Mountain & Haunted Mansion. Space Mountain is very different!...in a good way!
One recommendation is: eat at Blue Bayou if you get the chance! It is really good, and the atmosphere is great as you watch POTC boats go by and fireflies twinkle! I had short ribs glazed in Zinfandel demi glaze...YUM!!! If you have any questions just ask!!

okay...ya'll are gonna make me give the cabinet updates again since no one is around to post....so here goes

primed the doors once, watched tv but the kids were being butt heads so I had to stop the program and ended up erasing it :furious: , ate dinner, put the second coat of primer on the 4 doors, went back to the installed parts and sanded them and wiped them, primed them, read a night time story to the "children" and put them to bed. Then painted the first coat of color on the doors, went up and put the second coat of primer on the upstairs, sat down to watch tv and put Jarrod back to bed 5 times, finished watching another program, went to put second coat of color on the doors...they aren't really ready for second coat, went upstairs and painted the cabinets.

Now my brush is washed, my hands are clean, Jarrod has been in bed for 45 minutes and I have time to dis!

Tomorrow...second coat of color on both the doors and the cabinets, take off the doors on the bottom of the other side, sand, and prime. I have to get it all done before Wednesday when Colleen gets here!!

okay, later gators!!

tara

Sherry sneated while I was rambling! Hi sherry!!

Good morning everyone! Sorry I didn't check in much last night. I had a beading thing to go to, and by the time I got home I wasn't in the mood to type out anything :p

Wow Tara, sounds like you have been really busy lately! I hope the doors will be done quickly so that Colleen can see the full completion of all your hard work!
Sorry you weren't able to get into your classroom. How much longer do you have before school starts?

Alan, I have a feeling that hte cookies will be gone by the time you get there ;)

Thanks for that bump Sherry :)

Judie, I haven't been able to go on Space Mt. since I was a kid. It was closed the last time I was there. So was BTM (it was during the year they had the accidents and had it shut down :() That made for a small disappointment in my trip.
While I think both HM are the same, I do much prefer the outside of WDWs. DL really seems to not have the "outside scary feel" as WDWs. I totally agree on Blue Bayou though. And the scene at the beginning is so good and so close to the one from the PotC2. I had a Monte Cristo there but we shared a lot and the food was awesome in general.

I totally forgot we have Luis' company picnic to go to today. So we'll do that and maybe buy me a new pillow. Mine is fine, but it is a standard sized pillow on a king bed... that and the cats love it so much that I have a hard time sleeping. So... I am just going to find a larger size of it :p

Last but not least...

Happy Birthday Pam!!!!!!

Morning!

:bday: Pam!! :cake:

Tara, you've been a busy girl. Hope those cabinets get done soon.

Elaine, enjoy the company picnic.

I thought Julian was all done losing teeth, and last night, while eating a fruit rollup he lost one!! :lmao:

We are going to a cookout at a friend's house this afternoon. Should be fun. :) They have a pool, and of course my boys will be in there. :) Taking my bathing suit along, just in case. ;)

I have a dining review thread started on The DL forum if anyone is interested!

Happy Birthday Pam!! :cool1: go Pam, go Pam, it's ya birthday!!

Judi...i'll have to check out your DL reviews as soon as i'm done with my chores today!!

I have 6 doors and 2 drawers and then the cabinets themselves to finish sanding. I've been sanding all morning and the really amazing part of all of this is that....I haven't hurt myself once today!! :woohoo:  pretty sad huh?

anyway, have a great one ya'll. I'll be back later!
tara

taking a momentary break. All the cabinet doors are sanded, the den has been dusted and vacuumed and now I'm getting ready to go prime the doors!

back later!
tara

Back from the picnic. We also went to Buckeye Corner first, to use a g/c we had there. Finally found a cute jersey that fit well. It's a wee large, but it fits much better than the skin type stuff they have for ladies. It also looks like a real one.

As for the company picnic, I am floored still with all they had. Ice cream, beer, sodas, full meal, hotdogs, water melon, everything... all you want, free of charge. Lots of fun stuff for the family in general. Saw the cutest owl from the zoo that when scratched, just snuggles up like a cat would. Luis wouldn't let me ride ponies though :( Of course I told him rock climbing wasn't that wise either. Corporate got third place... not bad for a bunch of finance and IT geeks :p

Sherry, I do hope y'all had a good time today! Sounds like a blast!!

Judie, I'll have to look later. I love hearing reviews... especially good ones ;)

Tara, the day is nearly over... did you stay safe? :p I betcha it looked good by the time you were done though ::yes::
